00:00The key to great chipping is understanding where to land the ball
00:03and how it's going to react when it hits the green. Landing zones.
00:08I'm just on the edge of the green here, I've put my towel out, I've got a nice chip to
00:12the flag,
00:13I've got my 56 degree wedge and I'm just going to play a couple of shots
00:17and see where I'm going to land the ball and see how it runs out.
00:21So if we just play one we can analyse the roll.
00:27Well you can see that, first off perfectly on the towel, 50% of its journey through the air,
00:32it released out nicely to the flag. I can begin to understand what the ball's going to do,
00:37the energy I need to give it to get the ball close to the flag.
00:42If I under hit it, clearly it's not going to get there.
00:45Okay, technique was fine, strike was good, but I'm beginning to understand now
00:50how this 56 degree wedge is going to react when it lands on the green.
00:55So one more, if I can dial it in, really focus on my landing zone.
01:02Okay, that one checked up, but I was pleased with when I tried to land it.
01:05It's a real key element to you chipping the ball close and making more pars.
