00:04tonight on the curse of oak island oh wow check that out that's a great find that could be really
00:11really old this was used to build a wooden vault or some sort of structure down below for safe
00:16keeping after researching the xenomap i came across three churches on the west coast of france
00:21these three churches are pointing towards oak island you've got something big on your hands
00:25it's absolutely intentional it matches slot five in the money pit they were trying to conceal it
00:30which makes it even more spectacular
00:35there is an island in the north atlantic where people have been looking for an incredible
00:41treasure for more than 200 years so far they have found a stone slab with strange symbols carved into
00:50man-made workings that date to medieval times and a lead cross whose origin may be connected to the
00:59knight's templar to date six men have died trying to solve the mystery and according to legend
01:07one more will have to die before the treasure can be found
01:25you know what time it is treasure time a new day on oak island begins with great excitement
01:33for rick marty and their team as they are digging to historic depths in the money pit area
01:39we're right at the bottom of karma we're in the solution channel that's where the treasure's going
01:46to be look we've got as good a chance as any to find it today then i hope it's going
01:51to be right over
01:52there one day ago after excavating the seven foot diameter shaft known as karma one 212 feet deep
02:03to the bottom of the solution channel the team lifted the steel caissons to allow loose soils and debris
02:10to settle overnight into a pile below they are now about to retrieve those materials with a dig bucket
02:17and search them for evidence of a large source of silver which has been detected through water and soil testing
02:25in this area it is their hope that the silver is connected to the 14th century portuguese coin
02:32reportedly retrieved from the money pit by foreman james pitt blado in 1849
02:46all kinds of man-made things are in that solution channel we've proven it we've brought them up
02:52so i'm very hopeful that we're going to find some evidence of the treasure that we think fell into
02:57that collapsed area oh no it's billy can get it all in the truck get it down the wash plant
03:04see what's
03:05in here okay as rick gary and terry wait to search more spoils in the money pit area
03:11some 500 feet to the east near smith's cove it's pretty muddy yeah a little bit charles barkhouse and other
03:21members of the team are at the wash plant searching by hand through spoils that were previously removed
03:28from the karma one shaft and may contain important evidence or valuables not found by gary's metal detector
03:35this process has already produced finds such as a small hand forged iron chain it's a type of chain
03:43gary has previously found while metal detecting in europe and he believes could have been used to lock a box
03:51or a chest
03:55oh wow check that out look right there looks like a rose head spike to me and it's hand wrought
04:04to fasten
04:05different pieces of wood together and that could be really really old anytime the team finds something
04:10on the conveyor belt at the wash plant i mean we're excited but finding that rose head spike you know
04:20in
04:20the 1600s or earlier this could be from the original workings of the depositors of the treasure
04:27that's a great fight but that's going to go to the lab for sure and then the test that we'll
04:32keep
04:33looking meanwhile back in the money pit area right this is it looks like the last material
04:40let's go check it out let's give it one more go okay rick and the team continue to search through
04:47the final spoils retrieved from the bottom of the karma one shaft
04:58you think we've gone as fast as we can go you're done yeah so got one more chance still in
05:04the wash
05:04plant yep wash plant it is yep hey guys hey how you doing adam are we on bottom we're on
05:16bottom and
05:17we're cleaned up and bottom is 212. missed by an inch missed by a mile yeah well we're not going
05:24to
05:24miss the next time no no we didn't find it we just move on to the next location yep literally
05:30our top
05:30pocket location was the one we're about to move to right yeah find some treasure boys two weeks ago the
05:41team
05:41began excavating a shaft known as top pocket fine located less than 10 feet northeast of karma one
05:49this shaft was positioned directly over an area where water testing had revealed a massive source
05:55of silver deep underground making it their primary target for exploration of the solution channel
06:07that doesn't sound very good but unfortunately at a depth of just 25 feet the caissons were stopped by
06:16gravel backfill from a previous dig now using rock equipment's powerful rotating oscillator the team from
06:26canada can resume digging the tpf shaft down to the solution channel on the one hand karma one is a
06:34little disappointing but you just keep moving forward the quicker we get started the quicker we get down
