00:00Hey everyone, it's Sharona from Pay Your Weight, and today I'm going to be reviewing and recapping
00:03Euphoria Season 3, Episode 2, America My Dream, alright?
00:09This is probably, I really like the subject matter of this episode, especially as somebody
00:14who just really fell for the American dream, who fell for this whole idea that you go to
00:19college, you get good grades, and you work hard, and you get a job, and as long as you
00:23do what you're supposed to do, and you go above and beyond, and you sacrifice your personal
00:27life that all these things are going to happen to you, all these good things, these promotions,
00:31and more money, and this and that, and that is a lie, that is a lie, if you guys are
00:36young
00:36watching this, don't listen to me, okay, I'm a little jaded, but to be honest, you might
00:40want to listen to me, because it's a lie, don't let them, don't, don't, don't let them lie
00:44to you, because they gonna lie to you, they gonna lie to you, don't fall for it, because
00:49I fell for it, alright?
00:51So, we see that Alexa Demi, she gets more screen time this episode with Maddie, and honestly,
00:56I really hope that they keep this up, because I just felt like she's deserved something
01:00meatier since seasons one and two, and I really hope that season three is gonna do what needs
01:05to be done, but we see that she walks into that restaurant, and she said, you know what,
01:08I am a child of immigrants, okay, I believe in capitalism, I'm gonna do what needs to be
01:13done, you're not gonna get no HR complaints out of me, because I'm gonna be a hard worker,
01:17honey, I'm not gonna be entitled like the rest of the people in my generation, that's not
01:21gonna be me, sweetheart, so you need to go ahead and hire me, and then she did that actual
01:24thing, the lady, the talent manager's phone rang, and then she answered the phone like
01:28she was her receptionist, I said, I know that's right, Maddie, you better go, go get
01:32it, what they say, pull them up by the bootstraps, I see her making use of her American dream,
01:38alright?
01:39Now, I like that we have all of our characters in Hollywood, because as somebody who works
01:44in Hollywood in some way, shape, or form, I just feel like a lot of people think because
01:48you have, you are, you have access to people with money, that you are making money, and
01:53that's just absolutely not true, and so I really like that we get to see Maddie's journey as
01:57somebody who starts as an assistant to a talent manager, because that's something that Maddie
02:01wants to do herself, and then we even see her find a young woman by the name of Caitlin,
02:06who she sees on social media, she meets up with her, and she kind of like, you know, she
02:10kind of gets her together, like, hey, this is what you should be doing on social, I thought
02:14it was really funny when Caitlin was leaving, and her mom was like, what if something happens
02:18to you, and she was like, I'm young, nothing's going to happen to me, and I was like, now
02:22girl, that, that's not how the pandemic went, but okay, girl, like, I'm glad everything worked
02:28out for you, but I like this whole idea that just when things felt like they were going
02:32in this right place, you know, the pandemic happened, and everything shut down, and that's
02:36kind of something that similarly, I don't know why I struggle with saying that word, but
02:42that's what happened to me, like, I had my first interview where they flew me out, I got
02:47flewed out, and I was talking to Samuel L. Jackson, and Nia Long, and Anthony Mackie,
02:52and I was like, mama, I made it, like, my life's been to turn around, I was supposed
02:56to meet Beyonce Mama at an event in Atlanta, and then the whole world shut down, and it,
03:03it was a long time before I got flewed out ever again, all right, and so I was really,
03:08like, this was really speaking to me, I actually really like this episode, minus some of the
03:11dialogue that happens in this episode, but I like that they showed how the pandemic,
03:17and I will say the pandemic was kind of a blessing in disguise, because virtual interviews
03:21happen, and that's how I was able to, like, you know, do the things that I do now, but
03:25I was really able to, like, relate and resonate, you know, with feeling like you're almost there,
03:30and then something like this happening, and just really changing the world as we know it.
03:36Um, so she finds the girl Caitlin, and so she, I like how we see this progression of her being
03:41like, oh, you just take sexy pictures and post these things, and, you know, you have to have
03:45a moral code, so we're just, you're not going to be nude, we're going to imply nudity, right?
03:50You know, we're going to just have the, the pants a little low, or, you know, we're going
03:54to have your legs spread, but you still have on underwear, you see how the line keeps moving,
04:01right?
04:01What is morally acceptable?
04:03You know, what is nudity?
04:05Oh, you're just showing your feet.
04:06Now, y'all, y'all heard Maddie talk about the feet, okay?
04:09Now, y'all know I've been going back and forth if I need to do a feet only, fans, and
04:14I felt
04:14like, was that a sign?
04:16That wasn't a sign, what is it?
04:17But is it a sign?
04:18Because if it is a sign, let me know, because I got some bills that need to be paid.
04:22But yeah, um, I like how you see this back and forth with her constantly, like, edging
04:28her, nudging her little by little to kind of, like, not sell your soul, but really
04:32sell your soul or your morals of what you think is socially acceptable.
04:37Um, and so, you know, it turned into, like, get these pictures.
04:40These are, like, the most racy set of pictures yet.
04:43I like how we see all of this.
