Transcript
00:00Previously on Heated Rivalry.
00:02Then where's your boy Rosanoff?
00:03My what?
00:04Scott Hunter is right next door.
00:06No, I mean, not your boy.
00:08It's always Hollander and Rosanoff, right?
00:11He's hot.
00:12We should let him listen like making calls.
00:14He's an asshole, right?
00:15Yeah, basically.
00:16The record for this event currently held by the New York Admiral's Scott Hunter.
00:21Glad to see Rosanoff and hold my record for more than a minute.
00:24He's shooting, Mark.
00:25I thought it was Scott Hunter's year.
00:27Babe, can you believe Russia?
00:28Be nice, Bonnie.
00:30Hey, what did Ross say about it?
00:31I don't know.
00:32Listen to me, that's for sure.
00:34We're not like friends or anything.
00:36No worries.
00:37I'm sure someone else grabbed him.
00:38Seriously, this year, baby, we're coming for you.
00:40Trust me.
00:40You look great in Silver, Bonnie.
00:42Don't even stress.
00:42Good one.
00:56I want some ice cream bad, man.
00:59Do you not find it weird that we're in a beach town in Russia in February talking about getting ice
01:03cream?
01:03Winter Olympics, baby.
01:05Which other should be, right?
01:08Hey, isn't that it?
01:10Oh, yeah.
01:12All in there.
01:13What's up, motherfucker?
01:15Hey.
01:16Alright, so tonight we can do the men's short form figure skating here.
01:18My buddy Joe is in that program.
01:20We're training together.
01:21Would you guys be cool to do that?
01:23I'd love to show up for them.
01:24Hell yeah, man.
01:25Show up for any dude who's that brave.
01:27What do you mean?
01:29Well, I'm assuming your buddy might be gay.
01:34I mean, fucking brave for a dude to show up to a place like this and be like, hey, here's
01:38me.
01:39Russia is not safe for folks like that.
01:43Fucking balls of steel, man.
01:45Nope.
01:56Welcome back to Man in the Crease, your one-stop hockey shop.
02:00Today's first period topic is the inevitable one for the Admirals.
02:03What has happened to Scott Hunter?
02:0570 points last season.
02:07Yes, and we're six games into this season.
02:10A season he, he called, need to win.
02:13Those are his words.
02:14And he has zero, zero points.
02:17He's in a fog.
02:18His passes aren't connecting.
02:20He's barely skating.
02:21I can't imagine he's amazing in the room right now.
02:24And he's already been announced as Team USA captain at the Olympics in Russia.
02:37He has zero, defensively hits the road.
02:41yell, explodes and
02:47roar by exploding.ihihiihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihih
03:06plot
03:08I am very sorry about that.
03:11It's really not a big deal.
03:12How may I help you?
03:15What's good?
03:18Just a bunch of very decent smoothies with deeply stupid names.
03:23Any allergies?
03:24No, no, no, I'm easy.
03:25Okay.
03:26I mean, the best one's the blueberry one, but...
03:29Oh, you mean Blue Moon Over Brooklyn?
03:30Yeah, yeah, that's it.
03:32But what?
03:34Oh, nothing.
03:35Just when I make it for myself in the morning, I add a banana.
03:39Oh, so you're kind of wild.
03:41I mean, it wouldn't be the first time somebody's told me that.
03:46Yeah, that actually sounds pretty good.
03:48Blueberry with a banana.
03:50I take that.
03:51If it's okay to order off-menu, Kip.
03:55I mean, technically it was my idea, so I think we can get away with it this time.
04:23Oh, you weren't kidding.
04:24It's really hot.
04:25Oh, yeah.
04:26The banana makes a big difference, I think.
04:29Well, I guess it must.
04:36Here.
04:37Thanks.
04:40Um, that's way too much.
04:42It's for you.
04:44It's a great smoothie.
04:46Thanks again, Kip.
04:52A girl.
04:54Holy shit, are you...
04:59Was that Scott Hunter?
05:01Was that what?
05:02Scott Hunter, the hockey player.
05:06A girl.
05:07Clock winding down in the second period, 2-1 for Anaheim.
05:11We have girls with a draw.
