00:00Transport services are under pressure to reduce staff sickness, with one of the
00:05capital's biggest networks setting out new measures to keep people in work.
00:10Transport for London has joined a government-backed review looking at how
00:15employers can prevent long-term illness, with mental health support a central
00:19focus. The organisation recorded more than 400,000 sick days in a year, with
00:26long-term absence accounting for most time off. TfL has said that support,
00:30including physiotherapy, counselling and addiction services, is already in place.
00:35But officials have warned there must be a balance, stressing staff should not feel
00:40pushed to work when unwell when they are ill.