06:40yep all right good thank you appreciate it thank you while the dig proceeds in the money pit area
06:49later that day hey guys hey every time i look at this i don't know what to make of it
06:57it's getting
06:57incredible it's really quite spectacular yeah rick and peter arrive on lot eight to check on the
07:04investigation of the cradle-like formation of stones that were found beneath a 40 000 pound boulder
07:12how in the world was that made it's a 40 000 pound boulder if you were to drag it in
07:19it would destroy
07:19this i'm not thinking about how they did it as much as the why i mean this was definitely purposeful
07:25we didn't remove any soil from down here whatsoever it was filled with rocks after removing the boulder
07:33revealed this mosaic-like stone feature archaeologist fiona steel has begun removing debris and some of the
07:41stones to determine what purpose it might serve especially since the team has already detected
07:48possible evidence of a shaft and even silver in the soils below it i've worked with stone most of my
07:56life
07:56and the labor that you see in front of you is it was quite laborious it meant something to someone
08:05i think
08:06we need to do as much work as possible to address one key question what's underneath the molder we
08:12had a lot of smaller rocks the ones that are these size all in the center and they were very
08:16loose so
08:17once i started removing them i started seeing these other rocks underneath and you can see the ones
08:22underneath are a fair bit larger in size than the ones that were actually on top and they extend all
08:28the
08:28way down here this is what's starting to produce itself as we've been excavating here i will say
08:35this that one there when i look at that the way it's positioned coming this way it's very curious
08:42positioning of that yeah i still can't get out of my head the shape of these boulders that we had
08:48which were very triangular we had this big one down here and we had another big one there and a
08:52big one
08:52there and it almost felt like there was a triangle pointing down to this boulder i mean when you think
08:57about this area you think about xena's map in the december triangle this could also be related to that
09:04in 2016 the late author and researcher xena halpern shared documents with the team believed to have been
09:13created by members of the knights templar one was a 12th century map of nova scotia and the other was
09:21a
09:21map of oak island possibly dating back to 1347 astonishingly it featured several locations written
09:30in french but when translated to english they marked known sites on the island such as the money pit
09:37the swamp and a site called the december triangle
09:43could the stone cradle and boulder align with the location on a possible templar map
09:50i've puzzled about whether or not this area could be referencing the so-called december triangle on xena's map
09:57i think we have to have a really proper look in the area in the vicinity of this stone and
10:04see if there's
10:05more information to be revealed that will help us understand the relationship between the dry
10:11on xena's map and this megalithic stone structure i came across this area here of a blue light clay and
10:19you
10:19can clearly see that there are chunks of charcoal like material mixed in with this clay
10:25i'm just not convinced that this blue um gray clay is natural to this area
10:31clay like this could be very similar to the clay that we find in the money pit
10:38i'm absolutely mesmerized by this this blue clay i wonder if this is very similar to the clay from
10:45the money pit on lot eight after removing some of the stones from the cradle-like feature that was
10:51covered by the massive boulder fiona has made a potentially important discovery if you look at the
10:58way the stones are now i've removed a few but it really looks like this clay material had been used
11:03to mortar in kind of a rounded section in the front of it it's absolutely intentional and purposeful
11:10and they were trying to conceal it and we did find some on lot five yeah makes it even more
11:16interesting
11:17yeah yeah yeah so if this matches that then again more more connections
11:24in 1804 the onslaught company carried out the first large-scale excavation of the money pit
11:30and encountered wooden platforms every 10 feet down to the 90-foot level during the dig
11:37they also reportedly found a thick layer of handwork blue clay at the 40-foot level which they believed
11:44was used as a sealant to keep water out of the shaft in order to protect something buried deeper below
11:52curiously in recent years the team has discovered hand worked blue clay in the swamp and in the round
11:59feature on lot five if fiona is correct that she has now found the same kind of blue clay material
12:06in this stone feature on lot eight could it be more evidence that this feature was created to hide
12:13something this could be anything the reality is there are lead and silver beyond baseline values within
12:21the structure itself possibly in association with a shaft or a tunnel so we have to be patient at this
