Iran’s IRGC Navy issued a stunning on-air warning targeting Donald Trump while declaring the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz “closed.”

In a dramatic escalation, Iranian forces warned that ships linked to their enemies could be targeted and ordered all vessels to seek permission before crossing the critical oil corridor—through which nearly 20% of global oil flows.

The situation intensified after IRGC gunboats reportedly fired on commercial vessels near Oman, including Indian-linked ships, triggering diplomatic backlash. Meanwhile, Trump rejected Iran’s claims of control, insisting there will be “no tolls” in what the U.S. considers an international waterway.

With conflicting signals between Iran’s military and diplomatic leadership and rising naval activity in the region, fears are growing that this high-stakes standoff could spiral into a major global crisis.

02:38Iran's IRGC Navy issued a chilling warning to Trump.
02:50That line, now going viral, is widely being interpreted as a direct job at Donald Trump.
02:57And it didn't stop there.
02:59The IRGC Navy declared the strait of Hormuz closed, one of the most critical oil routes
03:06in the world.
03:06Nearly 20% of global oil passes through this narrow stretch.
03:12The message, broadcast on International Maritime Channel 16, was blunt.
03:17Ships linked to Iran's enemies will be targeted.
03:21And all vessels must now seek permission from Iranian forces to pass.
03:27But here's where it gets more complicated.
03:29Just hours earlier, Iran's own foreign ministry had claimed the strait was open for business.
03:36That position was quickly overruled by the IRGC, signaling a clear divide between diplomatic
03:43messaging and military control.
03:46Meanwhile, on the ground, or rather at sea, there is already enforcement.
03:51On April 18th, IRGC gunboats opened fire on multiple commercial vessels, including Indian-flogged
04:00ships near the coast of Oman.
04:02No injuries reported, but damage confirmed, and ships forced to turn back.
04:09India has since summoned Iran's ambassador, as tensions spill beyond the region.
04:15Now, enter Donald Trump.
04:18Responding to Iran's attempts to control the strait, he said, no way, there will be no
04:23tools.
04:24On the strait, are there going to be restrictions and tolls managed by Iran for ships and vessels
04:29passing through?
04:30No way.
04:31None at all?
04:32Nope.
04:32No restrictions?
04:33No.
04:33Mr. President, you just said, Mr. President.
04:36Restrictions, yeah, there'll be restrictions.
04:38You can't do the tolls.
04:39No, they're not going to be tolls.
04:41The U.S. position remains clear.
04:44The Strait of Hormuz is an international waterway, and no single country can control
04:49or restrict global passage.
04:51But in reality, Iran doesn't need legal ownership to exert control.
04:57With fast attack boats, coastal missiles, and sea mines, the IRGC operates what experts
05:03call a mosquito fleet strategy.
05:06Small, fast, and highly aggressive.
05:09They can swarm ships, harass them, or even seize them, creating a de facto control of the
05:16region during high tensions.
05:18Still, a full closure of the strait would come at a massive cost.
05:24It could trigger direct U.S. military response and choke Iran's own oil exports.
05:30So, what we're seeing now is pressure, a strategic signal from Iran against the ongoing U.S. naval
05:38blockade.
05:39The situation remains fluid and highly volatile, because in the Strait of Hormuz, even a single
05:46miscalculation could escalate into a much larger conflict.
05:50And the world is watching closely.
