00:00Where do you stand on the Patriots in the draft
00:02and what they should be doing in the first round at this hour?
00:04Yeah, I mean, for me, I'm going to be disappointed
00:07if they end up sticking and picking at 31,
00:09unless there's somebody who falls to them,
00:12somebody like a Jordan Tyson, the wide receiver from Arizona State,
00:16or I happen to really like Akeem Mesidor,
00:18who was the other side of that devastating tandem at Miami with Reuben Bain.
00:22If somebody like that is there, if it becomes a Mac Jones situation,
00:25like a few years ago, and I'm not raving about the Mac Jones pick,
00:29but I am raving about the way they did it,
00:31they just sat there and let the guy fall to him.
00:33And if you don't have to do anything, that's fine.
00:36But outside of that, I think they either should be moving up in this draft
00:40to try and get somebody who's a little higher up the board.
00:44There's no way there's 31 guys across the NFL
00:47who are consistently graded as first-round picks by these teams in this draft.
00:51I mean, Elliott Wolfe wasn't wrong when he says it's not the greatest draft in the world.
00:56Or knowing what you know now with the A.J. Brown situation,
01:00which more and more every day you get these reports from different people
01:04and different insiders.
01:05I think Jeff Darlington was the latest one today on GetUp,
01:09talking about, you know, this is going to happen after June 1st.
01:12It seems like the Eagles are prioritizing the cap space over maybe a higher draft pick.
01:17So if you know you're going to have to give up 2027 draft capital
01:20to get A.J. Brown in the building,
01:22then I would look at trading back from 31
01:26and into more of the meat of this draft,
01:28which is supposed to be 50 through 75.
01:31And maybe you can pick up either on day one or day two or day three,
01:35you're able to pick up a 2027 pick,
01:37and that helps you cushion the blow a little bit.
01:40But my overarching theme here, my 30,000-foot view on this thing,
01:44would be they need game changers.
01:47And I'll be disappointed if it's like 11 more or 12 more rookies come in
01:51and a bunch of these guys are taken after the fourth round.
01:54And I think they can find and cultivate depth.
01:57They did a good job of that last year.
01:59If you look at the Super Bowl and the way Seattle played against them,
02:02it was a lack of game changers.
02:04They didn't fear any of their skill position players on offense other than May.
02:08And defensively, I don't think they really feared anybody.
02:11Now, I know someone's going to say, well, what about Christian Gonzalez?
02:13He had a good game.
02:15He definitely did.
02:15But there were two times JSN beat him for touchdowns,
02:19and Darnold, that stiff, who I can't believe has a Super Bowl to his name,
02:23was late or behind or both on the throw.
