00:28la oportunidad de cambiar el mundo y we witnessed firsthand that that is true and it is possible
00:34so it's super exciting.
00:36I feel like whenever I was younger it was a little bit overwhelming, but obviously as I've
00:41matured and gotten older I've learned how to handle that pressure a little bit better.
00:46Of course I've had to outsource help to help me, which is seeking mental therapy because
00:53at the end of the day as athletes, we're so physically talented and successful, but we
00:59have to make sure that our mental is up to par as well.
01:02The failures were hard, but I have a great group surrounding me that teach me and help
01:09me through those hard lessons.
01:11I mean, there are a lot of tears for the downfalls, but there's always a beautiful story to come
01:17out of it.
01:18The best advice I've ever received was from my mom.
01:21She always told me before every competition to just be the best Simone and that's always
01:26stuck with me so that I'm not trying to compete against anybody else because I can only control
01:32what I do out there and not what anybody else does.
01:35So to just stay true to who I am.
01:37The best advice I have to give?
01:39I would say to have fun because sports go by so fast.
01:43And before you know it, you'll be old, mature and retiring.
01:47So really embrace that journey.
01:49Oh my gosh.
01:51Well, the Paris comeback was incredible.
01:53I feel like it was a story that everybody was waiting to see how it would play out.
01:58Obviously, I had my goals that I wanted to accomplish and although I didn't get to accomplish
02:03all of them, I'm really thankful that I was even able to get back into the gym and start
02:08flipping again with confidence.
02:10But it was a dream come true to compete in Paris and to be able to achieve some of the
02:15things that I never thought I might be able to do again.
02:18So I definitely can't complain.
02:21It was super exciting and to have everyone on that journey with me meant the world.
02:25Oh my goodness.
02:27Well, obviously redeeming ourselves in the team final was super exciting.
02:31I feel like we all knew deep down that we were capable of getting gold, but it was just,
02:37it came down to execution, which we personally, I think did beautifully and it was a success.
02:43But again, the all around me and Rebecca Andrade head to head going at it and that was really
02:52nerve wracking, but it really pushed me to be the best someone that I could be.
02:56Oh my gosh.
02:57My recent excitement.
02:58I feel like for me, American football is about to come back.
03:01So my husband is at OTAs right now.
03:04So that's really exciting.
03:05But besides that coming up in like the near future, I would say Laurius Awards tonight.
03:11I mean, it's kind of the pinnacle of sporting awards.
03:14And so I'm really excited to see everyone and to celebrate everyone's success tonight.
03:19The future.
03:20I feel like we've seen so much in the sporting world that we thought would never be accomplished.
03:26So to keep breaking down those barriers, being a light, having a voice for sports and using
03:32that outlet for good, we can kind of achieve anything.
03:35So I'm really excited to see where sports are going to go from here.
03:39And it might be scary one day when we all have kids and to see what they're able to accomplish.
03:44Everyone loves to ask this question.
03:46I feel like I'm not sure at what capacity I'll be there, if it's on the floor or in the
03:50stands,
03:50but I do anticipate being there.
03:55Oh, it's baby Simone.
03:57I would tell her to have fun, keep her chin up and just be you.
04:03Be yourself, still be outspoken and believe in your dreams and go after them.
04:13Then I can continue in my어밴.