05:12And this is what we're watching?
05:15We barely get to see you because you're always working, but at least when we do, we get to watch,
05:19uh...
05:20What is this?
05:21Let me check my name.
05:22Hockey?
05:23Shut up, Sean.
05:24I have to turn it off.
05:25No, no, no, please keep it on.
05:26Huh?
05:27Thank you, Kyle.
05:28Thank you, Kyle.
05:30Thank you, Kyle.
05:31You're welcome.
05:32Twice.
05:33He said tip.
05:34Like, he used your actual name twice.
05:36Maria, dad is selling the bar so loud.
05:39And it didn't even sound stupid when he said it.
05:41It almost sounded hot.
05:42Okay, that's not fair.
05:42Not hot.
05:43Just normal.
05:45Okay.
05:45I love some it.
05:46Fuck both of you, okay?
05:47Kip is short for Christopher.
05:48It's not that weird.
05:49It's short bus for Christopher.
05:51And please don't tell me you used that name on your grad school application.
05:54Oh, my God.
05:54Why are we talking about my dumb name?
05:56He said it.
05:57He said it.
05:59Another round?
06:00Thank you, Kyle.
06:02Thank you, Kyle.
06:05And you?
06:08Look, look, look.
06:09He's on the TV right now.
06:11Sean, look right now.
06:12Oh, my God.
06:12Okay.
06:14Hunter's in front of the net.
06:15And he scores!
06:17A rare goal from Scott.
06:19Oh, wow.
06:20Right?
06:20He knows your name.
06:22Yeah.
06:23I mean, he's definitely not gay, but...
06:25Shut the fuck up.
06:25Are you literally polite?
06:26Jesus Christ!
06:31He scored a hat-trick last night.
06:33Are you asking me what that means, or are you just telling me something I already know?
06:36I just didn't realize that...
06:38We literally watched the game, Kip.
06:46Nice to see you again, Kip.
06:47Nice to see you again.
06:49Uh, Scott.
06:51You're Scott Hunter, right?
06:53I am.
06:54This is awesome.
06:55I mean, wow, you had a night last night.
06:57Oh, did you watch?
06:58I did, yeah.
06:59I don't usually...
07:00Sorry, that sounds rude.
07:02I'm...
07:02No, I got it.
07:04Well, I watched the playoffs last year with my dad.
07:06It was amazing.
07:07He's a huge fan.
07:08But, yeah, I watched last night.
07:11Wow.
07:12Um, yeah, when something goes right with my game, I try to repeat it, and then I try to
07:18perfect it.
07:19Okay.
07:21So, I'd love another smoothie, please.
07:25Anything you'd like different?
07:26Nothing at all.
07:29There you are.
07:31Okay.
07:32You really can't keep doing this.
07:33I really can.
07:35Uh, see you next game day, I hope.
07:42Dude.
07:43Girl.
07:44Was that?
07:44Yes, it fucking was.
07:46Oh.
07:53Sorry, I'm late.
07:55No outside food or drink.
07:56Fuck off, Kyle.
08:01And I know the whole smoothie thing is dumb, or whatever, but he just keeps saying my name,
08:05and it's low-key making me crazy.
08:07Wait, you're still coming with me to that fundraiser, though, right?
08:09Because I am not looking for a date.
08:11Yes, I told you I could come, and it's in, like, two months.
08:14Could you please listen to me?
08:15Kyle, remote?
08:16Oh.
08:22Extra shrimp.
08:26New York with control.
08:28Now I'm fully listening.
08:30What are you doing?
08:30Just putting the game on.
08:31Elena.
08:32What?
08:33It's a sports bar.
08:34Let's watch sport.
08:35Am I being crazy?
08:37What does Maria say?
08:38She says he's fighting me, too.
08:40Well, she is much smarter than you.
08:42I'm probably this idiot.
08:44He's not an idiot.
08:48Jesus.
08:49Brain.
08:51When's his next home game?
08:53Come on.
08:54If you don't know when his next home game is, how are you going to plan your next shift?
08:56I don't plan my shifts.
08:58I just gobble up as many as I can.
09:01Saturday.
09:01They play at home again on Saturday.
09:03Are you working?
