00:00Taoyuan in northern Taiwan has officially opened its first wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center.
00:06The center will operate 24 hours a day with two veterinarians and three animal caretakers.
00:12Around 30 wild animals are now undergoing rehabilitation there.
00:16Those include four Mosen giant flying squirrels and various protected bird species.
00:21Experts say the facility will be especially helpful in protecting Taiwan's birds.
00:30If they have a very fast rescue, the birds will be more powerful.
00:36Taoyuan rescued over 2,000 wild animals last year prior to the center's opening.
