00:03Thank you, Nisha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:07I hope your weekend was a nice one, as well as your Monday.
00:10Speaking of Monday, today was hot, hazy, and breezy,
00:14with temperatures reaching 32.1 in Trinidad and 31.1 in Tobago.
00:20Let's look at conditions tonight.
00:21Tonight will give us mostly fair conditions,
00:24despite a few party cloudy periods, with brief showers in some areas.
00:28With minimum temperatures of 24 degrees in Trinidad and 25 in Tobago.
00:33And if you found today was hot, well, oh boy, brace yourself for tomorrow.
00:38According to the Met Office, hot, sunny, and slightly hazy conditions are expected.
00:44But a few party cloudy spells at times that can be accompanied by isolated showers.
00:50There's a chance, however, of the heavy shower favoring western areas of Trinidad during the afternoon.
00:56So have your water and apply that sunscreen before you leave the house.
01:01Daytime temperatures are expected at 32 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
01:06And you can add a face mask to the list, as well.
01:10Sahara and Dust is still here, but slowly making her way out,
01:14with a mild concentration in the atmosphere.
01:17So sensitive persons should take the necessary precautions.
01:20And the sun will remain on duty for the next couple of days, as well.
01:25Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a few party cloudy intervals accompanied by showers.
01:31There's a chance of isolated heavy showers, again, favoring western Trinidad during the afternoon.
01:37Both days will have maximum temperatures of 32 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
01:43Now here's when the sun will rise and set in Trinidad.
01:47Sunrise is at 552 and 548 in Tobago.
01:50And sunset at 617 in Trinidad and 614 in Tobago.
01:54And here's when our seas are slipping up.
01:57Seas will be moderate with waves, 1.5 meters to 2 meters in open waters,
02:01and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.
02:04It's now time for your daytime.
02:16In international news, a powerful earthquake struck off the northern coast of Japan,
02:22registering a magnitude of 7.7.
02:25The quake triggered a tsunami warning, with waves of up to 2.5 feet observed,
02:30though authorities initially cautioned that waves could reach as high as 10 feet.
02:34Residents in affected areas were urged to avoid the coastline,
02:38and tens of thousands were advised to move to higher ground.
02:42The warnings were later downgraded to advisories.
02:45Unfortunately, no significant damage or injuries have been reported.
02:50However, Japan remains on high alert for aftershocks,
02:53as its meteorological agency has warned of an increased risk of a potential mega quake,
03:00measuring 8.0 or higher within the coming week.
03:03Let's hope that does not happen.
