00:48How many people have lost someone in their lives because of gun violence?

00:57I carry it because for me, I'm taking responsibility and accountability for my safety, the safety of my community, and

01:05I may look like I'm a tough gangbanging street dude, but I've never touched a gun in my whole entire
01:09life.
01:10Don't plan on it.
01:11I don't own an assault-style rifle, but I'm still a gun owner and a Republican, and I want change.
01:17What's different about the United States that causes this to be something we even have to talk about?
01:23People are really hurting, and they're hurting, and there is a gun within arm's length.
01:29And I thought, oh my God, it's not just our city.
01:32It's not just our school.
01:34It's like it's her class.
01:35I don't want to take your guns.
01:37I want to be safe.
01:39I don't want another mom to have to experience this.
01:42I've never been opposed to doing things that make sense.
01:45And I think a lot of gun owners are the same way.
01:48They just feel attacked on both sides.
01:50Everyone feels attacked.
01:52Why do we have to be like that?
01:54Can we not just be adults and have a conversation?
01:57Signal louder than guns, more powerful than bullets fly.
02:03I think this is great.
02:05Contrary to what the news media or social media might have us all believe, we don't want to actually hate
02:10each other and want to tear out each other's throats.
02:12Sitting across from each other and talking about it is how we know that we're all not too far away
02:18from what we want.
02:19Though I might disagree with somebody, I share a common feeling of wanting to get over the impasse.
02:26And you guys are helping me do it, and I'll help you do it, and we'll help others do it.
02:30And together, let's get up and over, because these days they've got to get behind us.
02:34I feel like this is something that we as a nation go to hell for if we don't try something.
