00:02This is the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Resident Evil Requiem Edition.
00:07And the last time Nintendo partnered with Capcom to make a Resident Evil Special Edition controller
00:11was in 2005 with the Resident Evil 4 GameCube controller.
00:15This is also the first Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller we've gotten
00:19besides the base one that launched all the way back in June.
00:22So I'm going to unbox it, check it out, and see how it compares to the original.
00:31All right, initial impressions here.
00:33We have a newspaper design on the front which showcases some of the clues about the plot of the game.
00:40Nothing spoiler heavy though.
00:41It mentions Raccoon City which is a very popular location for Resident Evil.
00:46Nothing on the back, just a regular design.
00:48Looking at them side by side, the joysticks don't have the dual tone colors like you did with the original
00:54here.
00:54I will say that the color of the actual controller leans a little more towards a graphite.
01:00When looking at them side by side, I'd say the original is much darker
01:03and the Resident Evil one is more of like a dark gray graphite
01:08and it has much more of like a matte texture to it.
01:10Pricing wise, the Resident Evil controller is going to run you $100
01:14whereas the standard Switch 2 Pro Controller retails for $90
01:17so it's $10 more to get the Resident Evil version.
01:20Most people are going to just want to stick with the default controller honestly.
01:23You're saving $10 and I actually like the design a little better.
01:27I'm not that high on it in terms of a collector's edition controller
01:30especially when we've seen what Nintendo has done with the original Switch.
01:33I'm going to go ahead and give this a 3 out of 5 rating.
01:37It's a very simple all black design which to me is a negative
01:40because I like something that has a little more pizzazz
01:43and a little more detail into the history of the game.
01:45I do appreciate the fact that there are people out there who might like the more simplistic design
01:50but for me it's just a little too simple.
