00:09:16I have an announcement.
00:09:17Yay!
00:09:20It was just...
00:09:21You can handle it at the bad boys any day of the week.
00:09:25I don't think we've seen a star, star, star like you yet.
00:09:34I wonder do we have any valedictorians in this class?
00:09:37Where did you rank in your class, Carrie?
00:09:39I was salutatorian.
00:09:42But the only reason I wasn't valedictorian is because two of the classes I needed were at the same time.
00:09:48So you could have been it?
00:09:50Yeah.
00:09:51And I remember talking to the counselor like, this isn't fair.
00:09:54What were you?
00:09:55I was not in the running.
00:09:58You didn't qualify.
00:09:59I was known back then as Lionel who?
00:10:03Didn't even know I was in the class.
00:10:06Oh, God.
00:10:08How are you feeling?
00:10:09Good, I'm excited, I'm nervous, happy to be here.
00:10:11Yay!
00:10:12Finally here.
00:10:13Oh, it says idol.
00:10:14Today's the day.
00:10:15Feels incredible to have my family here because they definitely shaped me into the young one I am today and I don't know who I'd be without them.
00:10:24Love you so much.
00:10:25I've just been trying to think all the positive thoughts, manifest all the things, but the fact that it's all today I think is kind of stressed me out a little.
00:10:34Oh my gosh, I don't know why I'm so nervous.
00:10:36I'm sorry.
00:10:38Come on in.
00:10:39Hello.

00:10:43The sunshine yellow.
00:10:44We're doing fine.
00:10:45Tell us who you are, where are you from?
00:10:46My name is Ruby Ray.
00:10:47I'm 16 years old and I'm from Pacific Palisades, California.
00:10:50What are you going to sing for us?
00:10:51I'm singing Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo.
00:10:54Very good.
00:10:55Let's hear it.
00:10:56I hate to give the satisfaction asking how you doing now.
00:11:07How's the castle built off people you pretend to care about?
00:11:10Just what you wanted.
00:11:12But look at you, cool guy, you got it.
00:11:17I see the parties and the diamonds sometimes when I close my eyes.
00:11:20Six months of torture you sold to some forbidden paradise.
00:11:24I loved you truly.
00:11:26Gotta laugh at this stupidity.
00:11:28I made some real big mistakes.
00:11:32You made the worst one look fine.
00:11:35I should have known it was strange.
00:11:39You only come out at night.
00:11:42I used to think I was smart.
00:11:45You made me look so naive the way you sold me for parts.
00:11:52As you sunk your teeth into me.
00:11:55Oh, bloodsucker.
00:11:58Dream crusher.
00:12:00Bleeding me dry like a damn vampire.
00:12:07You said it was true love, but wouldn't I be hard?
00:12:10You can't love anyone, cause I wouldn't mean you had a heart.
00:12:13I tried to help you out.
00:12:15Now I know that I can't.
00:12:16Cause all you think is the kind of thing I'll never understand.
00:12:21I made some real big mistakes.
00:12:27You made the worst one look fine.
00:12:31I should have known it was strange.
00:12:34You only come out at night.
00:12:37I used to think I was smart.
00:12:40You made me look so naive the way you sold me for parts.
00:12:46You soaked your teeth into me.
00:12:48You soaked your teeth into me.
00:12:50Oh, oh.
00:12:52Oh, oh, oh.
00:12:53Wow.
00:12:54Bloodsucker.
00:12:56Dream crusher.
00:12:58Lead me dry like a damn vampire.
00:13:03I am vampire.
00:13:07Yeah!
00:13:08Oh!
00:13:13Wow!
00:13:15Can you hear me?
00:13:16She's going right now.
00:13:17She just finished, I think.
00:13:18Vampire?
00:13:19Yeah, I think I heard the claps.
00:13:20I am so happy for us.
00:13:22I'm so happy for you.
00:13:24Wow.
00:13:25That was right on the money.
00:13:30Thank you so much.
00:13:31If there were a thousand things on a list to check,
00:13:34I think you checked them all.
00:13:35I mean, I don't think we've seen a star, star, star like you yet.
00:13:40Really, really incredible.
00:13:43Your breath control is quite amazing.
00:13:47There was one point and you just kept going,
00:13:49and I'm like, when is she going to breathe?
00:13:53I'm just curious to know, what drove you to be here?
00:13:56Performing is my favorite thing ever,
00:13:58and I'm also here really for my community, the Palisades.
