00:00The U.S. military is expected to enforce a blockade of Iranian ports as threatened by U.S. President Donald
00:07Trump.
00:08Markets have already reacted. Oil prices is back above $100 a barrel, with Brent crude up around 7% to
00:17just over $102 after peace talks in Pakistan collapsed over the weekend.
00:23This follows a brief dip last week after a two-week ceasefire was first announced.
00:30Prices had fallen into the mid-90s.
00:33But they have aged higher again in recent days as the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed,
00:39despite the U.S. Central Command saying it will not impede ships sailing through the Strait to or from other
00:46countries.
00:48Iran, meanwhile, has continued to export oil.
00:51Maritime intelligence firm Windward says more than 58 million barrels of oil has left Kark Island since March 1.
00:59The island is Iran's main outlet for crude exports, with more than 90% of it being directed toward China.