09:04Oh.
09:07Fuck.
09:08No.
09:09Fix that.
09:25It's nice to see you.
09:29Blue Moon over Brooklyn, please.
09:31Extra banana.
09:40This one's on the house.
09:41Oh, come on.
09:42It's above my pay grade.
09:43Management heard you came in.
09:44And no, you may not tip me.
09:46And yes, I'm using proper grammar to prove to you that I'm being serious.
09:51Okay.
09:54May I drink this here?
09:56I've got some emails to answer, so I thought...
09:59Yeah, you totally may.
10:34You're not worried about breaking your routine?
10:37No, I'm not actually that obsessive.
10:41It turns out I'm too lazy to be a serial killer.
10:43I took a quiz.
10:45I don't even think I could be a spree killer.
10:48What's a spree killer?
10:50Someone who kills multiple people at the same time.
10:53But isn't it?
10:53A serial killer is someone who kills multiple people, minimum of three, but over a period of time.
10:59Not all at once.
11:02How do you know that?
11:05I read a lot of murder books.
11:06And, uh, yeah, serial killers make me feel not obsessive, which is a relief.
11:16Well, I've read some things about athletes.
11:19Okay.
11:20Before you say anything else, yes, I agree.
11:22And yes, there are at least two guys on my team that are possibly off the record.
11:26Yes, maybe.
11:27But no, not me.
11:29No, I swear.
11:30Barely had two concussions.
11:34Okay, so, what?
11:35No left sock, right sock, stop shaving, no sex, all that stuff?
11:39Oh, no, yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:39All of that.
11:40But that's not CTE stuff.
11:41That's just science.
11:42And science only really matters during the playoffs.
11:45Oh, okay, that's super comforting.
11:47Listen, I know you're more of an art guy, so it's not like I expect you to get the ins
11:50and outs of science.
11:52And just to be clear, I'm not complaining about the whole stop shaving thing.
11:56I mean, you all look like hot lumberjacks by the end of May.
12:12Do you want to come to my game tonight?
12:16I have two seats.
12:17No one's taking them, so, I mean, if you want.
12:21Yeah, yeah, yeah.
12:22Yeah, yeah, I want.
12:25Fuck, man, that's crazy.
12:28I'm super happy to do it.
12:31You sure?
12:33I'm sure.
12:38These are better than my company seats.
12:40I get it.
12:41These are really good seats.
12:42Well, yeah, they're his.
12:46You know, we're a first date, but I think I'm into this.
12:49What are you talking about?
12:50Well, you're with a girl, and he's at work.
12:52Oh, my God, shut up, Elena.
12:56Oh, wow.
12:57That wasn't good to me.
12:59That was...
12:59He just nodded at you.
13:01There's no proof of that.
13:03Come on, boy.
13:09Wait back, for fuck's sake.
13:20Good job, I love you.
13:22I love you.
13:23I love you.
13:24I love you.
13:25Good job.
13:26I love you.
13:27Hey, Hunter.
13:29Too bad you can't play at home every night, right?
13:32It's better for you, huh?
13:33Go fuck yourself, Rosanoff.
13:35All right, it's more fun if you're there.
13:41Hey, thanks.
13:47Hope next time we play, you decide to show up.
13:52Cheap.
13:53True.
13:57Starting to sound like him.
14:00I'm sorry, what?
14:03You fucking heard me, Hollander.
14:05What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
14:07Well, there's something you really don't expect to see,
14:09especially after the final whistle,
14:11and especially from Hollander and Hunter,
14:14a fittingly brutal end to yet another brutal road
14:16for the album.
14:17That's Cheap, Hollander, and the fuck.
14:19Anybody who can tap some grievances there?
14:22I'm going to hit the sack.
14:23Yeah, here you go, handsome.
14:25All right, have a good day off.
14:27It's not a day off.
14:28I'm doing that catering thing tomorrow.
14:30Yeah, yeah, I just, you know,
14:31you get to sleep in for once,
14:32so I'm just happy for you.
14:34That's all I meant.
14:35You know.
14:37I, uh, I'm proud of your hustle, kiddo.
14:40You know?
14:41You didn't get that scholarship anyway?
