President Lai Ching-te is set to begin a six-day trip to Eswatini, Taiwan's only African ally, on Wednesday. The Somaliland government has welcomed Lai's upcoming visit, which will be his first trip to Africa since taking office. Taiwan's foreign ministry said politicians from 10 other African countries have also extended their welcome to Lai.
