00:00We're talking about the resignation of Diana Russini.
00:04Last night, late in the afternoon, resigned from The Athletic.
00:09And she also published, by way of her Twitter account, her ex-account,
00:15her resignation letter that she sent, which also is serving as a statement.
00:21It's not just a resignation letter.
00:23It's serving as a public statement that she would like to make.
00:26It's performative in nature, this resignation letter.
00:30Which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
00:36None of it makes sense.
00:38It's a rubbish statement, is what it is.
00:42If you've picked through it, you know that she resigns.
00:46And right away calls the decision one that is made with deep sadness.
00:51But with clarity about what is right for me, my family, and the work I have spent my career.
01:01In writing to Steven Ginsburg, who publicly defended Diana Russini last week, she writes,
01:08You and I have already publicly addressed the recent attacks against me.
01:14And I have nothing to add publicly to what we have said.
01:18I have covered the NFL with professionalism and dedication throughout my career.
01:23And I stand behind every story I have ever published.
01:28So it takes until the second paragraph for Diana Russini to start playing the victim and to start blaming everybody
01:40for what has happened over the last week except herself.
01:45Nobody's ever questioned your stories or what you reported on.
01:49Your stories are pretty damn good.
01:50You've got information.
01:52Nobody's ever questioned that.
01:53That's not the issue.
01:55When it started, you asked me and you said to me,
01:58So what would your wife or my wife do if we saw something like this?
02:04And my first thought is if I'm with someone and I'm innocent, like those pictures don't dictate what happened.
02:13Here's my phone.
02:14Go through my text.
02:16Here's my emails.
02:17Here's the six people I claim that were with us.
02:19Here's their contacts.
02:20You may speak with them.
02:23And by the way, I'm a woman.
02:25I'm working here.
02:26And it's a tough business that I work in.
02:28Be careful what you want to do.
02:30Because if you want to can't be, I'm going to be lured up.
02:32Because I need to do a damn thing.
02:34You.
02:35You.
02:39You.
