Russian soldiers surrendered to an assault conducted entirely by unmanned robots—no Ukrainian infantry involved.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces retook occupied territory in an unprecedented operation using only drones and ground robots. The 3rd Separate Assault Brigade deployed FPV drones and kamikaze ground platforms to attack fortified Russian positions.

"The occupiers surrendered, and the operation was carried out without infantry and without losses on our side," Zelensky said. According to the brigade, Russian troops emerged from destroyed fortifications to surrender "to avoid being blown up" as a robot closed in on their position.

Zelensky made the announcement on Defence Industry Worker Day, highlighting Ukraine's rapid advances in frontline technology. Drones have carried out more than 22,000 missions on the frontlines in just three months.

Meanwhile, Zelensky was in Germany to agree on a major drone deal with Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The project would create a joint venture to supply thousands of drones to Ukraine, with Berlin investing several hundred million euros.

"Germany is a major partner of ours, so I am confident that we will have one of the largest—indeed the largest—agreements of this kind at least in Europe," Zelensky said.

Germany has delivered about 55 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine since Russia's invasion. 🇺🇦🤖🇩🇪