14:43Please, please, no jinxing me.
14:45No way, no way.
14:46Good night.
14:47Good night, Dad.
14:48Love you.
14:49Love your back.
14:54Motherfucker.
15:01What's happening to you?
15:02Uh, what's your problem?
15:03I can't find my, my, my black suit,
15:05and I have to leave so, so soon.
15:07Okay, well, it's with the dry cleaning in my closet,
15:10so why are you freaking out?
15:12Okay, hey, hey, are you okay?
15:14Yeah, I'm fine.
15:15I just, I need the money,
15:16and I can't fuck this job up.
15:17Yes, and I get it,
15:19but you're not going to fuck it up
15:20because you're amazing,
15:21and it's going to be great.
15:23I love you.
15:24Yeah, you too.
15:25Yes, buddy.
15:30I'm so sorry.
15:32Save it.
15:33Give me the legs off.
15:39Motherfucker.
15:40All right.
15:41I'm so sorry about that.
15:43I'm real sorry.
15:44Oh, you're a mess.
15:45It's okay.
15:45It's not my only talks.
15:48New York used to have professional waiters.
15:50Now it's all just models.
15:51You can't carry a train.
15:53It's, uh, it's really okay.
15:55I'm so sorry again.
15:56Oh, bunny.
15:59Babe, I don't know what that was.
16:01I know, I'm a complete fuck-up.
16:03I'm sorry.
16:04You're not a complete fuck-up.
16:06This is not rocket science
16:07or whatever it is you're into.
16:08Art, Sean, please don't fire me.
16:11No one is firing you.
16:13Just calm down
16:14and get your shit together.
16:16Okay?
16:16Okay.
16:16I know you need the money, baby.
16:19Okay?
16:20Deep breath.
16:21Inhale.
16:23Exhale.
16:26You think you can handle quiche?
16:28They're dry.
16:35You think you can handle quiche?
16:38You really?
16:39No.
16:39She's very good.
16:44Hey.
16:45Hey.
16:46I am so sorry about earlier.
16:48That woman is horrible
16:49and I'm the one who should apologize.
16:51I was standing right in front of the kitchen door
16:52like an idiot.
16:53No, I'm the idiot.
16:54You're just a normal, hungry person at a fundraiser.
16:56And that woman did seem horrible.
16:59Full disclosure, I hate this food.
17:00Well, full disclosure, I hate serving it.
17:05I'm sorry.
17:06I have to...
17:06Do you like Mexican food?
17:09Yeah.
17:09Of course.
17:10I'm not a serial killer.
17:12Or even a spree killer.
17:14You sure?
17:15Yeah.
17:15It was the time.
17:16But do you have the time to grab a bite with me
17:18like when this thing is over?
17:21Tonight?
17:22Yeah.
17:24With you?
17:25Uh, well...
17:27Um...
17:27Yeah.
17:28Yeah, okay.
17:28Yeah.
17:29Yeah.
17:30Because there's, uh...
17:31There's this great place right around the corner
17:32and it's open late and...
17:34Okay.
17:35Um, you don't mind waiting until I'm done?
17:37Not even a little.
17:45No.
17:59Hi.
18:00Hi.
18:02Hi.
18:08That's a long line.
18:10Is it worth it?
18:13Um...
18:13Um...
18:14Probably not, right?
18:17We also don't actually have to do this.
18:20How would you feel about ordering in?
18:36Holy shit.
18:42Oh my god.
19:04I mean, I figured you'd have a nice place, but this is insane.
19:13Do you want the full tour now, or, uh...
19:16Or.
19:17Epicor.
19:32Oh my god.
19:35Oh my god.
19:37Oh my god.
19:42Um...
19:43Oh my god.
19:51Wow, you were so beautiful.
20:01I can't believe you didn't have to be.
20:04I'm so into you.
20:06I'm so into you.
20:07I guess I'm thinking about you.
20:34I'm so into you.
20:52I don't want to wake you.
20:55And I just thought since you have your game tomorrow and, you know...
21:07Can you stay?
21:10Yeah.
21:13Then stay, please.
21:15Come on.
21:51Did I wake you?
21:53Oh.