00:14:03We need a win after such a hard year for everyone,
00:14:06and I'm just, yeah, here singing for my family and my community.
00:14:09Where do we go in the last one?
00:14:11In January of 2025, there was a wildfire
00:14:14that destroyed a lot of our community.
00:14:19So much of our community burnt, like, my preschool,
00:14:24the first theater I ever performed in,
00:14:26the home that I lived in until I was five,
00:14:29my childhood best friend's homes.
00:14:31It was a really, it's been really hard
00:14:41that I'm seeing the town that I grew up in completely gone.
00:14:47After the fires, it was really hard
00:14:49to just find joy in the little things,
00:14:51but it's taught me a lot.
00:14:53It's taught me when everyone comes together,
00:14:55it can be so strong.
00:14:57Well, sorry for all of that.
00:14:58I know the pain that that community is going through,
00:15:01and to have such a bright spot like you
00:15:04to come in and represent is fantastic.
00:15:07I want to vote.
00:15:09Please, Luke, Luke, calm down.
00:15:10I want to vote.
00:15:11Calm down. Talk about it.
00:15:13What do you want to do, Lionel?
00:15:14I want to vote.
00:15:15Okay.
00:15:16It's a yes. Big old yes.
00:15:18Big old yes.
00:15:19Luke.
00:15:20As big as a yes can sound.
00:15:23This was a yes. Of course it was a yes.
00:15:24Are you kidding me?
00:15:26That was fantastic. Come on down here.
00:15:28You're going to Hollywood Week.
00:15:30Oh my gosh.
00:15:30Go out and celebrate.
00:15:38This golden ticket was 100% for my family
00:15:41and my community in the Palisades.
00:15:43This has definitely been one of the most challenging years,
00:15:46but I've learned that I can keep powering through
00:15:48and the light will keep on shining.
00:15:50Hollywood Week is upon you.
00:15:51That's right.
00:15:52That's a definite top tenor.
00:15:58That's a different kind of 16-year-old.
00:16:00I agree.
00:16:01Now that's a different kind of 16-year-old.
00:16:04Wow.
00:16:04I will give me no thing but my love for you.

00:17:10My mom is awesome.
00:17:12She sent a photo to you and I got a little postcard back.
00:17:16It's dated December 2006.
00:17:17Wow.
00:17:18And I thought I'd bring it now.
00:17:20Hopefully it's good luck.
00:17:22Hopefully.
00:17:23I love you so much.
00:17:25What are you going to sing today?
00:17:26Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue.
00:17:28Wow.
00:17:29Wow.
00:17:29You're already making Carrie happy.
00:17:32What just happened?
00:17:36You know I'm a dreamer, but my heart's of gold.
00:17:46I had to run away high.
00:17:51So when I come home low, I'm on my way.
00:17:56I'm on my way, home sweet home.
00:18:04Tonight, tonight, I'm on my way.
00:18:10I'm on my way, home sweet home.
00:18:19All righty.
00:18:23Cameron, you're very comfortable in playing and singing and emoting, which is really refreshing.
00:18:31You've got a nice voice, but I just don't know if it's all the way there yet for Idol.
00:18:36I'm trying to place you in a setting where seven songs in, is the house going to come down.
00:18:43I'm still not quite clear on that element of it.
00:18:48Yeah.
00:18:50It's going to be a no, but it's a real optimistic no.
00:18:53Okay.
00:18:54You have a good voice.
00:18:55I would love to hear more fire in there.
00:18:57It's just crazy.
00:18:58I know, I know, but if you can find that sass and push your voice, I think you deserve a chance to do that.
00:19:07So it's a yes for me.
00:19:09Cool.
00:19:09I'm going to work my butt off.
00:19:14I'm a no.
00:19:15Okay.
00:19:17Before I go, can I sing it with you?
00:19:19Let's do it.
00:19:20Okay.
00:19:21That's so cool that you would ask.
00:19:25Okay.
00:19:26Can you start or do I have to start?
00:19:29Did y'all plan this?
00:19:30No!
00:19:33All right, I'll go.
00:19:34Okay.
00:19:37You know I'm a dreamer, but my heart's a gold.
00:19:45I had to run away high, so I wouldn't come home alone.
00:19:50I was hoping that the saying no part would get easier.
00:19:54And it did not.
00:19:59It's a no for me.
00:20:01And it's, I was like 15 years old, and I had a chance, and it didn't work out.
00:20:08And if it had, it would have been the worst thing that had ever happened to me.
