00:00It looked like a really bad performance out there, if you're honest.
00:03Was that the worst of your aims or not?
00:05Yeah, in the basics, in the pride that you should have in wearing this shirt,
00:12that was unacceptable.
00:14I've defended the players, and I'm accountable.
00:17I've always said that.
00:18After tonight, I think the players as well need to have a look in the mirror
00:22for what they put in and talk about tactics.
00:25Tactics come after the basics.
00:27Having more courage to play, winning duels, winning headers, tackles,
00:32conceding terrible goals, that was an unacceptable performance tonight.
00:36Is it fair to say there's a disconnect maybe between you and the players
00:40and maybe the fans and the players and maybe the fans and you as well?
00:44Judging off that performance, it looks that way.
00:46I won't lie.
00:48That was unacceptable.
00:50I don't feel there's a disconnect between me and the players.
00:53We work very closely with them in training, in individual meetings,
00:59team meetings, unit meetings.
01:00We are giving everything to the place.
01:02There is a lack of spirit, lack of belief that can create that perspective
01:09that makes it look a certain way.
01:11And I can't argue with that at the moment because the run we're on is unacceptable
01:14and that performance definitely was as well.
01:16Dan, how do you feel to hear the charts that are laying particularly at you
01:22and how do you come back from that?
01:24I think for the supporters, I understand.
01:27I understand their frustration.
01:30And it's my job as the head coach and the manager of the football club.
01:33The buck stops with me.
01:35I have thick skin and I understand why the fans are frustrated.
01:39I'm frustrated with the performances we're putting in.
01:42And I've just got to keep working hard with the staff, with the players.
01:46But what I do need to do is really look at how we go about games,
01:51how the personnel of the team, who I can trust and rely on in difficult moments,
01:56because not enough players showed that today in the game.
01:59Liam?
02:00Liam, has it become hard to see how he turns around when you see
02:04that questionable commitment from the players?
02:08I saw it against Manchester United three days ago.
02:10That's what disappointed me the most.
02:12We lost the game, but I thought the performance was very, very good.
02:15Today was the complete opposite in every aspect.
02:18And that's the hardest thing for me to take right now is very soon after the game.
02:23I'm an emotional person.
02:24That's just unacceptable.
02:26The word is unacceptable.
02:28We lost 80% of duels.
02:31We didn't win a header.
02:33Two of the goals come when we can head the ball, the basics of football, and we don't.
02:36At any level, if you make those errors and lack of engagement to the game,
02:42you're not going to win games of football.
02:43It's up.
02:43And Liam, the way you're talking about players' performance feels like you're saying
02:48they're not playing for you, basically, on both bases.
02:53No.
02:54At the moment, whether it's playing for me, it's not about playing for me.
02:58It's about playing for the club.
03:00It's about playing for the show.
03:01It's about playing to win games of football.
03:04I can't speak on what I saw tonight.
03:08You can read anything into it that you want, whether they're playing for me or not.
03:12That performance in itself was damning of everything.
03:15It's stood everything against what I believe in.
03:17Do you think the players are able to take that kind of decision?
03:21We'll find out.
03:23I haven't criticized them up to now.
03:24I haven't.
03:25I've defended them.
03:26They've deserved that.
03:27But I can't tell the truth.
03:28I always come out here and tell the truth.
03:30And I blame myself as well.
03:32It's not just blaming the players.
03:33I'm part of that process.
03:35Finish with John.
03:36John.
03:37Is it a gamble that you've missed sometimes for a manager to be quite so open,
03:40to be quite so brutal about the players?
03:42Or is it, you know, you just need that reaction?
03:44No, I just, I always said I will be honest.
03:48And I've been honest with the players.
03:49And I'm honest with you, as honest as I can.
03:51I'm not throwing anyone under the bus.
03:53That was an unacceptable performance.
03:54And I'm at the head of that.
03:56So for me to come out here, we're playing for Chelsea.
03:59I'm managing Chelsea.
04:00Chelsea, the criticism and pressure comes with the football club.
04:03So if you can't handle that, then you shouldn't be here.
04:06It's as simple as that.
04:07And that's something that needs to be addressed this week.
04:10But it also needs to be addressed in a long term.
04:12It needs to be addressed.
04:14Do you think you've gotten that time to address that before?
04:17Sunday, Sunday is such a crucial game.
04:20I need to make that time.
04:22I need to work with the staff 24 hours a day.
04:25We need to make the correct decisions for the team for a massive game on Sunday.
04:29And we'll do the very, very best we can to turn it around.
04:32Thanks, guys.