21:54Okay, I meant to surprise you, and I was going to go out and get stuff, but I looked in
21:58your fridge, and you basically had all the ingredients.
21:59I know I shouldn't be snooping around, but I didn't have to do that much snooping.
22:04You were very organized.
22:05And I thought, since I'm not working today, but you still have your game, that you probably still want it.
22:18Um, can I fuck you?
22:24Absolutely.
22:39So, I should probably go.
22:43So, um, what if you didn't go?
22:55Like ever?
22:57Fuck.
22:58All that serial killer talk was you warning me, wasn't it?
23:06Um.
23:09I'm, um.
23:12I'm going to say a bunch of things, okay?
23:15And I know I'm too intense, everyone tells me that, but I just, I can't help it.
23:20Is it okay?
23:20Can I be too intense?
23:24Yeah.
23:27Yeah, I, um, I never do this.
23:33Never brought anyone back here.
23:35Like ever.
23:38Um, yeah.
23:39My life is, uh, is complicated.
23:42Yeah, I, I get that.
23:49And I can't, um, come out.
23:54Like, not, not right now.
24:00Too many people depend on me for too much, and it would just, it would fuck everything up.
24:05And so, I just thought I would, um, I don't know, wait, I guess.
24:12Yeah, wait till hockey was over, and maybe I could fade away better.
24:22But I, um.
24:27You, it's just, um.
24:32I want you so bad.
24:36So bad.
24:38And I know that you barely know me, so why would you even consider something that's, that's probably fucked up.
24:43Like, I, I know I'm fucked up.
24:45I get it.
24:45I'm, I'm not pretending.
24:46I'm not.
24:48But I really, really like you.
24:52And I want you to stay.
24:55So I'm, I'm asking for what I want.
25:01I want you to be here when I get back from practice later.
25:05And I, uh, I want you to be here when I come home from my game tonight.
25:11I, um, I want you more than I've wanted anything in a long time.
25:20Is, uh, is that too much?
25:25You can say it if it is, um.
25:29Do you say something, though?
25:56I think I'd love to be here when you get back.
26:02And I don't think you're too lazy to be a serial killer.
26:06Really?
26:07Yeah, really.
26:09Yeah, you're definitely not lazy.
26:17Hey.
26:19How much practice?
26:27I don't know, like, uh, a few days ago?
26:30Yes, I sent in the applications.
26:32Yes, and even to BU.
26:34And yes, I know we hate Boston.
26:37With Elena, Dad, I'm staying with Elena.
26:40So I don't have to schlep to work.
26:41I get to sleep in the next shower.
26:44Fuck, yes.
26:46Nothing, Dad, no, I'm just watching the game.
26:48Yes, with Elena.
26:50Oh, my God.
27:00Where has she even been?
27:02Oh, please.
27:03I saw you three days ago.
27:05Single since forever.
27:06Overworked like she has two wicked steps.
27:08This is then.
27:09She gets a man and vanishes.
27:10What a cliche.
27:12I don't have a man.
27:13I'm gay, kid.
27:14Keep the boyfriend on TV at all times.
27:15Please, Kyle.
27:16Oh, my God, guys.
27:17He's a customer.
27:18He's not my boyfriend.
27:19Oh, we don't have a fucking boyfriend.
27:25Oh.
27:34Oh.
27:34Hiya.
27:41Morning, Scott.
27:42Morning, Kate.
27:43The usual, please.
27:45Yeah.
27:47Extra banana.
27:52I'm not sure what I'm going to do without these on my road trip.
27:54I'm pretty sure they have smoothies in other cities.
27:57I'm not like these they don't.
28:01Do you really think this is a secret?
28:03What's the secret?
28:06Nothing's happening.
28:07He's just flirting with me or whatever.
28:09He's straight, I think.
28:11Girl.
28:20There's pasta salad in the fridge.
28:22Chicken, no feta.
28:24Oh, yeah?
28:25And where?
28:25For me.
28:26I made it.
28:30You dead?
28:34I'm not just a pretty face.
28:36Oh, but you're a very pretty face.
28:43What's that?
28:44It's an artist I love.
28:46He has a new shot.
28:46Oh, cool.
28:47Mm-hmm.
