India faces energy squeeze as US ends oil waivers


ಅಮೆರಿಕವು ರಷ್ಯಾ ಮತ್ತು ಇರಾನ್‌ ಮೇಲಿನ ತೈಲ ಆಮದು ನಿರ್ಬಂಧಗಳ ವಿನಾಯಿತಿಯನ್ನು ರದ್ದುಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಈ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಭಾರಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ತೈಲ ಆಮದು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಇದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸವಾಲಾಗಿ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸಿದೆ. ಇಂಧನ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಮೆರಿಕದೊಂದಿಗಿನ ರಾಜತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಸಮತೋಲನ ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯತೆ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕಿದೆ. ಜಾಗತಿಕ ತೈಲ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆಯ ಭೀತಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ.


India's merchandise trade deficit unexpectedly narrowed in March as a surge in exports to the US helped cushion the impact of the ongoing Iran war that has disrupted shipping routes and inflated energy costs.