04:46And we see that Maddie's, you know, having a tough time.
04:48Her mother, you know, her salon had to close during the pandemic.
04:51And so, not only is she trying to survive out in California, she's also trying to send
04:56money, you know, to her mom at the same time, trying to make sure she keeps her salon afloat
05:01back home.
05:02And so, um, we see that she's living the dream, but a part of the American dream, you get this
05:08hustle, but sometimes you feel like you're constantly underwater.
05:12And no matter how much you keep climbing and climbing to get out, the more money you make,
05:16the more expenses that you have.
05:17Like, you're just never actually able to get out of the hamster wheel.
05:21And so, that's why I really liked, you know, this whole thing.
05:24And especially seeing how, you know, people reacted to OnlyFans, right?
05:28Um, her manager ends up finding out about her having a side client just because, you
05:34know, her boss manages Dylan Reed.
05:36And then she had her, him meet up with Caitlyn.
05:38And so, then that got the paparazzi.
05:40And you saw that they call it a porn star.
05:42And all she's doing is showing her feet in some photos.
05:44Like, go ahead and do what you gotta do, Caitlyn.
05:46I saw Caitlyn with that $700,000 check, though, in one month, in one month.
05:52Lord, I see what you're doing for others.
05:54If you need to do it for me, do it.
05:56Just do it.
05:58Okay.
05:59Now, she's lucky she didn't get fired.
06:00Because technically, like, how are you managing someone like you didn't tell me?
06:04And people are assuming because you work for me that somehow they're a part of my roster.
06:09And I can see, like, why her boss was upset.
06:11She was on the wrong side of history because she really could have been making a good commission.
06:15Because $70,000 in one month, yes, honey, okay?
06:19And I think that's even, like, now how people judge people that are on OnlyFans and how they've used that
06:26to stop them from trying to get employment.
06:27And a lot of times, like, when people see other people making a lot of money, they try to put
06:32obstacles in their way to stop them from being able to make that money.
06:36And I just like how we saw how her boss judged her.
06:41But then you see a year later, now this girl is making $700,000 a month.
06:44And then because Maddie's boss wasn't able to see the vision, Maddie lost out on money as well.
06:49And sometimes Maddie needs to know the discernment or sometimes you got to bet on yourself.
06:54And that's a really hard decision to make.
06:56Because at least with this lady, she has eight-star talent and she has a steady job.
07:01And you just know that, hey, people are going to respect this.
07:04But it's so hard to bet on yourself.
07:06And I know Maddie was kicking herself like, dang, if I would have just bet on myself a little bit
07:09longer,
07:10like, I would be making dumb money right now and not bringing in, like, $800.
07:16You know, which ain't even going to cover the rent, okay?
07:18So, we see that Maddie ends up getting a message from Cassie talking about, like,
07:24hey, girl, I miss you.
07:24Let's get lunch.
07:25And I said, bitch, that's all you got to say?
07:28After taking my man and you're supposed to be my best friend and you were banging my man behind my
07:32back?
07:34Hey, girl, I miss you?
07:35Bitch, I don't miss you.
07:36I hope you burn in hell.
07:38That don't even make sense.
07:39That's all you had to say to me?
07:40So, I guess because Maddie was like, you know, she saw the little doggy videos or whatnot.
07:46I guess she decided that she was going to meet up with her.
07:49I thought it was really funny when she was telling Rue because Rue's like, girl,
07:53who are you getting ready for this meeting for?
07:55And then she, like, does this.
07:57And then she's like, what?
07:58Round two?
07:59Ding, ding, ding.
08:00And I was just like, I just love Rue.
08:02She's so chaotic for absolutely no reason.
08:04And this is why I just love her.
08:06She ain't got no sense.
08:07But I was thinking the same thing.
08:08Like, you gonna slap her?
08:09Just give her a good little, ah!
08:11Like, just a little slap.
08:12She deserved it.
08:13Like, just a little something.
08:14I don't condone violence, but I'm just saying, all right?
08:16And while we're talking about Cassie, this is one of my issues that I have with this
08:20season.
08:21And this is one of my issues just in general.
08:23Like, I feel as though, I understand that, you know, Euphoria and Sydney's been playing
08:28this character, Cassie, for two seasons.
08:30And this is kind of like the Cassie that we've known.
08:32But I just feel like, as an actress, like, you have evolved now.
08:37You do not have to do this crazy stuff.
08:39Like, seeing Cassie taking these pictures, like, desperate for attention.
08:43If I gotta see Sydney's titties one more time, I just don't understand it.
08:47Like, you don't have to be nude to do all of this stuff.
08:50You see how they were showing Kayla's photos?
08:52That's it.
08:53You ain't gotta do all of that.
08:54And I know you're gonna be like, Sharona, but that's the storyline, right?
08:57Women now feel like they have to sell their body.
08:59They have to show titties.
09:01They gotta be nude.
09:02They gotta do something provocative to get people wanting to sign up.
09:06Honey, I watch a lady that crushes eggs with her feet.
09:10And she's getting paid.
09:11And she ain't have to show no titty to do that, all right?