28:48I should buy some art.
28:50What?
28:52Hey, I'm not just a pretty face, either.
28:53No, no, no, no, no.
28:54You're also a very, very hot body.
29:00Oh, my God.
29:12You don't have to do this.
29:14That's cool.
29:25This would look great in the living room.
29:26It would work.
29:27I don't know.
29:27Not on the fireplace wall, but on the way to the bedroom.
29:30I think it would...
29:34I'm sorry.
29:35Sorry, I just...
29:36It's okay.
29:38Um...
29:38Maybe we should...
29:40Amazing, isn't it?
29:42Yeah, it's beautiful.
29:45So are you two just browsing or shopping to buy?
29:49Oh, I think we're...
29:50Yeah, I think we're just browsing right now.
29:52Yeah.
29:53Excuse me.
29:58Sorry, he's not feeling well.
29:59No problem.
30:12I'm, uh...
30:13I'm really sorry.
30:15I thought I could do that.
30:16I really thought I could.
30:18I wanted to.
30:19I just...
30:19It's okay.
30:21No, son.
30:24I know, son.
30:25Come here.
30:25Come here.
30:26Come here.
30:26Come here.
30:26Come here.
30:27Come here.
30:29Come here.
30:30Come here.
30:30Come here.
30:30Come here.
30:52These road trips are just killing me.
30:55I mean, it's brutal.
30:57I think I'm cursed.
30:58Cursed?
30:59Like, scary old lady cursed?
31:02I know.
31:02I know it's dumb, but I'm not the only one who's superstitious.
31:07Would you be jealous if I got my smoothies from some other guy?
31:10Maybe.
31:11Probably.
31:12Well, what if I filled you in on all the juicy details?
31:15Like, how he blended them?
31:17Ooh, what if I actually was a scary old lady?
31:20Or what if you always kind of had one with you?
31:23What do you mean?
31:25Oh.
31:26Here.
31:30Okay.
31:32Hey, I know it's dumb.
31:34I know it's dumb.
31:35But I saw them in a bodega, and I thought they looked like your smoothie.
31:44I love them.
31:45Yeah?
31:46I love them so much.
31:54Can I fuck you?
31:56Absolutely.
32:14Fuck yes!
32:16That's two times.
32:17If you say it out loud, it's the curse broken.
32:20Hunter hasn't scored twice in an away game since last season.
32:29What?
32:30Say it out loud.
32:32Say what?
32:36Okay, it's not...
32:39It's...
32:40What?
32:42Okay.
32:43Here's what I know.
32:44Helena.
32:45Shut up.
32:45You're in love with him.
32:46I'm not in love with him.
32:48You are.
32:51Have you at least told your dad?
32:56For how long now?
32:58A little over two months.
33:00Oh, baby.
33:01Helena, okay?
33:02You can't tell.
33:04If anyone finds out that it's...
33:05Is that it, Scott?
33:07Obviously, I'm not going to tell anyone, but...
33:09Kip.
33:10He can't come out right now, okay?
33:12He really wants to...
33:14It's amazing.
33:15He's amazing.
33:16And I've never been happier.
33:20Honestly.
33:24What's the plan, babe?
33:27I don't...
33:28I don't know.
33:30What does your dad think?
33:32That I'm fucking some married guy, probably.
33:36I kind of wish you were.
33:37Oh, just don't say that.
33:40Please, just...
33:41Please be happy for me.
33:45I can't wait to see you in a tux tomorrow night.
33:47I am going to be super well-behaved for you.
33:50I only care that you're handsome.
33:51You bitch.
33:55Scott's going to be there tomorrow night, too.
33:57Oh, I know.
33:58And he better be ready for me.
34:04I don't know.
34:32Hey, Dad.
34:34Oh, my God.
34:35You're not dead.
34:36No, I'm alive.
34:37Well, that is a relief.
34:38I didn't want to have to call the war.
34:39You know, I miss you.
34:41I miss you, too, Dad.
34:43All right.
34:44Yeah.
34:45Are you going to be making an appearance here at some point in the near future?
34:48Yes, I will.
34:50I'm going to come for dinner this week, I promise.
34:52Perfect.
34:54How's work?