12:29point this has to be driven by the archaeological process is there anything we can do with the clay yeah
12:35we'll get a nice big chunk of that soil and then take that back to the lab and then we
12:41can run it to
12:42the xrd and see if it matches the lot five till on the money pit till that's where it gets
12:48fun that's
12:49where it gets fun all right let's get the sample done there that's a good sample i'd like to give
12:56you this
12:56little bit here we'll need to get that to the lab as soon as we can there's a why here
13:04hopefully we
13:06can figure out what that is but i'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it but let's just keep
13:10moving
13:11this forward because we want to understand it what it may mean yeah yeah we've got a plan thank you
13:17all
13:17great see you guys the next morning that's the first can yeah just started if we're gonna find
13:30some top pocket vines it's got a bit is can in the money pit area rick joins other members of
13:36the team
13:36as the tpf shaft is once again being excavated in a location where the highest trace evidence of silver
13:44has been detected more than 200 feet deep in the solution channel our first 150 feet is going to
13:50be you know pretty benign but from there on it's everyone on deck and we want to keep their eyes
13:55peeled below 150 feet everything's open game here because the solution channel ranges between some 150
14:04to 220 feet deep where the team believes the treasure has fallen after the collapse of the original money
14:11pit pit it may take several days before the dig reaches its target depth yeah we're gonna backfill
14:17out of here down to about 150 feet we are in the area where there is evidence of the collapse
14:23the area
14:24where we have retrieved significant items so i'm hoping of course that this top pocket find location will
14:31provide the answer we all look forward to getting down to the bottom here this is the wall i sure
14:38hope you're
14:39right yeah the pibleto coins strongly hints that something is down there but at the end of the
14:45day if we can make this happen and we will we've just got to stay the course we're just gonna
14:52chew
14:52through it until we get to the treasure all right you'll see it later i'll be back thank you guys
15:09see you
15:09charlotte wheatley here in the war room in the war room rick craig and other members of the team
15:14are meeting with researcher charlotte wheatley charlotte she has some new information and i think today
15:21should be exceedingly interesting so having said that charlotte welcome to the war room thank you very
15:26much in light of a possible connection between the lot eight feature and zina halpern's believed 14th
15:33century templar map charlotte who is a colleague of emiliano judy and corian mall has been studying
15:41the map to look for more clues that may help verify its authenticity and how it may help solve the
15:47treasure mystery i came across this information after researching the xenomap which i've done four
15:55years research on i examined every name and place recorded on the map and one of them i found quite
16:01interesting i never heard it before was which means the lion cub of talmond what was interesting
16:09for me is how could talmond connect to the islands there is a place in france called talmond so talmond
16:18is on the west coast of france it is a small fishing port one of the nicest features of talmond
16:25is
16:25a beautiful medieval church and it's dedicated to a lesser known female saints
16:30called a hiding it's got a very simple interior typical of cistercian influence it was built in
16:37the 11th to 12th century by benedictine monks the benedictines are a catholic religious order that was
16:44founded in the sixth century and adhered to what was known as the rule of saint benedict a moral code
16:52for leading a faithful and productive life these writings inspired the formation of an order of monks
16:59known as the cistercians in 1098 and one of their most noted leaders was bernard of clairvaux who co-founded
17:08the knights templar in 1119. the church was fortified so that actually meant that they used it not only as
17:16a church but also as a as a force which is not a common thing on churches in france how
17:22is this
17:22connected to oak island and why they're used to the time the lion cub of talmond really interestingly
17:29there used to be a very intriguing feature that resembled the sphinx and was actually known as the
17:37sphinx of talmond and as you can see it is a sphinx like shape sadly um it was destroyed in
17:43the early
17:4420th century so there's nothing left today there is nothing left and the church itself used to
17:50overlook the sphinx so it makes sense that this could actually be the the lion cub of talmond
17:55oh so what interested me is that the church itself it's actually you used to be pointing towards
18:04where the sphinx was at roughly a 292.4 degree angle and when you follow the line of the church