00:20:11So just keep at it, girlfriend.
00:20:15I don't want to BS these kids.
00:20:17I don't want to fluff them.
00:20:18You know, I want to make sure they understand they're not ready yet.
00:20:22I would really like to see you spend more time working on your, on your vocals.
00:20:27Yeah, it's a no for me.
00:20:30It's a no for me, bud.
00:20:31Thank you for being here.
00:20:32Thank y'all.
00:20:33Thank you, man.
00:20:35It was a no.
00:20:36You always just want to really reassure them that it's not their time yet.
00:20:43I'm going to give you an encouraging no.
00:20:45I want to push you, and I want you to find some fire in there.
00:20:48And for them to go continue their path in the music business.
00:20:52Sweet home, tonight, tonight, I'm on my way, I'm on my way, sweet home.
00:21:10There you go.
00:21:11It was like one of the best moments of my life.
00:21:15Lionel, they rehearsed that somewhere.
00:21:17They did not.
00:21:18Of course they did.
00:21:20I'm on my way.
00:21:22Yeah, I'm on my way.
00:21:25Oh, no, no.
00:21:26I finally sang that piece of pepper out of my throat.
00:21:28Oh, God.
00:21:29Luke, be careful.
00:21:30Tonight, tonight, I'm on my way.
00:21:34Yeah.
00:21:35It's okay.
00:21:35I got to sing with Carrie.
00:21:37You guys are heartless.
00:21:39We are not heartless.
00:21:40We are heartless.
00:21:41I'm 1,000% going to keep singing.
00:21:42It's my whole life.
00:21:43It's what I believe I was put on this earth to do, and I'm going to keep doing it.
00:21:48All right.
00:21:48I'm on my way.
00:21:50Way.
00:21:51Way.
00:21:51Way.
00:21:51Way.
00:21:52Way.
00:21:53Way.
00:21:53Way.
00:21:53Way.
00:21:53Way.
00:21:54Home, sweet home.
00:22:00My name is Michael Garner.
00:22:01I'm from Palestine, Arkansas, and I'm a sophomore in high school.
00:22:04Hey, y'all.
00:22:05What's up?
00:22:05All right.
00:22:06Hey.
00:22:07Gosh, how old are you?
00:22:08I'm 16 years old.
00:22:10That's great.
00:22:10Days of my youth.
00:22:12When I found out I was going to be able to audition, I started busting out crying, me and
00:22:16my mom and my dad.
00:22:17We're going to give you a shot.
00:22:18Are you serious?
00:22:20Yes.
00:22:20Yes, I am serious with her.
00:22:21I feel like this audition could definitely change my lives and my family's lives.
00:22:26But you're a long way.
00:22:28He's going to do great.
00:22:31We all believe in him.
00:22:33We're behind you.
00:22:34We love you.
00:22:35I've watched Idol with my family for a long time.
00:22:39This has always been mine and their dream.
00:22:42I always said that I was going to be on there someday, and here I am.
00:22:46Well, what do you do in Arkansas other than music?
00:22:49You know, deer hunt, duck hunt.
00:22:50The only thing there really is in Arkansas is football games and back roads, you know.
00:22:53A little bit nervous going in there?
00:22:54Yeah.
00:22:55Yeah.
00:22:56I think so.
00:22:57It's the biggest stage he's ever been on.
00:22:58It's a big one.
00:22:59Yeah.
00:23:00What kind of music are you into?
00:23:01Country.
00:23:02All right.
00:23:03He says what he says, and he says what he says.
00:23:06I like it.
00:23:06Man, a few words.
00:23:07What are you going to sing?
00:23:08I'm going to sing I'm Still Fine by The Red Clay Strays.
00:23:10Perfect.
00:23:11All right.
00:23:11Let's hear it.
00:23:14I'm on display, I've lost my way, oh God, I pray, let this pass over.
00:23:27I lost the note, I rocked the bone, I've even choked.
00:23:38I lost my composure, the people here living it up.
00:23:44I think they're blind, I think they're out of their mind, like one of them has had this.
00:23:56God's not giving me up, no, I'm just fine.
00:24:01It's just a matter of time.
00:24:05Though I can't feel my sadness, I know that it should be there.
00:24:12But baby, I'm just too tired to care, cause I'm still fine.
00:24:21All right.
00:24:24Where's he going?
00:24:28Boom.
00:24:29Boom.
00:24:30There you go.
00:24:31Boom.