34:55Well, work is fine.
34:56You know, Barry's being a pain in my ass, but...
34:58Well, Barry's an asshole.
35:00No, he hurt his foot, so at least it's something new this time.
35:03Yeah, well, Barry's always been an asshole.
35:05Who taught you to talk like that?
35:07You did.
35:08You taught me to talk like that.
35:09That sounds about right.
35:12And, um, nothing in the mail, right?
35:15Kip, if there was something in the mail, I would not have forgotten about it.
35:18I know, I know.
35:19I just figured I'd check.
35:21Okay.
35:23Don't worry about that.
35:24Okay.
35:25Don't think about that, okay?
35:27It's going to come when it comes.
35:28Look, I'm not going to keep you.
35:29I love you.
35:30All right.
35:31You, too, Dad.
35:32You, too, Dad.
35:33What?
35:33I love you, too, Dad.
35:36There.
35:36I said it.
35:37Oh, my God.
35:38Sorry, it's such a struggle.
35:39Oh, God.
35:39Okay, bye.
35:40Bye-bye.
35:40Bye-bye.
36:36Bye-bye.
36:39Stop it.
36:40Stop what?
36:44He's here.
36:45You need to chill out.
36:48My God.
36:50Can I have some of yours?
36:52Yeah.
36:53Thanks.
36:57Well, I like our playoff chances this year.
36:59I think we might even get some home ice advantage.
37:01Well, if this guy keeps playing the way he has been, maybe.
37:05What changed?
37:06You mean a nice girl or something?
37:08I think we just found an agreement with the team.
37:12Excuse me, gentlemen.
37:13I think I spotted an old friend.
37:15No, I'm just ridden you, Scott.
37:17You know your parents would be so proud of you, right?
37:20Your mom especially.
37:21She would have just been thrilled.
37:24Thanks, Tom.
37:26Thanks.
37:26Excuse me.
37:30Hey.
37:31Okay?
37:32Yeah.
37:33Yeah.
37:33I should be used to it.
37:40I'm Kip, right?
37:44Christopher.
37:45Money's all dressed up.
37:46I'm Elena.
37:48Nice to meet you, Elena.
37:49I'm Scott.
37:49Pleasure.
37:50Scott.
37:50You look beautiful.
37:52You both do.
37:54Oh.
37:55Sorry.
37:56Yeah.
37:56We both clean up pretty well.
38:03Okay.
38:03If I go get more drinks, do you promise to start talking, Christopher?
38:06Yes.
38:07Of course.
38:07Great.
38:08Another beer, Scott?
38:09That'd be lovely.
38:16Are you enjoying the evening?
38:18I am.
38:19Are you?
38:21Looking forward to the after party, honestly.
38:28That fits perfectly.
38:29Thanks.
38:30And thanks.
38:31I mean, you didn't have to.
38:33I wanted to.
38:38Okay.
38:41Elena knows.
38:43And I'm sorry.
38:45Yeah.
38:46I kind of got that.
38:48It's okay.
38:49She's discreet, right?
38:52Yeah.
38:52Totally.
38:52Totally.
38:53I just...
38:53She kind of figured it out.
38:55I guess I had to tell someone.
38:57It's okay.
38:59Really?
39:00Okay.
39:04This is so weird.
39:07Yeah.
39:08You should leave early.
39:09As soon as I do my speech.
39:10Not before you dance with me.
39:12Pardon?
39:13I want to dance.
39:15Elena's a killer.
39:17How could I possibly say no?
39:24So?
39:25What are your intentions with my kid?
39:27I'm serious.
39:29He's crazy about you.
39:31I'm crazy about him, too.
39:32I really am.
39:33He's also miserable.
39:36Are you miserable, too?
39:40No.
39:43Wait.
39:44What do you mean?
39:45Nobody wants to be kept a secret.
39:47He's not.
39:48He is.
39:51Eyes on me, handsome.
39:55I'm doing my best.
39:57I love him.
39:58I just can't do better right now.
40:02I've been honest.
40:03I know.
40:04And he's so in love with you that he'll put up with it.
40:09But it's killing him.
40:16I'm not saying any of this to be mean.
40:18I'm really not.