18:11going through the front drawer and continue on a straight line when you go across the atlantic
18:17you end up on their current if that was one coincidence that's fine what gets quite creepy is
18:27that about 60 kilometers away i come across another chapel which is located in a place called courant
18:34and it is also dedicated to the same saint saint radivant the church itself is act the angle of 292
18:43.1
18:43degrees and when you follow that line from the back of the church in a perfectly straight direction
18:49you arrive on the current whoa and again this church was built by the same people who built the
18:57other church and in between both churches there is another madigan church and this is actually located
19:04in a town of the same name called saint radivant and it's orientated at a 292.1 degree angle
19:12so but if you follow the acts of the church in a perfectly straight direction we arrive again on
19:18the islands it's odd for sure so we have three churches under the same paint village built by the
19:24same group of people located in the 60 kilometer radius all on the west coast of france these three
19:30churches are pointing towards the islands it's interesting
19:37these two churches are pointing towards the islands so three points dedicated to the same lady built by
19:44the same group of people in the war room researcher charlotte wheatley is presenting new information
19:51about three potentially templar related churches in the region of talmont france that she believes are
19:58located on a east to west line that leads directly to oak island it just can't be coincidence i have
20:08tested this theory on lots of churches in france and this doesn't happen so i have asked other
20:14researchers to check if the alignment seemed correct and they all agree that these three buildings seem to
20:19be perfectly aligned with the islands talking about when was that built same period we're talking about
20:2513th 12 13th century yeah yeah it's curious it is the alignment charlotte mentions that's incredibly
20:34curious were the alignments with the church is purposeful there are perhaps our alignments that we
20:40are currently unaware of with other features on the island lot five lot eight the bog the money pit
20:49is there is there a connection here so i decided to take a look at the actual patron of these
20:55churches
20:56st radigons she was born around the year 520 and she actually wanted to dedicate her life to becoming
21:03a holy woman she made a monastery and she turned it into a sort of place of learning prayer and
21:11pilgrimage
21:13born into a royal family in the german land of thuringia radigund became a devout christian nun and emigrated to
21:21france
21:22where she founded the catholic abbey of the holy cross in the city of pontiers in 552 a.d
21:31a sacred site which reportedly houses a piece of the so-called true cross on which jesus was crucified
21:40and this is the thing that really got me is that when i did research on her i noticed that
21:45she's known
21:46to carry a book and she's known to carry a book with a four dot cross
21:57i've looked at lots of iconography of saints this is the only saint i found who's presented with a book
22:05with a four dot cross in recent years the team has visited numerous former strongholds of the knights
22:12templar in france italy denmark and portugal
22:19i think something pretty interesting oh and in each location they have seen prominent carvings of
22:28crosses surrounded by four dots we have the four dots cross there in the corner oh wow that some
22:34experts have interpreted to signify where the templar order hid sacred religious treasures
22:42curiously that same symbol was found by searchers on the so-called ho stone in 1921 on oak island
22:51has charlotte found new clues on xena halpern's map that may help verify a true connection to ancient
22:58templar related sites in europe and suggest it may be a key to locating where something of great or sacred
23:06value lies hidden on the island the uh ho stone that had the uh cross with the four dots i'm
23:14just wondering if
23:15continued research on that end you can also tie those symbols with those churches yes and i think
23:22maybe that's worth looking into if the connection that you're suggesting does exist then the map
23:28does have a piece of information that is connected possibly to oak island that's right yeah so it is
23:35possible and it needs further development it would be interesting to have a look on the island maybe
23:41there's another ho stone out there that's fair yeah but the question is what happened here
23:48i don't know i'm going to say the biggest mystery in the universe isn't it really
23:52i would like to think what happened here that this is a sacred place and it was chosen for a
23:57reason
23:58and i obviously hope there's something buried here and i hope you're going to find out
24:02with your help we will we say thank you thank you thank you thank you very much
24:12as a new morning dawns on oak island here we go we're moving on down yeah we got another load
24:20coming
24:20up in the money pit area gary terry and jack continue to monitor the dick in the tpf shaft
