05:41conocemos a introduscaremos La Theocracia,
06:36que real estrategia requiere cunning,
07:05de Silken Silver,
07:06la próxima expansión de CK3.
07:09Por Silken Silver,
07:10estamos enfocando en trade, republicos,
07:12y mercantes,
07:13con un par de notas de revoques,
07:16como Buildings,
07:17y Economía.
07:17Estamos inspirados por los egyptian traders,
07:20que viajando hacia el camino,
07:21los mercantes,
07:22los mercantes de Navigarra,
07:24con fur,
07:24como los republicos de Venice,
07:27Genoa,
07:27Florens,
07:28los swissones,
07:29o los 3 ciudades de la HRE.
07:30As we're introducing trade
07:32to the medieval world of CK3,
07:34of course,
07:34there's a lot of things
07:35that we have to take into consideration.
07:36So for Silk and Silver,
07:37we are adding a new trade system
07:39that are based around
07:40needs and productions
07:41that are set up
07:42in every single count in the world,
07:43together with a whole plethora
07:45of new trade goods,
07:46like salt,
07:47silver,
07:48gold,
07:48copper,
07:49and these are traded primarily
07:50by our new mercantile governments,
07:52so republics and merchants,
07:54but also some minor opportunities
07:56for landed rulers
07:56to participate in the new trade system.
07:59Trade routes are set up
08:00between different points
08:01by the new mercantile governments
08:03to remove trade goods
08:04from point A to point B
08:05to make as much money as possible,
08:07finding areas that produce
08:08a lot of trade goods
08:09and then selling them
08:09in areas that acquire them.
08:11And the trade routes can be adjusted
08:13or edited or cancelled outright
08:14if need be,
08:16and it's really up to the player
08:17how they want to engage with them.
08:18And these trade routes
08:19can be adjusted by the AI
08:20as well to the player,
08:22and we will have dozens
08:24if not hundreds of AI players
08:26taking part in the new trade system,
08:28making the world feel
08:29like it's a sprawling living entity.
08:31So as we're adding
08:32this new trade system,
08:33it was of course important
08:34that we find the space
08:35for it both live and thrive,
08:37not only done
08:37by our new mercantile governments,
08:39but also find space
08:40for our old rulers
08:41to take part in it.
08:42They have some limited opportunities,
08:44but they will be able
08:45to then engage
08:46with the new mercantile governments
08:47who will do some of it for them,
08:49and it will play an important role
08:50into our new building rework.
08:52So to start talking a bit
08:54about our new mercantile governments,
08:56I think I will start
08:56with the merchants,
08:57which is basically landless rulers
09:00that exist across the realm.
09:02Unlike their landless adventure
09:04counterparts,
09:05they are usually settled
09:06around cities
09:07where they have their domiciles
09:08and where they do most of their trade.
09:10So as a merchant,
09:11you will engage with landed rulers,
09:13you take part in trade across the realm,
09:16you will go out and seek out contracts
09:18to establish trade opportunities
09:21with different rulers,
09:22and you have your family
09:24that you will constantly have
09:25to make sure are living up
09:27to their part of the trade company.
09:29So each merchant
09:29is based around their family companies,
09:32and to make sure
09:32that it feels like a proper company,
09:34we are making sure
09:35that each member does their part,
09:37and we have readapted
09:38and improved the house unity system
09:41from Legacy of Persia.
09:42So the way that the house unity
09:43works for merchants
09:45is that you can either appeal
09:46to your family members,
09:48maybe not necessarily get
09:49as much bonuses and money
09:51as you would hope for,
09:51but a happy company,
09:53or you can go down
09:54the capitalistic route
09:55and make sure that the company prospers,
09:57but the people
09:58who take part in it might not.
09:59This will add a little bit
10:00of political drama
10:01even internally in the family.
10:03So to talk a little bit
10:04about our second mercantile government,
10:06we have the Republics,
10:07inspired by Venice
10:08or Florence or Genoa.
10:10They're situated around a main city
10:12where everything happens,
10:13and you either play
10:14as a partition family,
10:16or you can be the head
10:16of the Republic
10:17and make all the decisions.
10:19The four republics,
10:19of course,
10:20they need their money
10:21to make sure that they can
10:22get their family up in power.
10:24So they use trade
10:25to make as much money as possible,
10:27and then they turn it into
10:29political capital
10:30by making sure that their opponents
10:32end up in the gutter,
10:34and they end up in charge of the Republic,
10:36because they really do care
10:37for that democracy.
10:39The republics will work
10:39kind of like a soft power in the world.
10:41They're a little bit of a king makers
10:43or king removers.