40:19And you seem great.
40:21But he's great, too.
40:27He deserves the best.
40:31He deserves sunshine.
40:43And so do you.
40:52It's my birthday on Sunday.
40:55I know.
40:56I've already got the key to her lined up.
40:58Surf and turf.
41:00Because we're not choosing.
41:03You know the Kingfisher?
41:05It's the bar I told you about where I watch all your games?
41:08Mm-hmm.
41:09A couple of my friends are throwing me just like a little party there.
41:13It's not even really a party.
41:15It's just hanging out or whatever.
41:17Right.
41:18It's a gay bar.
41:20But it's not a club.
41:22It's just a bar.
41:23It's honestly more of a hockey bar now, thanks to me.
41:26It's too.
41:26And I was thinking that you could just come as my friend.
41:31As somebody who buys smoothies from me.
41:33I mean, Maria knows.
41:34My friend Sean knows.
41:36They know that you buy smoothies from me.
41:43I can't.
41:46I can't do that.
41:49I wish I could.
41:51I want to.
41:54I want to tell everyone.
41:57I want people to know that you're mine.
42:00That I love you.
42:02I love you too.
42:04Soon, maybe.
42:09I mean, in a few years.
42:14I know.
42:15I know how it sounds.
42:16But it'll go by quickly.
42:18I promise.
42:20And then we can be normal with, like, like other people.
42:27I heard what you said in your speech tonight.
42:32And I know that they're your family.
42:34And that you feel responsible for them.
42:36And I get that, Scott.
42:37I really, really get that.
42:42But I have a family too.
42:46And I keep lying to them.
42:48And I don't want to.
42:51And I miss them.
42:52I miss my dad.
42:56Sorry.
42:57That's not what I meant.
42:58It's okay.
42:59I know what you meant.
43:04I'm gonna go home tonight.
43:08I need to.
43:39Thank you for coming.
43:41For those of you who've attended before,
43:42feel free to ignore my sob story
43:44and go straight to the bar.
43:47But for those of you who don't know it,
43:49here's the short version.
43:52My parents were both junior hockey coaches.
43:57And they were hit by a drunk driver
43:59when I was 12 years old.
44:02Mercifully for them, they died instantly.
44:05Mercifully for me,
44:08the St. Thomas Scholarships existed.
44:11I didn't have anybody else to help me.
44:15I had a lot of memories,
44:17a love of hockey,
44:18and a huge hole in my heart.
44:22St. Thomas filled it with hope.
44:25The hope of a new family.
44:28Things weren't always easy.
44:30You know, they never are for anybody.
44:32But in hockey, I found what I was missing.
44:37First at my high school,
44:39then later at college,
44:40and now here with the Admirals.
44:42And I never looked back
44:45because I never had to.
44:49The family I craved,
44:51the family that I needed,
44:52that I still need today.
44:56Hockey gave it to me.
44:58And St. Thomas gave me hockey.
45:21Get up.
45:22Hey, Dad.
45:24I got you, the prodigal son.
45:25Return to home.
45:26I think I got some mail here
45:29for a certain someone,
45:30and it's pretty heavy.
45:32I don't want to.
45:35Hey.
45:41Hey.
45:42My boy.
45:44Come here.
45:45What's up?
45:46Oh.
45:47Hey.
45:48I'm sorry.
45:50For what?
45:50You got nothing to be sorry for, silly.
45:53Oh.
45:57Oh.
46:04Wow.
46:05Oh, wait, no, wait.
46:06Here's a pretty funny thing
46:07and a full buck a ride.
46:09Congrats.
46:10Well, good luck.
46:10Love you, man.
46:11Oh.
46:13Yeah.
46:41Hey.
46:42Hey, good dress, man.
46:44It's a cool middle fucking game.
46:45Yeah, totally.
47:12I was the price of being young.
47:18Tie me up with dark love.
47:21Shiver down my empty spine.
47:24I was the price of being young.
47:29I think her lips are close to mine.
47:35Her eyes are loosely gone.
47:38Painted nails have fallen off.
47:40I think her lips are close to mine.
48:10Painted nails or trial.
48:11It's a very simple morning.
48:11I do not feel independent