09:14And I think that's a part of the misconceptions about what it actually is to live the American
09:19dream.
09:19Like, do you have to sell a piece of your soul to make money?
09:23Do you have to show your body to get men to want to be interested in you?
09:27I just think it's interesting how we're examining all these things.
09:29But I do feel like for Sydney Sweeney as an actress, after Euphoria, I understand y'all
09:35gotta fulfill your contracts.
09:37But after this, I just, I think it's because I think nudity is fine.
09:42I don't have an issue with nudity, if it makes sense.
09:45I just feel like a lot of times when she is nude, I feel like they're objectifying her.
09:53And that is not necessarily for the art.
09:55It's really to just appease the desires of men.
09:59And that's how I felt.
10:00That's why I felt so icky with this whole thing.
10:02But maybe that's the point, right?
10:04You have these women who want to be seen, who want to feel like they're validated.
10:08And they feel like the only ways that they can do that is through their self-worth, through
10:11their body.
10:12And so you see her humiliating herself, even though that baseball photo ate, I ain't even
10:16gonna hold you.
10:17I was like, okay, I see you.
10:20But it's just sad that like somebody who lives in this nice neighborhood with all these people
10:25with money, you know, her house ugly.
10:28So I'm not even gonna say nice house because they house ugly as hell.
10:30But you see her still trying to be like, I want to be famous.
10:34I want to be so famous that I want to reach out to my ex best friend that I did
10:38hella dirty
10:38all these years ago.
10:39And I'm going to reach out to her not to apologize, but really to get advice.
10:44And then Maddie quickly picked up on this.
10:46I like how Maddie made sure that she was late to the meeting to make it seem like, you know,
10:50she was out here working.
10:51And I think that's another thing too.
10:53And I think that's a thing that I saw like in the first three episodes is a lot of people
10:57are envious of somebody else's life, but you don't know what's really happening behind
11:01closed doors.
11:02People only present the image that they want to present to the world.
11:05And I just really wish that people would stop living, watching other people's lives
11:09and that they would actually go out and live because Cassie is doing all of these things
11:14like telling her like, well, you know, all these people are like always jealous of me.
11:18And, you know, I see these girls that are making money and stuff and they're not pretty.
11:22And she was like, but it's not about that.
11:24These girls have promotion.
11:25They got personality.
11:26They have taste.
11:27There's things that they're doing and people are so quick to just look like, well, why do
11:31they have this?
11:32And why do they have that?
11:33Instead of just figuring out how I'm going to get to the bag and how I'm going to actually
11:36show the real me and do that.
11:38And you can tell that through Cassie's video, she's just so desperate and she's trying anything
11:44to be popular.
11:46And what I'm really confused about is why Nate is really okay with all of this, but we'll
11:50get into Nate's storyline after this.
11:52But I like that Maddie kind of got her together.
11:57Like you're not being yourself.
11:58You're a big fish in a small pond because you're out here with these little suburban
12:03housewives.
12:03But here in the city, honey, everybody's beautiful.
12:07Everybody got body.
12:08Everybody got some tickle bitties.
12:10All right.
12:11There's you look just like all the other blonde hair, blue eyed girls out here.
12:16Pretty girls that are trying to make it.
12:17You got to have something that's different.
12:19And I just feel like so many people are missing this right now.
12:21And especially with social media and people being able to make money on like TikTok and
12:26all of these things is like you see everybody literally just doing what everybody else does.
12:31It don't be nothing special to it.
12:33It'll be nothing different than people wondering like, well, why things aren't working out for
12:36me?
12:36Let me stop preaching because I feel like I'm preaching and I'm gonna stop.
12:41I'm gonna stop.
12:41Okay.
12:41So, um, we realized like, you know, I think Maddie kind of felt a little bit better.
12:48Like this girl stayed with Nate all these years just to like clear her conscience and
12:51wait for a ring to feel like losing her best friend was worth it.
12:55And then, um, we see that later in the episode, this girl won't $50,000 worth of florals.
13:03Okay.
13:03And like I said, your husband ain't got no money, sweetheart.
13:06And you really chose wrong, but I, hopefully you learn this sooner rather than later.
13:12I pray that you learn this before y'all actually get married.
13:15But in a world of euphoria, I doubt that that's actually going to happen.
13:17And so we see that, um, we see that they have this party and then she talks to her little
13:23best friend who is not her friend.
13:25She's not your friend.
13:26She doesn't like you.
13:28Everything you tell her, she go right back to her husband to tell, tell him.
13:31And it's crazy because she's show her the pictures, which I was like, Cassie, I don't
13:35know why in your mind you think this is normal and you think that this is okay.
13:40But even she was like, girl, why are you a baby?
13:43Why are you just like a baby with your legs spread?
13:45Like, this is weird.
13:48Yuck.
13:48Okay.
13:49That's what it's giving.
13:50And so she shows her these pictures.
13:52She goes right to her husband and tells him everything.
13:54And then after the party is over, Nate calls her in and he was just like, Cassie, can I
14:00see your phone?
14:00And she was like, no, I'm not going to give you my phone.
