00:00When you watch modern MMA, especially in, let's say, the division that you used to rule, 135 pounds,
00:06what do you think of the women in particular in that weight class?
00:10I think, you know, in general, everybody's doing a good idea, like, everyone's doing a good job,
00:16but I think everybody's too afraid to offend.
00:21And, you know, if outrage drives engagement, you've got to be a little bit outrageous sometimes.
00:27And I think that a lot of the women are having the same issue that they were having when I
00:32first came into women's MMA,
00:34is they think that their job is to be liked, to be universally liked, and to avoid criticism.
00:39I think it's their job to drive discussion and to create stories behind their fights.
00:44And I think that's one thing that's kind of being left behind, that everyone feels so secure in their position
00:50and that the division is, you know, here to stay and not going anywhere.
00:55But I think they need to remember that they're always still fighting for their place.
01:01They're always still fighting to be a headliner.
01:04You have to be able to tell a story.
01:06And I think one thing that they're really lacking is, like, putting a lot of thought into media and stuff
01:12like that.
01:13Like, I think about, like, every question that could be asked of me and try to already think of what
01:19would be a good answer for that.
01:21And every time I answer a question, I think, like, oh, how could I have said that more succinctly?
01:25How could I have said that better?
01:26And if I've said it too many times, like, okay, how can I answer that in a different way?
01:30What I see is a lot of the women just, like, you can tell they're not putting any thought into
01:35it until they're asked.
01:37And it shows.
01:38And nothing memorable is coming out of their mouths.
01:41And that's what sets MMA apart from the Olympics.
01:45This is, like, entertainment.
01:47You are professionals.
01:48And your job is not just to show up and fight.
01:50Your job is to get people to watch you fight.
01:54Your job is to get people to watch you fight.
