Plans for a new national memorial to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip have been approved in central London. The project includes gardens, sculptures and public spaces designed for visitors from across the UK.

00:00A national memorial to Queen Elizabeth II is set to be built in St James' Park in London.
00:06This comes after planning permission was approved.
00:09The scheme will include a statue of the late Queen, who died in 2022, placed at Marlborough

00:15A companion statue of Prince Philip will also be installed.
00:19The existing Grade II listed Marlborough gates will be dismantled and moved south.
00:24Plans also include a wider bridge, a memorial path and a Commonwealth wind sculpture.

00:36elements for visitors of all ages across the UK, with work expected to continue ahead.