14:02And then this girl basically told on herself, she looking back at her neighbor, like, did
14:06you tell him about my OnlyFans?
14:07And I said, girl, you always sitting in person snitching on yourself.
14:10It don't make no dang old sense.
14:11But this is why I felt like Nate was just not himself because he just very calmly was
14:16like, hey, you, like, why is everybody telling me that my wife is taking all these photos
14:21and stuff like that?
14:22And then she was like, what you talking about?
14:24Behind your bag?
14:26Ho, you gave me the blessing to go ahead and do it.
14:28Don't sit up here and play with me, ho.
14:30And then I was just like, dad, you snitching on your husband in front of the company.
14:33But honestly, the way that they was carrying on, you couldn't even wait till y'all got home
14:37to then snitch so it wouldn't have led back to you.
14:40It just made no sense.
14:41But he did try to look out for his wife and say, like, oh, someone else, someone else said
14:45something.
14:45I was like, at least he, at least he got his wife back.
14:48But yeah, so they're going back and forth.
14:51Basically, she tells him, well, it's not my fault that you ain't got no money to pay for
14:53this wedding.
14:54I said, Cassie, girl, not telling all you business.
14:58You calling him broke and he broke, broke.
15:00So then he has to agree to this.
15:03So she deletes her account and then he agrees to pay for all of the flowers.
15:06And then they talk about, oh, should we go?
15:08I mean, you should have left when you saw them having an argument.
15:11You wait till all the juicy stuff happens to then leave.
15:14But Juana, their housekeeper, she was killing me.
15:17Because when she was asking about these things, like, should I keep the vegetables?
15:20Do we need to keep the meat?
15:21And I was like, Juana, girl, if you don't ask me one more effing question, honey, it's
15:26going to be your last day at work.
15:28This is going to be your last shift to clock into.
15:31Okay?
15:32Stop asking all these dang old questions.
15:34Ugh.
15:35But yeah, so outside of that, that's why I just feel like this is not Nate that we
15:40know.
15:40If Cassie would have did some stuff like that to the old Nate and then embarrassed him
15:44in front of his, like, friends and stuff, like, what?
15:49What?
15:50Do you hear me?
15:52And then at the end of the night when they're having a conversation in bed and he was just
15:55like, you know, because a lot of people in my childhood lied to me, sir, do not try
16:00to weaponize the trauma that you experienced as a teenager against me now.
16:05You're a grown adult.
16:06You're grown.
16:08All right?
16:08Talking about people kept secrets from me.
16:10You the one that's keeping secrets from her that you broke.
16:12See, that parent, like, the same thing that you said made you mad.
16:15That's what you're doing to your wife right now.
16:16That don't make no dang old sense, Nate.
16:18Always up here lying for no reason.
16:20Now, that's the old Nate I know.
16:22But him being so cool with everything that she did was just, it was actually kind of
16:26crazy.
16:27And then he was, she was like, well, I talked to Maddie.
16:29He was like, my Maddie.
16:30And I was like, my Maddie, what you talking about?
16:32She was like, well, she was my best friend.
16:34He was like, she was my ex-girlfriend.
16:35I was like, so are y'all both going to fight over Maddie?
16:37Because this just makes no sense.
16:38And even Nate was just like, so you invited her to the wedding?
16:41Like, is this revenge?
16:43And she was like, everybody isn't in love with you.
16:46And I was just like, well, it seemed like a lot of y'all helpless were and I really don't
16:49understand the allure.
16:50But we do get to see, we do get to see Cal.
16:57And I really, I had, at first when I watched this, I kind of didn't like that they had
17:03used kind of, you can tell that the ALS had affected Eric Dane's speech.
17:10And I don't like that they use like the alcoholism as a reason why he might be slurring his words.
17:16But honestly, I had to give it up to the Lord because I'm sure whatever conversations
17:20that Eric had with Sam, like that was a conversation that they both had in regards to, you know,
17:26whatever it took for him to make sure that he was involved in this season.
17:29So then I was just like, you know what, if he wanted this as a storyline and that's a
17:33conversation that both of them had and they were at peace with it, then it's not for me
17:36to say anything.
17:37But I couldn't see how it might bother some people just in regards to like how they utilize
17:45like, you know, one of his symptoms from ALS with his speech.
17:49But it was nice to see him.
17:51I love the charm that he still had.
17:53I like that him and Nate, you know, are still friends after Nate was the one responsible for
17:58turning him in and getting him.
18:00Um, well, he's not responsible because honestly, if you weren't messing with underage kids,
18:04then you wouldn't have been in trouble.
18:05You wouldn't be on the sex offender list.
18:07So let me not do that.
18:08Let me not shift, shift blame.
18:10Okay.
18:10Cause that's what we're not going to do.
18:11All right.
18:12Um, but he tells him like, Hey, I heard your girl selling nudes.
18:16He was like, where you heard that from?
18:17He said, he's like, sly.
18:19He's like, sly sex, what is sex love addict?
18:22And I was just like, I mean, well, at least you're going to your class, but why they know
18:26that shouldn't y'all not be looking and naked photos and stuff.
