The filmer, Piotr, told WooGlobe, "This timelapse is compiled from approximately 250-300 photographs taken in January on the ocean shore in Iceland."
The light intensifies and fades in waves as it slides over the dark shoreline.
The steady pace of the sequence turns the aurora into something almost patterned, like weather passing through.
It settles into a quiet, continuous view of the sky changing overhead.
