03:09is fully open and ready for business and full passage.

03:17Then on Saturday, Iran contradicted that moment of triumph,
03:22saying the Strait was not open for business,
03:24it was closed for business,
03:25and that they had in no way agreed to hand over their uranium
03:29or any of the stuff.
03:31The statement was false, which this is all very...
03:33Especially for those of us who grew up in the 80s,
03:35did you ever imagine you would be more likely to believe the Ayatollah
03:39than the President of the United States?
03:42Or that we would be hearing the words
03:47Strait of Hormuz 12 times a day?
03:50Our whole lives, the Strait of Hormuz has been so wide open,
03:53we didn't even know it existed.
03:56We put Trump in charge, and in eight weeks,
03:58it's been blocked more times than Melania's bedroom door.
04:03And still, with all of this happening,
04:07Trump says the war in Iran is going along swimmingly.
04:11Yeah, they're swimming because no one could move their boats anymore.
04:16And because things are going so swimmingly,
04:18yesterday, Trump posted,
04:20Iran decided to fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz,
04:23a total violation of our ceasefire agreement.
04:25Many of them were aimed at a French ship and a freighter from the United Kingdom.
04:29That wasn't nice, was it?
04:31I don't know which bothers me more,
04:33the fact that this unnecessary war is still dragging on,
04:36or that our President talks to us like we're in pre-K.
04:39But we are offering a very fair and reasonable deal,
04:43and I hope they take it because if they don't,
04:45the U.S. is going to knock out every single power plant
04:48and every single bridge in Iran.

05:42while they were getting updates on the situation.
05:45At one point, they handed him an iPad and said,
05:47sit down, be quiet, make some pictures of the U.S. Jesus.
05:51The same story says Trump also floated the idea of giving himself the Congressional Medal of Honor,
05:56which is the highest of all the military honors.
05:59Can you imagine if Trump gave himself the...
06:03I mean, of course you can imagine it, yes.
06:07He accepted the Nobel Prize as a gift, but what if he doesn't?
06:10What if he puts that around his own neck?

08:26when all the headlines are about
08:28our soon-to-be former FBI director, Cash Patel.
08:31Now, The Atlantic published a doozy of a story
08:34about him over the weekend.
08:35They said, Cash Patel was so worried about getting the ax
08:38when he had an issue logging onto his computer 10 days ago,
08:41he thought he'd been locked out and panicked.
08:44He started frantically calling aides
08:46to announce that he'd been fired,
08:48according to nine people familiar with this outreach.
08:52He called nine people to tell him he'd been fired.
08:55Turned out it was just an IT issue.
08:59Oops.
09:00Patel is reportedly deeply concerned
09:02that he's about to get fired,
09:03which, why, I don't know.
09:05Does this look like a paranoid guy to you?
09:09But the story says he has become known
09:11for bouts of excessive drinking
09:13and unexplained absences,
09:16so much so that on multiple occasions in the past year,
09:20members of his security detail had difficulty waking him
09:24because he was seemingly intoxicated.

33:40going to be successful or not, that it would become like a stoner classic?

33:47And I have to say, like, today, even today, people come up to, uh, me on the street and
33:53offer joints, not just on a day as auspicious as 420.

35:21Do you have, like, is there something that really stands out for you when you're thinking
35:25of, like, of the actual making of that film?
35:28Yeah, there are a couple things.
35:29You know, we, in the second film, um, instead of a topless party, the guys go to a bottomless
35:34party.
35:35Right.
35:35And the, the first shot of that scene...
35:37It's a good idea, by the way.
35:38Phenomenal idea.
35:40They, uh, um, John Cho said to me before we started shooting that scene, remember this
35:45day, because people will talk about how we did a bottomless party instead of a topless
35:50one.
35:50And he wasn't wrong.
35:51Like, that had, that had happened.
35:52Now, would you and John, have you ever, do you talk about, ever talk about doing another
35:57of these films?
35:58We have talked about doing another one of these, and, and what's been, what's been crazy over
36:02the last 20 years is some of my favorite projects that I've worked on stemmed from Harold and
36:06Kumar.
36:07Like what?
36:07Go to White Castle.
36:08So, I, I'm, uh, in season four of Industry on HBO.
36:11Okay.
36:12And, uh, Mickey and Conrad, the two guys who created that show, are big Harold and Kumar
36:15fans.
36:15And that's how they thought of you?
36:17And that's how they thought of me for this.
36:18Wow.
36:18So, anytime somebody asks me, are we doing a fourth one, I always think of all the,
36:22like, the joyous stuff that we got to work on because of it.
36:25Uh, so John Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who created the franchise, are writing the fourth
36:29movie with Josh Heald, who they created Cobra Kai with, um, and we're hoping to make a
36:35fourth movie.
36:35Oh, that's great.
36:37They're writing it right now.
36:38Oh, that's great.
36:39Yeah.
36:39And I've seen the outline.
36:41They, they've walked me through the outline.
36:43It's, it, I, I hope we get to make this thing.
36:45It's very, very fun.
36:45One of the most, one of the best things I think about the whole deal is listening to
36:50the marketing guy at White Castle talk about how he had to, like, get his boss on board with
36:56this idea of using their franchise in this film.
37:01And I think it was a really ballsy thing to do.
37:04It was ballsy, but I also feel like it, that conversation had to be like, you know our audience,
37:09right?
37:09You know who, you know who comes at two in the morning, right?
37:12We should do this.
37:13Well, you know, corporations tend to be very, very conservative when it comes to that kind of stuff.
37:18Especially back then, for, for something, it was, weed was very illegal.
37:22Yeah, right.
37:22And it's very not today.
37:23Yeah.
37:24At least in most places.
37:25It could have been Harold and Kumar go to Arby's had things gone differently.
37:28Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
37:28It doesn't have the same ring.
37:30It doesn't, and you know what, I remember talking to John Hurwitz early
37:32when we were shooting that film, and, and I was a little jaded and I thought,
37:36I, I don't think you can get two guys who look like us to make a movie like this.
37:40Yeah.
37:40Before he sold it.
37:41And he said, Cal, I am making Harold and Kumar go to White Castle.
37:44I am not making David and Jason go to McDonald's.
37:47And I just thought that was very funny.
37:48And he, you know, they, they sold their script.