18:29Like I'm just saying, isn't it the whole point of the class?
18:32I was just a little confused by that, but it is what it is.
18:35Um, and he asked him like, are you having financial issues?
18:38Cause why is your girl slanging her body all over OnlyFans anyway?
18:41Then we find out that Nate does owe this man Nas money, but he owe this man $550,000.
18:46Talking about it next week is going to be $600,000.
18:49I said, Nate, sweetheart, you don't have that type of money, sweetie.
18:53And you're trying to get more investors.
18:55You're trying to lie to all these people, throw this barbecue.
18:57No, no, sir.
18:59Absolutely not.
19:00And so he told him like, Hey, I need my hundred K by the end of the week on Friday.
19:03And I said, how are you going to give him a hundred K when you just gave Cassie $50,000
19:07for flowers?
19:08So I'm just kind of confused about everything.
19:10All right.
19:10So then him and Cal are going back and forth.
19:12And then he was like, you're gay.
19:14He was like, I'm not gay.
19:15He was like, you were banging dudes.
19:17And he was like, I was a pitcher, not a catcher.
19:19And I was just like, not Cal.
19:22Then he was like, I was a heat on this.
19:23I said, sweetheart, wherever you fall on the LBGT, LB LGBTQIA plus, whatever timeline that
19:32that's your business.
19:33You can't even say you're pansexual, sweetheart, but no, no, Cal.
19:38No, no, sweetie.
19:39Absolutely not.
19:40Okay.
19:40But I thought the whole banter back and forth, I just thought it was really funny.
19:44And I just, I really liked Eric Dane in this episode.
19:47Um, and I'm just happy that they not beefing.
19:48All right.
19:50So let's talk about Rue.
19:51All right.
19:52So Rue, she thinks she didn't got this promotion.
19:55Now she cleaning pig, pig crap.
19:58Okay.
19:58She cleaning pig pool, but I guess to her, this is better than her swallowing all them bags
20:03and trying to smuggle herself back and forth to Mexico.
20:05So then she covering up the dead bodies because we saw that Tish, uh, passed away from a fit
20:10and all, uh, overdose, which I do like that, um, Sam has talked about addiction, especially
20:17with everything that happened with, uh, Angus.
20:20And I like that he's showing how easy it is for people to die from these things.
20:25And so I do like that he's spreading more awareness about it.
20:28Um, and also showcasing in characters like Angel, who we see later in the episode does
20:33decides to go ahead and seek treatment.
20:35And so Alamo and Lori got beefed because he lost one of his hoes and you know, he was
20:41like, Hey, you messed up.
20:43You didn't apologize.
20:44And then she was like, well, you hang out with horrors.
20:46So who knows what they were doing?
20:47And I was like, Lori, I don't, I don't think that's the point, sweetheart.
20:50And then we later found out that it was Faye and them fault because he didn't tell her
20:54to clean off the scale.
20:55It only takes a little bit to kill somebody.
20:57And so, yeah, it actually really was your fault.
21:00So then Alamo was like, I need reparations.
21:03And then the dude was like, you take them reparations and shove up your end hard are behind.
21:09And I was just like, now granted, does he look like somebody that will say something
21:13like that?
21:13Absolutely.
21:14Did we need to have all of this in there?
21:17No.
21:18And I was just like, was it necessary, Sam?
21:22Was it necessary?
21:24Cause I don't think it was.
21:26But even if I let that one slide, it's a whole nother one that was absolutely not necessary
21:31at all.
21:32And I'm just very confused about it, but I'm going to keep on moving for time's sake.
21:35Okay.
21:36So I don't know why he don't know what reparations are.
21:38Clearly, like Ruth said, they inbred.
21:40So they, they not right in the head.
21:44So, um, he's basically like, you killed one of my hoes.
21:48I'm going to take one of yours.
21:49So I'm taking Ruth.
21:50And Lauren said, absolutely not.
21:51You're not going to take Ruth.
21:52And he was like, no, she, you, you got to figure it out.
21:56I'm going to take Ruth and that's going to be that.
21:58And so Ruth was happy.
21:59But then she said, she feels like she made a deal with the devil.
22:02And I was like, well, honestly, everybody, the devil at this point.
22:05So I mean, might as well be with the devil.
22:08You know, I don't know.
22:09I really want you to just get your life together, but clearly you're not going to do that.
22:12So she gets a job at the silver, uh, supper, like the silver slipper, something.
22:17And basically it's a strip club.
22:19And so she's basically wrangling a girl selling drugs.
22:22And we see Kadeem, um, Hardison, who he works at the club.
22:26He wasn't happy to see Ruth.
22:27He was like, wow, he hired a woman.
22:29Like, go figure.
22:30But we get our KC undercover reunion.
22:32So I love seeing them together.
22:34Probably not the project that they thought that they were going to be working with each other on.
22:37This is the far, far cry from the Disney channel.
22:40All right.
22:40But we see that, you know, she's working at the club.
22:44You know, she like hoes and it's naked hoes everywhere.
22:46And so she's okay with this.