24:29we're slowly nearing the zone of interest in top pocket find one and i'm very hopeful that we're
24:36going to find clear evidence of the collapse of the money pit and find something really valuable down in
24:42the solution channel
24:49oh what the stock it's caving
24:57there's material popping in because the ground has suddenly begun to give way around the tpf shaft
25:05the team from sp canada and rock equipment will need to move the oscillator to find out if they can
25:12safely continue the excavation wow this is not good we felt the ground shake and you can see that the
25:23ground around the oscillator has given weight there's been a collapse okay come on holy cow it looks like
25:32we might have lost around did we yeah we're losing stuff down below wow
25:41we're losing stuff down below in the money pit area after reaching a depth of some 105 feet in the
25:48tpf
25:49shaft the surrounding earth has suddenly begun to cave in meaning a dangerous collapse could follow
25:57going at this depth it's a lot of wear and tear on everything there's a ton of friction there's a
26:02ton
26:02of stuff in the ground like we've seen settlement on the outside of the casing we did see from the
26:06table the can was a little bit shaky yep it's more of settlement from all the other work that's been
26:12done around it and the lighter material goes down as we agitate all the way down with the oscillator
26:17it's dropping all the material through the bigger holes and slots i remember the last time there was
26:22a collapse in this area it looks the same last year the collapse went straight down the side of the
26:27casing you know it was running full depth hey you got a problem we're having caving one year ago the
26:35earth
26:36surrounding the tb-1 caisson located less than 20 feet to the northwest suddenly began to cave in and for
26:43safety the team had to abandon the excavation of the shaft now sb canada and rock equipment must act
26:53quickly to prevent a larger collapse and allow the team to keep digging where they have found the most
26:59compelling evidence of treasure in the solution channel this is only about 10 12 feet up at the top
27:05so it's perfect time to build it back up we're back filling that'll solve that yep yep that'll tighten
27:10it up you got large diameter solid metal tubes being driven down into the ground and we've got a lot
27:17of
27:17activity going on where basically we have some cave-ins these types of things they create a lot of havoc
27:23there's material moving in and out away from the actual case on itself we have to mitigate those we have
27:31to push material back down into the hole because it's collapsed down in and around the caisson as
27:35we're pushing it down now we've got this stabilizing everything from 108 all the way up so i see we're
27:42going to pack a little bit around it right now and then we move on right yep we're getting ready
27:45to
27:45transition between the bigger casing to the smaller case okay good so it's telescoping time now essentially
27:51you know avoid all the problems for splitting the hole in two right right half the bigger casing takes the
27:56top half out 22 goes in finished it off what's the reason for changing to a smaller caisson see the
28:02material that we're going through we're going through hundreds of feet of this stuff so it relieves all
28:07that tension and whatever it takes to get down whatever it takes to get down there once sb canada
28:14fills in the collapsed areas around the eight foot diameter tpf shaft with gravel backfill they will
28:21continue the dig down to the solution channel using smaller seven foot diameter steel caissons
28:28this will safely allow them to dig below the collapsed region and reach their target depth
28:34anything and everything to assure that we're going to get all the way down to 220 that's the
28:38whatever it takes right get down there get deep find gary's treasure i love it see some of those
28:43top pocket vines when we get caissons down very near the solution channel things start to collapse
28:51i've seen it i've seen it collapse and collapse again and every time it was when we got close
28:57when we got close to the bottom so that's why i think it's entirely possible that's where a treasure fell
29:04to so we absolutely have to get to at least 220 feet on all of these yeah it looks like
29:12they're
29:12almost done so why don't we head back to the table sounds good yeah see you guys later guys
29:19as the dig operation proceeds in the money pit area hey carmen appreciate you stopping by
29:26you got something to show me we do in the oak island lab alex and members of the team
29:32are meeting with blacksmithing expert carmen leg they have invited him back to examine the rosehead
29:39spike retrieved from the karma one spoils two days ago carmen this spike was found by the wash plant
29:46team in the spoils of the karma one caisson emma you have some analysis of this spike compositionally
29:53it's a kind of unique iron what's unique about it that is that it has an exceptionally high phosphorus
