00:08In a statement Colombian's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was formally requested that the Peruvian authorities to clarify the
00:14events involving a Colombian vessel that was struck by gunfire on the night of April 12th on the Putumaya River
00:20in the Department of Amazonas.
00:22The statement adds that these events resulted in the death of José Miguel Gutiérrez, captain of the RR San José,
00:30and left one of his sons injured.
00:32Other individuals who were on board were allegedly detained by Peruvian authorities.
00:37In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also requested that Peru's Foreign Ministry provide information in the health status,
00:45legal situation and whereabouts of the Colombian citizens aboard the aforementioned vessel.
00:49At the same time, the Consulate of Colombia in Iquitos initiated the relevant consular procedures to provide assistance and support
00:57to those affected.