22:48So I'm just like, Ruth, actually, things might be looking up for you.
22:51All right.
22:51So we see that Ruth is, she's kind of excited about this job.
22:56She really feels like, okay, I feel like I'm living my dream.
22:59Okay.
22:59I get to see titties everywhere I go.
23:01And then I'm selling new drugs.
23:03People offer me drugs.
23:03Like, I'm living an American dream myself right now.
23:06And so she sees that we meet one of the girls, Angel, who's played by Priscilla Delgado.
23:12And I thought she did a really great job with her performance in this episode, minus the one thing that
23:16she had to say.
23:17But I thought she did a really fantastic job.
23:19So she plays one of the girls who was really close to Tish.
23:21And so she's really been going through it because she was just like, my friend wouldn't just leave me.
23:25She wouldn't just stop answering the phone.
23:27Alamo keeps saying, like, she fell in love.
23:29And then she's like, at your house.
23:30Like, how does that make sense?
23:31So she knows that someone's not telling her the truth.
23:33Okay.
23:34And so we learned that in a conversation.
23:41Actually, no.
23:42She actually goes to do a dance.
23:44And both of them was off beat.
23:45She was dancing for some dude, Mr. Rolex.
23:46And the fact that she had to ask him to, did you take a shower today?
23:49Which I'm just like, that's like my worst fear.
23:51Because, like, dudes be so trifling too.
23:53And they just don't believe in showers and stuff.
23:55So the fact that she had to ask him that before she blew him.
23:57I mean, yeah, you should ask that question.
23:59But it was just too much for me.
24:01They all off beat.
24:02He's snorting drugs off her nipples.
24:04It was just a lot going on.
24:05Okay.
24:06So we go to Rue talking to Maddie.
24:09Where Maddie kind of tells, um,
24:14Rue, like, Maddie, Rue kind of looses.
24:16She knows about the whole sugar baby thing.
24:18And she tells her, like, you know, hey, when I'm working with Uber,
24:21like, I just have all this time to think about, like,
24:22how I haven't talked to my mom in two years.
24:24How Gia didn't respond to my text message.
24:26And how I'm always thinking about Rue.
24:28And she's like, you trying to get back with Rue?
24:29And she's like, don't worry about all of that.
24:31But when I'm at the club, you know,
24:32everything moving fast.
24:33There's a lot happening.
24:34And I feel like I'm in my bag.
24:36All right.
24:36So it's a lot going on in the strip club.
24:39Because we see Magic, who's played by Rosalia.
24:42She's in there.
24:42She got her little bedazzled neck brace.
24:44And he was like, take that neck brace off.
24:45That don't make no sense.
24:46And I'm just like, if the girl neck hurt,
24:48at least she came to work and she trying to dance.
24:50She can't dance in the neck brace.
24:52That don't even make no sense.
24:53Now, Rosalie, I don't know why you needed to, like,
24:55come on here and play this character.
24:59Because, like, she didn't really, like,
25:01do that much in the episode.
25:02But I guess you just wanted to, like,
25:04get to the bag and say he was on Euphoria.
25:05I guess that's fine.
25:06You know, it's okay.
25:09But we see that Alamo is really upset
25:11about this pic comment.
25:12Like, they called you to end her ER.
25:15But the one thing that stuck with him was this pic comment.
25:18Because this man talked about it the entire episode.
25:20And he was just like,
25:21that's one of the worst things somebody can call you.
25:22And I was just like,
25:23so the other word that wasn't bad to you?
25:28That didn't bother you?
25:29It was the pic comment that bothered your spirit?
25:32Okay.
25:32That's on you, baby.
25:33That's on you.
25:33So, we see that Angel's still trying to figure out where Tish is.
25:41And she's still upset.
25:42But Rue, you know, she was kind of looking at Angel
25:45since, like, she first came to the club, okay?
25:48And so, you know, Angel was like,
25:51hey, you know, I got some drugs.
25:53And then, Rue, baby, let me tell you something.
25:56I know Rue put in that work, honey.
25:58She was putting it at work.
26:00She was putting in some mouth action on Angel.
26:03The way that Angel was screaming in that little minivan,
26:06like, whoo!
26:07They was getting it in.
26:09I said, I know that's right, Rue.
26:10Rue looked like she was real proud of herself, too.
26:12So, I ain't even mad at it, all right?
26:14I'm not even mad about it.
26:16So,
26:19we see that
26:21Angel is a hothead.
26:22She's still upset.
26:24She threw a shoe.
26:25Like, we see that she threw a shoe
26:27at Kadeem's character.
26:29His nose was bleeding.
26:30Then, she tried to throw a shoe at Rue.
26:32She hit Rue with the shoe.
26:33And then, she was like,
26:34I'm sick of all you B-A-N words.
26:36And then, this is when I was like,
26:37Sam, Sam,
26:39where the handcuffs at, okay?
26:41Because, like,
26:42why?
26:42This just wasn't needed.
26:44Why did she have to say
26:45the bitch A-N words?
26:46That just didn't make no sense.
26:48Like, why?
26:49It was so unnecessary.
