Plans for a new memorial in St James’s Park will feature statues of the late Queen and Prince Philip. The design is now being shown to the royal family ahead of public display in central London.

00:01Plans for a memorial to Queen Elizabeth
00:03the second have been revealed with a
00:05statue planned for central London. The
00:07tribute will overlook the Mall near
00:09St James's Park featuring a bronze
00:12sculpture by artist Martin Jennings
00:14inspired by a 1955 portrait of the
00:17Queen aged 28. It will show her in early
00:20rain robes of the Order of the Garter
00:22with a separate statue of Prince Philip
00:24placed behind in his naval uniform.
00:27Miniature models of the design are now
00:29on display at the British Museum ahead of
00:32a royal family viewing of the plans. A bust
00:34portraying Queen Elizabeth in her more
00:36mature years will also be created by
00:38artist Karen Newman and placed on the
00:40opposite side of the park.