10:44They are the ones that ensure
10:45that the trade routes are open,
10:46the goods are flowing
10:47as they're intended to.
10:48If you don't actually do
10:50as they want,
10:51well,
10:51then you are on the list
10:53to be removed.
10:54And as the game keeps running,
10:55we will see these little republics
10:56form up to
10:57form larger trade leagues,
10:59and they can truly become
11:00a power to be reckoned with,
11:02just like the Huns
11:03that were in real life,
11:04controlling most of the Baltic Sea.
11:06So our new core is,
11:07rather than having buildings in your camp,
11:09you now have districts
11:10with buildings within them.
11:11Rather than building a building,
11:12like say a brewery,
11:14you're now building a market district,
11:15where you might build buildings within it,
11:17but it's supposed to give this
11:18greater flavor,
11:20that you feel like you're actually
11:21building up a city.
11:22As part of this new district system,
11:24we're also introducing
11:25what we call the resource districts.
11:26This is basically how we produce
11:28trade goods across the world.
11:30Every single county in the world
11:31will have a potential
11:32of a couple of different trade goods
11:33that you can then choose from.
11:34And you will build it up,
11:35and for example,
11:37you will have cotton,
11:38or wool,
11:39or grain,
11:40and then later on,
11:41you can either improve that,
11:42or you can choose to even take part
11:43in some of the other potentials
11:44that you tossed away earlier.
11:46So you can say,
11:47hey, I wanted wool,
11:48and now I can say
11:49that I could get a little small
11:50building of cotton as well,
11:51producing several trade goods
11:52at the same time.
11:53Every single county in the world
11:55will have between
11:55three and five potentials
11:57that you can choose from.
11:58So while we have focused a lot
11:59on the systemic side
12:00for the whole world,
12:01and in silk and silver,
12:02we also have focused a little bit
12:04on flavor content
12:05specifically for Italy.
12:07It is the home of many
12:08of our republics
12:09like Venice or Genoa,
12:10so it felt only right
12:12that we would give them
12:13a little bit of time
12:13in the spotlight.
12:14So as part of our work on Italy,
12:16we have improved historicity
12:17in all three start dates,
12:18in addition to adding
12:19a whole slew of new counties.
12:21But these new counties
12:22are a bit smaller
12:23than they usually are,
12:24which will focus more
12:25on the kind of republic play
12:26that we're interested in.
12:27It will also enable us
12:28to have more interesting conflicts
12:29as we're adding a new
12:30situation to the region.
12:32The Guelphs and the Ghibellins.
12:34The Guelphs and the Ghibellins
12:35are a fairly well-known
12:36conflict that was between
12:37the Kaiser and the Pope
12:38that happened in
12:39mostly northern Italy.
12:41It is an opportunity for us
12:43to both showcase conflicts
12:44between republics
12:45and inside republics
12:47as the different factions
12:48will vie for power.
12:49But this overview
12:50has just been a small little
12:51glimpse into what we're
12:52going to be seeing
12:52in Silk and Silver.
12:53And you can look forward
12:54to more details
12:55in the dev diaries
12:56leading up to the release
12:57of the major expansion
12:58later this year.
12:59This thing was a mistake.
13:02It is silly expensive.
13:03But the real regret I had
13:05from going to Venice
13:05was not buying more of them.
13:09Silk and Silver will unlock
13:11to all Chapter 5 holders
13:13in November.
13:15Now, I think you've waited
13:16long enough to hear about
13:17what Chapter 5 will unlock
13:19for you today.
13:22Today, you will get instant access
13:24to our new cosmetic pack,
13:26Symbols of Authority.
13:28These splendid cosmetics
13:30will only be available
13:31to our Chapter 5 holders,
13:33so don't miss out.
13:35To inspire your medieval conquest,
13:37Songs of the Realm is bringing you
13:39a new enticing arrangement
13:40of Crusader Kings classics,
13:42plus a more modern take
13:44on traditional Nordic music.
13:48My name is Philip Wehrborn.
13:50I'm the composer and the producer
13:52for the new music pack
13:53called Songs of the Realm.
13:55Songs of the Realm is a homage
13:57for Evergreen songs
13:59that have been released
14:00over the years,
14:01but also a compilation
14:02of some new music
14:03that I've been honored
14:04to compose,
14:05as well as featuring
14:07some Swedish folk music.
14:09The initial brief was pretty clear.
14:10We wanted to record
14:12old Evergreens live
14:14with real musicians.
14:16I think in the time we're in,
14:18I think it's very important
14:19that we highlight
14:20that this project
14:21is really based
14:22around musicians.
14:23We had a really good day
14:25in the studio
14:26and I'm really happy
14:27that Paradox took the opportunity
14:29to give me the opportunity
14:31to hire real people
14:32playing all this music.