26:51You should just
26:51could have called them the B-word
26:52and that would have been fine.
26:53And then, Rue was saying,
26:54oh, so I'm a B?
26:55And then, when she threw the shoe
26:56and started hitting her all the shoes,
26:57it would have been a great scene.
26:58But, I was so caught up on
27:00why you would make this girl
27:01who is not black
27:03say B-A-N words
27:05that I couldn't even continue on
27:06with the scene.
27:07I actually had to pause
27:08and take a break.
27:09I just,
27:10this dialogue,
27:11like, you ain't got nobody
27:12to run this by
27:13to be like,
27:14hey, like,
27:14maybe you shouldn't say that.
27:16Or, maybe somebody did say it.
27:17And he said,
27:17I honestly don't care.
27:18I said what I said.
27:20But, no.
27:21That's not okay.
27:23So, after I got over that,
27:26Rue does end up telling her
27:28what happened.
27:28And this is sends her down
27:30an even crazier spiral.
27:32She's, you know,
27:33doing drugs.
27:33She's doing,
27:34taking,
27:34drinking alcohol,
27:36sleeping in the car.
27:37Like, she's angry all the time.
27:38And so,
27:39Rue does go to Alamo
27:41to talk to him
27:41about what's been going on.
27:42And she was just like,
27:43is there anything we can do?
27:44And then he was like,
27:45either she can leave
27:47or she can go to rehab.
27:49She's like,
27:49well, she can't afford that.
27:50And he was like,
27:51no, I'll pay for it.
27:52And she's like,
27:52oh,
27:53she's kind of like,
27:54look at these,
27:54look at these work perks.
27:56Okay?
27:57And so,
27:57I thought that was really nice
27:58that he did.
27:59He understands like,
28:00hey,
28:00it comes with the business.
28:02I get it.
28:03She can go get help
28:04and get better
28:05and do what she needs to do.
28:06And then you just need
28:07to convince her.
28:08And then, of course,
28:09anything Angel gonna do,
28:10she gonna throw a shoe.
28:11She start cursing her out
28:12because she definitely is feisty.
28:14But,
28:15I actually did like her character
28:16outside of what Sam had her saying.
28:18I thought Priscilla did
28:19absolutely a great job.
28:21And then even how you see
28:22how they handle
28:23the whole intake process.
28:24I'm sure this is like
28:24some undercover type
28:26of treatment center.
28:27But,
28:27the way that they just
28:28seemed so uninterested,
28:30it wasn't like,
28:31they were just treating her
28:32like another number.
28:33And,
28:33you see how scared she is.
28:35And it's kind of crazy,
28:36like,
28:36Rue was kind of talking to her,
28:37like,
28:37you're making a good decision.
28:38I said,
28:38bitch,
28:39you not even sober.
28:40Like,
28:40I wish you would,
28:41ma'am.
28:42Ma'am,
28:43who needs to be there,
28:44right there with Angel.
28:46Talk about,
28:47you're making a good decision.
28:48Girl,
28:48if you don't go somewhere
28:49and stop F and playing with me.
28:51So,
28:52um,
28:53she drops her off.
28:54Then we see somebody
28:55watching Rue.
28:56Now,
28:56I wonder who
28:57is watching her.
28:58Like,
28:59I don't know if it's
29:00some of Lori's people
29:00or like,
29:01what's going on.
29:02But,
29:02you know,
29:03someone's watching her.
29:04But then we also see,
29:05like,
29:05from the trailer
29:05that she kind of gets
29:06into some legal troubles.
29:07I don't know if they're
29:08watching her.
29:08I don't know what's going on.
29:09So,
29:10um,
29:11she calls and tells him,
29:12like,
29:12hey,
29:12I dropped her off.
29:13But she's really scared.
29:14And he was like,
29:15God helps those
29:16who helps themselves.
29:17And I was just like,
29:17I mean,
29:19okay,
29:19whatever.
29:20So,
29:20we get to the end of the episode.
29:21We go to Lori's house.
29:22Faye getting her back blown out.
29:23She really don't look like
29:24she's enjoying it,
29:25but she's making all the noises
29:26like she is.
29:27And then they hear
29:28a commotion upstairs.
29:29Child,
29:30Alamone got so upset
29:31that he released
29:33this big old pig
29:34in Lori's house
29:35just pooping
29:36and pissing everywhere.
29:37Now,
29:38why they told
29:38the dog,
29:39like,
29:40shame on you,
29:40Lieutenant Dan.
29:41And the fact that y'all
29:42called this dog
29:43Lieutenant Dan
29:44because he was missing
29:45one of his legs
29:45like Lieutenant Dan
29:46and Forrest Dump,
29:47I'm not gonna hold you.
29:49That got a chuckle
29:49out of me.
29:50I thought that was
29:51absolutely funny.
29:52But,
29:52um,
29:54when Faye was like,
29:55I think,
29:55is that a dinosaur?
29:56And I was like,
29:56I mean,
29:57it kind of sounded
29:57like it,
29:58but Faye,
29:58a dinosaur,
29:59girl,
30:00be for real.
30:01But we get to the end
30:01of the episode.