29:59content so it's categorized as culture meaning it's brittle in colder climates
30:04culture or cold brittle it's when an iron has a high phosphorus content which affects its strength
30:10in cold climates culture iron is a great indicator for an iron age because now in modern times we can
30:17control the effects of phosphorus as it's a trait that we just don't want it does have some trace
30:24amounts of manganese but even higher amounts of sulfur so it's a weird mixture within a composition
30:31so the most likely date is mid 1700s at least wow so carmen what can you tell us well it's
30:41a square
30:42shank spike i'm gonna say it was probably five or six inches long originally it's hard to see the head
30:51on this but it looks like it's very crudely made it doesn't have any form to it uh what does
30:55it show
30:56on the skin emma well it's just basically smushed down mushroom yeah but it's not formed it was driven
31:04straight down and the fibers are all split out like mushroom this is a piece of something larger and they
31:10took it drove it into something so probably the reason they reused it is because it broke so an improvised
31:17spike yeah i think they really used it and just smashed it into something this came from where we
31:21do know for a fact it came from below 167 feet so to me that means that it's deeper than
31:27any searchers
31:27have reached especially in that area which makes it very interesting yeah these are typically used
31:33for planking you know not for the main structures or anything but oftentimes when they were making large
31:38boxes or vaults that leads me to think that this was used to build a wooden vault or some sort
31:44of
31:44structure down below for safekeeping something
31:52this is something that you would see oftentimes when they were making large boxes or vaults or
31:57something they wanted to um keep safe some valuable they wanted to keep safe that'd be good that is what
32:03we're looking for in the oak island lab carmen leg is examining a potentially mid 18th century spike
32:11that was recovered from nearly 170 feet deep in the karma one shaft this is something that was reused
32:19you know any effort here on the island was obviously done in secret if there was a deposit made they
32:26had
32:26to use what they brought and this is sort of speaking to that emma is there enough wiggle room in
32:32that
32:32early date to include 1746 absolutely well that's interesting because that uh allows for the
32:38possibility of the duke d'onville because we're talking about one ship that got separated from the
32:43main fleet that decided most prudent to bury what they were carrying so it didn't fall into enemy hands
32:49so they would have had to work with what they had on that one ship could doug be correct that
32:54the team
32:54may have found a new clue linking possible buried treasure in the money pit to the duke d'onville an
33:0118th century french noble whose family had links to the knights templar in 2017 doug found part of a
33:10ship's log in the nova scotia archives that described the burial of treasure in a deep pit on an island
33:17in
33:17this area back in 1746 the log was reportedly written by a crew member under the duke d'onville's command
33:28this little spike is maybe telling us that our theory about the collapse is correct and that we're
33:32close because we're picking up traces of something from the original money pit so we would be then
33:38looking at just remnants of things that didn't make it all the way down there in a collapse so even
33:43though
33:43we didn't hit the treasure in karma finding this spike tells us that we were close yeah the hope is
33:50if it is something from the money pit if it is something from a chest or a box to me
33:56it speaks to
33:57the possibility that other things will be found that could be the source of the silver concentrations
34:04that are indicated by the soil samples and the water samples at this location and hopefully there's
34:10something down there in the top pocket find one it's very interesting so you know thank you both
34:15for your analysis i think it says we're on the right track and we need to keep going so that
34:20said we will
34:22try to bring you guys some more to look at very good thank you see you later later that day
34:32while the excavation of the tpf shaft continues in the money pit area
34:39how's it going hey rick we just lifted a couple more rocks all right and under those rocks we're
34:45getting organics i gotta get down there go for it rick joins jack and the archaeology team as they
34:52continue excavating the cradle-like formation of stones on lot eight no idea how deep no yeah no but
35:01it's giving us reason to keep going so we're going to try to expose the base and then work our
35:06way up
35:07to see how it was built do you think what you're calling the second level is that natural or those
35:14placed as well no i think they're still all placed right now this seems to be
35:22firmly affixed i can't get it out we're all curious you know i can give it a try i'm not
35:27saying i can
