Daniel Boone, Trail Blazer (1956) is an American historical Western adventure film co‑directed by Albert C. Gannaway and Ismael Rodríguez, starring Bruce Bennett, Lon Chaney Jr., and Faron Young. Set in 1775, the story follows frontiersman Daniel Boone as he leads settlers into Kentucky, only to face attacks from Shawnee warriors who have been misled by a French renegade into believing the settlers intend to steal their land.
The film blends frontier mythmaking with action sequences, fort sieges, and Boone’s attempts to negotiate peace. Shot in Trucolor in Mexico and released by Republic Pictures, it arrived during the height of the mid‑1950s American frontier craze.

00:04:11Oh, how many men?
00:04:13Six escalfs.
00:04:15Oh, for six escalfs, General Hamilton pays six good British rifles.
00:04:21Not enough.
00:04:23Allure, this is our agreement.
00:04:26How many rifles for the yellow hair of Boone?
00:04:32You say Boone?
00:04:37This time, Scarrae, I take great pleasure to go with you.
00:04:44How many rifles?
00:04:48For Boone's scalp, many rifles.

00:07:52Sorry.

00:09:17Wait.
00:09:19Travel where, Andy?
00:09:20Where do you think?
00:09:22It's time we show them we won't put up with these killings.
00:09:29If anyone has a right to fight, I do.
00:09:46His ways may sometimes seem strange.
00:09:49And we ask for strength and courage and his guidance as we face each new day
00:09:54here in the wilderness.
00:09:56This we ask in his name.
00:09:59Amen.
00:10:01Amen.
00:10:10Sis, James wouldn't want you to feel that way.
00:10:13James was a brave man.
00:10:15And a brave man's deeds live long after he's gone.
00:10:19James wanted Boonesboro to prosper.
00:10:21He wanted people to come here, happy people.
00:10:25As long as Boonesboro exists, your brother James will always be part of it.
00:10:31He loved it.
00:10:32He believed in it, just the way we do.
00:10:36So let's be the same way for James.
00:10:43Thanks, Pa.
00:10:48Let's go home, Becky.
00:11:05What I can't figure out is, what are we doing in this god-forsaken wilderness anyway?
00:11:13Transylvania Company has put up a lot of money for us to come out here and build this fort.
00:11:18Well, we built it, didn't we?
00:11:22And now I'm thinking it's time for us to go back to civilization before we get our hair husked.
00:11:29Andy, I just dropped by to check the supplies and ammunition before I left.
00:11:34Do you really think you can find Squire and stop him?
00:11:37A man can only do his best.
00:11:39Well, you've got to do better than that, Boone.
00:11:41It's important to me.
00:11:42My daughter is on that wagon.
00:11:44It's important to me, too, Andy.
00:11:47My three youngest children are riding with Squire.
00:11:53When do you think you can leave?
00:11:56In the morning, right after prayer meeting.
00:11:59You're supposed to be a friend of Blackfish, Boone?
00:12:01Why don't you talk to him?
00:12:02I will, Andy.
00:12:04As soon as I find Squire and stop him.
00:12:12Israel?
00:12:13Yes?
00:12:15You know, Israel, I've been around Fort Boonesbury here for a pretty long time now.
00:12:22And I...
00:12:22So?
00:12:24Well, so...
00:12:25I was kind of wondering, Israel, about a...
00:12:30About...
00:12:32Susana?
00:12:33Yeah, thank you, Israel.
00:12:34You know, it's...
00:12:35You and her were back in Virginia for quite a spell.
00:12:38And, well, it seems to me like...
00:12:40Well, maybe it's possible that she met some other young men while she was there.
00:12:43And then...
00:12:44It's possible, mind you, Israel.
00:12:46Possible?
00:12:48Well, she didn't, did she?
00:12:49What?
00:12:50Meet someone else.
00:12:51Who?
00:12:52Susana.
00:12:56Boy, you Boones sure stick together, don't you?
00:12:59Yeah.
00:13:01Oh, hello.
00:13:04Goodbye.
00:13:06Goodbye.
00:13:08Well, this is it.
00:13:09A few sacks of grain, a few kegs of powder.
00:13:13It'll take months to get enough settlers and supplies down here to man this fort.
00:13:17Meanwhile, we can't fight red coats and red skins.
00:13:21It's up to us to keep the peace, Andy.
00:13:23With a tomahawk in your back?
00:13:26It isn't how you die.
00:13:27It's what you live for.
00:13:29We're here to protect the interests of the Transylvania Company.
00:13:32We're here to help the settler moving west, to replenish his supplies, to protect him as he's moving through the
00:13:37gap.
00:13:37Why, if we move out now, it'll take years before we can establish another fort.
00:13:42You're a dreamer, Boone.
00:13:44And maybe you're a fool, too.
00:13:46If we leave now, we can save some lives.
00:13:50A man has to do what he thinks best, Andy.
00:13:54Colonel, someday, Boonesboro will be the largest trading post and settlement in the west.
00:14:00That's the kind of talk I keep getting from Boone.
00:14:02I know, sir.
00:14:04That's where I got it.
00:14:10Hi.
00:14:11Hi.
00:14:20Thanks.
00:14:24Beautiful, isn't it?
00:14:26Sure is.
00:14:28What do you see out there, Susanna?
00:14:31Rolling Hill?
00:14:33Green Valley?
00:14:34A lot more than that, Farron.
00:14:36I see a generous helping of the future.
00:14:40Tomorrow.
00:14:43And forever.
00:14:45You know, I've been doing an awful lot of daydreaming up here.
00:14:52Daydreaming an awful lot.
00:14:55In fact, sometimes it even scares me a little bit.
00:14:57It shouldn't.
00:14:58My pa says that any dream is possible.
00:15:01Of course, sometimes one takes a little longer than the other, but...
00:15:04But all you have to do is...
00:15:06Is keep dreaming.
00:15:09Dreams.
00:15:12There's a long green valley
00:15:17Up beyond the mountains
00:15:23Long green valley
00:15:29Waiting there for me in the sun
00:15:34Down that long green valley
00:15:42Flows a bright blue river
00:15:46Down that long green valley
00:15:52Flowing slow and cool to the sea
00:15:58I'm going there
00:16:02I'm going there
00:16:05Where a man can make a life of his own
00:16:10I'm settling there
00:16:13I'm settling there
00:16:15Where a man can live and die
00:16:18And eat his own hump of sky
00:16:21And be free
00:16:23And be free
00:16:24That's for me
00:16:27Down that long green valley
00:16:32All beyond the mountains
00:16:38And that long green valley
00:16:46Is calling to me
00:16:51Is calling to me
00:16:57That's one Calloway you'll never have to worry about
00:17:00You mean that's one Calloway we will have to worry about

00:17:52You know son
00:17:54Some Indians don't like to talk to a white man with a rifle in his hand
00:18:00You still want to go?
00:18:01Yes Pa
00:18:01Are you going to let him go Ma?
00:18:06It's your Pa's way of teaching Susie

00:19:16Take your white men back to their own lands
00:19:19Why do you return with many white men?
00:19:21Such words fall upon my ears as though spoken by a lesser man
00:19:25They do not come from the heart and the spirit of the great chief of all the Shawnee
00:19:29White man has silver tongue
00:19:32It is sharp as a blade of a sword
00:19:35Cuts easy through the truth Blackfish
00:19:37There is an ugly sound upon the wind
00:19:41Could it be the voice of a man?
00:19:43Or the hiss of a serpent?
00:19:48Simon Gertie speaks
00:19:50He is Darnie brother like you
00:19:53Brother of Shawnee?