30:02We see that Rue goes
30:03to see Jules.
30:04Jules comes in
30:05wearing her fits.
30:07Body,
30:08body,
30:09all right.
30:10And then she goes
30:10to the penthouse.
30:10I said,
30:11now Jules,
30:12what you,
30:12what you doing
30:13with the penthouse?
30:14Huh?
30:14It seemed like
30:16Mr. Plastic Surgery
30:17man,
30:18like,
30:18got her living
30:18a good life.
30:19So she,
30:20I guess he got
30:20the penthouse
30:21and then he go
30:21back with his family.
30:22And so,
30:23Rue's like,
30:24oh,
30:24I'm trying to,
30:25you know,
30:25she kind of tells
30:26her like,
30:26hey,
30:26I'm like California
30:27sober.
30:28You know,
30:28I just drink
30:29and smoke a little weed
30:30and,
30:31you know,
30:31but I have a job
30:32and I want to get
30:32a place of my own.
30:33Maybe not a place
30:33like this.
30:35But,
30:35and then she tried
30:35to throw a little
30:36shady comment
30:36about,
30:37you know,
30:38where is he at
30:39with his family?
30:39And then,
30:40cause she tried
30:41to make her jealous
30:42like,
30:42well,
30:42I don't think
30:42my boyfriend
30:43would like that.
30:44And then,
30:45um,
30:46yeah,
30:47she kind of
30:47throws shade
30:48like,
30:48is,
30:49are you doing
30:49this cause
30:49is he a real
30:51boyfriend
30:51or is this
30:51just a financial
30:52arrangement?
30:53And then,
30:55you know,
30:57Jules talking
30:57about,
30:58you know,
30:58I don't think
30:59we were meant
30:59to be monogamous
31:00and that's just
31:01what people say
31:01when they know
31:01that they,
31:02man,
31:02not gonna be
31:03monogamous
31:03even though
31:03they want them
31:04to.
31:05And then,
31:05Rue is like,
31:07um,
31:07maybe I still
31:08got a chance
31:08then.
31:09And then she's
31:09like,
31:09you can't just
31:09show up and
31:10act like things
31:11are okay.
31:11And I do like
31:12how she talks
31:13about,
31:13we romanticize
31:14a lot of
31:14things in high
31:15school.
31:15We romanticize
31:16a lot of
31:17things that's
31:17happened when
31:17we were younger
31:19because we
31:19just built
31:20all of this
31:20up in our
31:21minds to be
31:21a certain
31:22type of way
31:22and that's
31:22not really
31:23how it
31:23actually was
31:24because Jules
31:25and Rue
31:25didn't have
31:26this lovey-dovey
31:27relationship.
31:28They had a
31:28very dysfunctional
31:29relationship
31:30in high school.
31:31And so,
31:31we see that
31:32Jules says,
31:32I'm about to
31:33take a bath
31:33and then Rue
31:34is like,
31:34oh,
31:35I'll just
31:35finish my
31:35drink and
31:36head on out
31:37and then she
31:37kind of give
31:38her a look
31:38like,
31:39or,
31:43I'm keeping
31:43company and
31:44then the
31:44episode goes
31:45off.
31:45So,
31:45I was like,
31:45go ahead,
31:47show her
31:47with that
31:47mouth,
31:48do Rue,
31:48do what
31:48you gotta
31:49do.
31:50Minus the
31:51two dialogue
31:51things,
31:52I did enjoy
31:53this episode
31:54even more
31:54than the
31:55first episode.
31:56I just think
31:56I'm a sucker
31:57for just
31:58this whole
31:58idea of
31:59living the
32:00American dream
32:01and how,
32:01you know,
32:02you leave
32:02school,
32:03you go to
32:03college and
32:04you have
32:04all these
32:05aspirations,
32:06hopes and
32:06dreams and
32:06then the
32:07real world
32:07just kind of
32:08shows you
32:08what it is.
32:10I liked how
32:11we saw that
32:11from different
32:12points of
32:12views,
32:13from Maddie,
32:13someone who's
32:14a child of
32:14immigrants and
32:15really taking,
32:16you know,
32:17control of her
32:17life for
32:18someone like
32:18Jules who
32:19feels like,
32:20you know,
32:21she's in this
32:22relationship because
32:23it affords her
32:23the lifestyle
32:24that she wants
32:25and Rue,
32:26you know,
32:27working at a
32:27strip club but
32:28really being happy
32:28with everything
32:29she's doing.
32:29I like how we
32:30just see all of
32:31these different
32:32backgrounds and
32:33Nate being a
32:33scammer and
32:34feeling like he's
32:35living this
32:35American dream,
32:36being this real
32:36estate developer
32:37but realizing like
32:38this stuff is a
32:39lot harder than
32:40what I thought it
32:41was.
32:41So,
32:42overall I like
32:43the episode,
32:43very annoyed by
32:44the dialogue that
32:45was used in this
32:46week's episode.
32:47But yeah,
32:47those are my
32:48thoughts on
32:49Euphoria Season
32:493 Episode 2
32:50America My Dream.
