‘Mani’s always there…’ Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie remembers late friend Mani

Primal Scream singer Bobby Gillespie paid tribute to his late friend and bandmate Mani at the launch of David Bowie: You’re Not Alone in London.

00:12No, no, it's not really, that's not so true because Manny left to join Stone Roses in 2012, so we've

00:22done a few tours, but Manny's always there.

00:25Are you going to do a tribute to him on the back of the stage?

00:28Well, we did a tribute at the Rent House in December, we had a huge, huge, gigantic photograph of him,

00:35and we played Ready City Go by Generation X, one of his favourite punk bands is the intro music for

00:41when we come on stage, and we played a gig in Manchester a couple of days after he died, and

00:49we dedicated the gig to him, and we had the crowd sing in his name.
