00:00Can I just add what one was said regarding Putin's statement yesterday?
00:06I think one should acknowledge and recognize he was speaking to Europeans, and about Europeans, not about Americans.
00:15And I think he's doing that deliberately with the view to provoke the split within the alliance,
00:22trying to showcase, well, look, Donald Trump, America friendly, the collaborative,
00:27and those, you know, Europeans are trying to spoil the party.
00:34That's one of his hybrid aims in an entire war against Ukraine and the West is about how to split the alliance,
00:43how to introduce demotivation within Ukrainian society, and, you know, and drive the wedge both within Ukraine,
00:52but also within the alliance, allies and friends of Ukraine.
00:56Ambassador, is he succeeding in that, do you think?
00:59I mean, we've seen President Donald Trump being a little bit short with Europe.
01:05This wedge could really be driving home.
01:08Well, I mean, he's, I mean, Russians have been, I mean, successful in that effort for a considerable time.
01:15You know, coming back from my experience as a European Union ambassador in 2013 through 2017,
01:23what I call during the first war against Ukraine, you know, it was very hard to reach the consensus
01:31among, at that time, 28 member states to impose the first sanctions.
01:36I will not name the countries whose ambassadors walked out of the room when I was tasked by Brussels to forge a consensus
01:45to impose first sanctions on the Russian individuals and on Russian businesses who were profiting and contributing to the war against Ukraine.
01:55So we are witnessing that again now when EU is struggling to achieve the consensus among all 27 in a, in a, in a bigger support for Ukraine or even using the frozen assets.
02:08I mean, likewise, he's also, likewise, he's also trying to, you know, drive the wedge between Americans and Europeans.
02:19I mean, nowadays, showcasing America as a good friend and Europeans as those who are trying to spoil, as I said, the party of two.
