Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson play a Milwaukee husband-and-wife Neil Diamond tribute act, and yes, they really go all-in on the “maybe this is our moment” energy. For a while, it works. Their act catches fire, success stacks up, and you can almost hear the crowd buying the dream. Then the movie does what the real world does. It takes away the easy part. Heartbreak shows up right when everything looks stable, and suddenly the question is not whether they can win an audience. It’s whether they can survive their own timing, their own expectations, and still keep making music together. “Song Sung Blue” is warm, messy, and oddly funny in its stubbornness.
