00:00Problems for TaylorMade really a little bit last year
00:02with their two main guys in Rory and Scotty,
00:05who's spoken about this at length before,
00:07not going into the current product of QI35,
00:10sticking with their QI10 and subsequently it looks like
00:13it might be a third year where Scotty's back in the QI10.
00:18He's certainly there for the time being.
00:20I think sometimes, like your little eyes lit up there
00:23and I see all this chatter about it.
00:24The guy's broken almost every scoring record, money record,
00:28tournament, more majors with this driver.
00:31Is it that remarkable that he wants to stay in it?
00:33Is that not?
00:34We're so conditioned to the kind of stranglehold
00:36that the brands have over their ambassadors that we're like,
00:39well, he's going to change because that's what happens.
00:41We're so like, yep, that's going to happen.
00:43The fact that someone stood up and gone, no.
00:46And TaylorMade have obviously gone, fine.
00:48We want you playing our club still.
00:49It's like, great.
00:50I guess the problem comes and I wonder,
00:53this is probably unavoidable for a brand,
00:54but when the athlete, the player tries the new product
01:00and goes back, that's not a good look, is it?
01:03So they did that, I mean, the Bay Hill thing.
01:05Scotty's gamed QI40.
01:06Scotty's gamed QI35 for a bit last year.
01:08They both went on the same week, didn't they?
01:10Rory and Scott, both went in QI35
01:12and Rory ended up getting his QI10s Ubered.
01:15Do you remember that?
01:17Ubered from Florida.
01:18Scotty lasted about the same length of time
01:20before going back as well.
01:22Then I heard Nelly Corder in an interview saying,
01:25well, oh, those guys didn't switch,
01:27so they know what they're talking about,
01:28so I didn't.
01:29I know so much.
