00:00It's going to be quite an adjustment, isn't it, for Moscow and Washington.
00:04Both President Trump and President Putin seem to have rather close ties with Viktor Orban,
00:10and President Trump and people in his team seem to be championing him in these elections.
00:16I wonder what they particularly liked about him.
00:18Well, they liked the fact that he was an authoritarian right-winger
00:21who was very opposed to anything that conceded or seemed like sort of liberalism.
00:27In fact, he boasted of having an illiberal democracy,
00:31and that chimes in very much with the kind of ideology that Trump and his MAGA movement in America have
00:37always favoured.
00:39Putin, for different reasons, of course, was very pleased that Orban maintained pretty warm and close relations with Russia,
00:46even though the Ukraine war was still raging,
00:49and that Orban had actually vetoed the 95 billion dollar, or euro, sorry, aid package to Ukraine.
00:59Both of them had separate interests in keeping Orban in power,
01:04and both of them, I think, will be mightily disappointed.
