00:02A night of music turned into a tragedy.
00:05Two students lost their lives after a suspected drug overdose at a live concert in Mumbai's
00:11Korygaon. And what happened inside raises serious questions. The concert, reportedly
00:16organized by Nesco 9x9, saw participation from 36 colleges with over 3,600 students
00:22in attendance. According to police, some youths allegedly consumed MDMA, also known as ecstasy,
00:27along with alcohol, before the concert.
00:45Vandrai police have arrested six individuals, including the event organizer Akash Samal,
00:50also known as Svihan. Further investigations are ongoing. MDMA is a psychoactive drug that
00:55alters mood and perception, often used at concerts for its short-term high. But it also
01:01disrupts the body's ability to regulate temperature, which in crowded and high-energy environments
01:05can lead to organ failure and even death. In India, MDMA is illegal, under the Narcotic
01:11Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, which imposes strict penalties for possession, consumption
01:16and trafficking. A night meant for music and celebration has now become a grim reminder
01:20of how one wrong choice can turn fatal.
