Darwin Rocksitters Arthur Dunga Day created by Gary Crockett. Before Paul Hogan became Crocodile Dundee he had a weekly TV comedy show. One of his comedy characters was Arthur Dunga who was the epitimy of the Australian male. always drunk, dressed in a white terry toweling hat, blue singlet, shorts and thongs (flip flops) with white zince cream on his nose. He would usually carry an esky full of beer. Every Australia Day annual public holiday The Darwin Rocksitter would have Arthur Dunga Day and hold a cricket match follow by an Aussie lunch of damper and stew. Everyone including women and children had to come dressed as Arthur Dunga. If you were batting and spilt your beer you were declared OUT! Two umpires would come and sniff the ground where you spilt your beer and you would be out of the cricket match.