35:27do it though yeah absolutely you come this way i'll go that way i'll disturb those
35:42oh no that one's there oh there's no give to that that's amazing they are locked in there tight
35:51lot eight presents all kinds of possibilities one of which has to include that zena's map may have
35:58some relevance here oh boy that's a net whether because this construction was some sort of alignment
36:05or maybe there's something under there we need to figure out what this construction represents
36:14oh wow that's that is definitely in there yeah i think that's in there i think that could be
36:20redeposited in this i think it is it's embedded no i really want it out they're fixed in there quite
36:26tight yeah scrape this stuff yeah it almost looks like some sort of hard clay yeah it's uh
36:36i would put a little chunk like that some water and see what its consistency turns into it
36:42it might be able to reconstitute it as it was used yeah you have a little water there joe yeah
36:49let's see if it turns into anything okay thank you
37:00is it turning into like a clay well like a almost like almost a little bit like cement yeah now
37:08that
37:08looks like cement yeah this is unbelievable
37:16now that looks like cement yeah that's why this held right yeah and this is just all filled in
37:23that's what you see here oh yeah on lot eight rick has just discovered evidence that the stones
37:30which were uncovered below the massive boulder appear to have been set in place with man-made mortar or
37:40cement once it dries i'll bet it adheres perfectly to that really gritty cement yep and you wouldn't
37:49think when you break it apart right now it's just sand yeah i bet there's a lot of calcium carbonate
37:54in
37:54here when you compare this elementally to cement through the ages i think you're gonna get a fairly
38:03accurate date like from roman cement on forward be interesting to see which kind of cement this
38:11matches oh yeah that would be interesting that would be crazy yeah because different types of concrete
38:19mixtures have been used throughout the ages of human construction dating back as far as ancient egypt
38:26could determining the contents of this material help the team approximate when this feature was created
38:33i believe the mortar or the cement-like material might reveal a wind maybe even tell us where does it
38:41come from is there a cultural association hopefully there can be some answers derived from this analysis
38:49that mixture might be quite revealing it resembles uh a lot five on the semicircular feature yeah yeah it looks
38:57a lot like the clay we found there what turned out to correlate with the maroon till from the money
39:02pit
39:02yeah yeah it'll be interesting to see how it tests yeah well if it corresponds to those two you've got
39:08something big on your hands yep oh look at that in addition to the blue clay found on lot five
39:15and
39:16reportedly by earlier searchers in the money pit the laginas and their team have also discovered a similar
39:24looking mortar-like material in the round feature on lot five that matched soil samples for more than 100 feet
39:31deep deep in the money pit area it's all smeared all through here so if the team can match this
39:39cement material on lot eight to those structures
39:42could that mean all three may have been built by the same people
39:47to move a 40 000 pound rock into a position on a nicely crafted rock cradle
39:54i mean you have to come up with a theory as to why somebody was moved to move that boulder
39:59and maybe
40:00they were trying to hide something very important what in the heck went on on this island uh it just
40:08raises the mystery to new levels there was a reason for this and it wasn't just to support that boulder
40:15it could go deeper it could yeah and the archaeology will tell okay well you know what i'm gonna let
40:23you two get back to work all right i have a feeling those rocks are gonna need a little bit
40:28of persuasion
40:28to come on there yeah i'll do my best okay all right thank you look by digging in the ground
40:36and far back
40:38into history rick marty craig and their team are finding mounting evidence that people journeyed to
40:46oak island long ago to hide precious and perhaps sacred secrets and through patience and tireless effort
40:55they may have identified not only structures that those people inhabited but now at least two other
41:02locations where those secrets could lie buried so as the team looks deeper have they uncovered the final
41:12barriers between them and the ultimate answers or will they encounter something much harder to break
41:20through then bedrock and concrete next time on the curse of oak island
41:34broken through into the solution channel that's what we're looking for the three churches have
41:39exactly the same stellar alignment of lock five this could be a tunnel shaft entrance maybe it's just
41:46right under here a piece of wood what's wood doing donut day maybe this wood came from the original
41:51money pit if there's wood at the top maybe there's gold at the bottom possibly treasure on deck