14:47and we also wanted
14:49to write some new music
14:50in the CK3 vein.
14:52The idea to honor
14:54some of the Swedish folk music tradition
14:56was also pretty clear
14:57from the beginning,
14:58which I thought was really fun
14:59to work with.
15:00For me, working on Swedish folk music
15:02is always one of the most fun things
15:05you can do.
15:07It's based on beautiful melodies,
15:10easy harmonic structures,
15:13repetitiveness,
15:14but also a lot of fiddle,
15:16a lot of guitar,
15:17a lot of flute.
15:18And I think as a reference
15:20for CK3
15:21and what's been released
15:22in the past,
15:23I think it really glues together
15:25in a music pack like this.
15:37I think I want to give credit
15:39to my partner in crime
15:41and dear friend
15:42Andreas Valdetoft
15:43and his track
15:44In Taberna.
15:45I think it kind of sums
15:47everything up
15:48that needs to be said
15:49in a release like this.
15:51So, In Taberna is just
15:53the perfect track.
16:07For me, I think personally,
16:08the highlight of this project
16:10was that this was the first project
16:11that my newborn son
16:12was a little part of
16:14in terms of like listening
16:15in the control room.
16:16And if you really listen closely,
16:18you might hear him
16:19on one of the tracks.
16:21I hope you all will enjoy
16:22the Songs of the Realm music pack.
16:24I had a lot of fun working on it
16:26and I really hope that you all
16:27feel the joy that we had creating this.
16:33All of this is coming out with Chapter 5,
16:36which is available right now.
16:38But that's not really all.
16:40Today, we're also releasing
16:41a major update for everyone.
16:44For this update,
16:46we want to rework accolades.
16:49We want to remove the tedium
16:51of having to assign
16:52and maintain these accolades
16:54and instead replace it
16:56with a fun challenge
16:57where you unlock various attributes
17:00and they themselves
17:02train their own squires.
17:03Since the beginning of the game,
17:05we've had story cycles,
17:08but these have been invisible
17:09to the players.
17:11For example,
17:12being a great conqueror
17:13or having a doppelganger in your court.
17:15Now you will be able to see these
17:17in the situations tab,
17:19with all the information
17:20you might need.
17:21Right there.
17:22We're adding, in collaboration with Agami,
17:27a prominent modder,
17:28a fully fledged ledger to Crusader Kings 3.
17:32In it, all the data you can dream of,
17:35right there,
17:35sortable and parsable.
17:37For the longest time,
17:39aging in Crusader Kings 3 has either been
17:42an experience where you instantly become decrepit,
17:45or you can live forever with great skills.
17:47We wanted to make this more challenging and realistic,
17:50by adding a diverse set of traits you can gain
17:53when you grow old.
17:55These traits will start off not that bad,
17:58but depending on actions you take in the game,
18:01you can mitigate their progress.
18:03Because it says whatever else we have confirmed
18:06by the time of recording.
18:07I'm like, there's probably a few.
18:15There are many great medieval games out there,
18:17that aren't Crusader Kings 3,
18:19and one of them is Kingdom Come Deliverance.
18:22We have talked to their developers,
18:25and they have talked to us,
18:26and we adore each other's games.
18:28So, we are collaborating,
18:30and adding a few little easter eggs
18:32for you to find in this update.
18:35Thank you everyone for joining us today,
18:37and for your continued support and enjoyment
18:40of Crusader Kings 3.
18:41We are, I am, humbled by the passion
18:45and engagement you've shown us.
18:47And we can't wait to see how you choose
18:50to explore everything we are creating
18:52for Chapter 5.
19:05Is it Chalcedonian?
19:07That's what I thought,
19:08but I could be wrong.
19:09It's too much, I thought so.
19:10God!
19:12Let's listen to that.
19:13It might actually be Chalcedonian.
19:15That's what we said.
19:17We did say Chalcedonian?
19:18Yeah, but is it Chalcedonian?
19:19I thought it was Chalcedonian.
19:24I don't need the B-roll.
19:28Because I've been saying Chalcedonian,
19:30then you said Chalcedonian,
19:31and then I said Chalcedonian,
19:32and then it felt weird.
19:33I had opportunities here,
19:35I just chose not to take them.
19:37And that's a mistake I will live in for the rest of my life.
19:39You can always go back to Venice.
19:42We're good, we're good.
19:43It's just I need to change everything
19:45about my entire personality now.
19:47I have to say,
19:48this is probably the most comfortable recording session I've ever had.
19:52Great chair,
19:53the light is not in my face.
19:55Good.
19:55It's Chalcedonian.
19:57Really?
19:59No.