00:24:32I wish you were like 20 years old.
00:24:35I mean, I believe I'm ready.
00:24:37You know, I'm willing to give y'all everything I got.
00:24:39Yeah, you are.
00:24:40You're really good.
00:24:41Yeah, you are.
00:24:42Whatever happens today, you're on the right path.
00:24:44Yes, ma'am.
00:24:45What you do with your voice is definitely beyond 16.
00:24:49Like, I feel like you have a control and a composure about yourself.
00:24:53I think I'm gonna, I'm gonna be wrestling over here.
00:24:58I think your opening was just nerves.
00:25:01Um, that look has not caught up to that matured voice.
00:25:05I have to think about this while Luke is talking to you.
00:25:08If we say no to him, what are we doing here?
00:25:11Yeah, yeah.
00:25:12I know what you're saying.
00:25:13In my opinion.
00:25:14I mean, I know he's young, but we're all saying that he sings great.
00:25:19Oh, she's just playing guitar great and he's singing pretty daggone good.
00:25:26So I look at you and I see my son and I would not throw him in the middle of it where you are at 16.
00:25:37So that's where I'm coming from.
00:25:40A no for me.
00:25:42What do we do with this young prodigy?
00:25:48It's a yes for me.
00:25:54It's a yes for me.
00:25:55Nice.
00:25:56Um.
00:26:06Tears.
00:26:07Ticket.
00:26:11Congratulations.
00:26:12Come over here, young man.
00:26:13Was that terrifying?
00:26:14I mean, flying in front of him, yeah, a little bit.
00:26:17We did it.
00:26:18We're going to Hollywood week.
00:26:19Let's go.
00:26:20He's going to do Justin Bieber.
00:26:21That scares the crap out of me.
00:26:23Listen.
00:26:24Listen, you're right.
00:26:25And all I can think about is Justin Timberlake.
00:26:29You can't take the mama.
00:26:30You can't take the mama out of me.
00:26:31Since when do you have a heart and you're a mother?
00:26:36Ms. Carrie, I just want to say I'm going to prove to you that I have what it takes.
00:26:50Oh.
00:26:51It's been a good day.
00:26:55Hello, hello.
00:26:56Hey.
00:26:57Hello.
00:26:58Tell us all about yourself.
00:27:01My name's Sheldon Riley.
00:27:03I'm 26 years old from Melbourne, Australia.
00:27:06Melbourne.
00:27:07What you doing here?
00:27:09American Idol, huh?
00:27:11You're crazy.
00:27:12I wanted to do music since I was a really young kid.
00:27:19When I was maybe about 15 years old, I sung at my school and I remember that first applause.
00:27:25I was like, yeah, this is what I want to do.
00:27:27I love the way it made me feel.
00:27:28I love the way that it made me feel noticed.
00:27:31About 10 years ago, I auditioned for a big TV show back in Australia.
00:27:36It was my big moment and I sung my song and they said it wasn't quite enough.
00:27:44Just you singing, it's not enough.
00:27:46You said don't lie, so I made the truth.
00:27:50That experience made me doubt myself.
00:27:52It made me feel I had to play a character just to be seen.
00:27:55It seemed like a lie to even you.
00:27:57I kind of created this character that dressed up like crazy.
00:28:01The most avant-garde, high fashion.
00:28:03Crystals and diamonds.
00:28:04And it was the thing that made people see me.
00:28:06You'll be my resolution.
00:28:09It just kind of took off.
00:28:10I had opportunities like crazy.
00:28:12Not just Australia, but the entire world.
00:28:14Characters have no new show.
00:28:18I've been on every TV show competition known to men.
00:28:21I've done it all.
00:28:22And the art was just getting crazier and crazier and crazier.
00:28:26It almost felt like an addiction to be the most memorable person in the room.
00:28:31But I'd come home.
00:28:33I'd take the mask off, the makeup, the accessories, the everything.
00:28:37And I would hate the person that I saw in the mirror.
00:28:40Hated that version of me.
00:28:42I'm not you, not you me.
00:28:47So I took two years off and remembered why that little kid got up on stage that first time.
00:28:54And this is the one show, there's no smoke, there's no mirrors, no nothing.
00:28:58And I said to myself, if I was going to come back into music, it would be here with just the piano and just me.
00:29:03And if you don't like it, you don't like it.
00:29:06I don't ever know if anyone's ever really going to want what I have to give without everything that I usually put on.
00:29:13That's a big part of why I'm here.
00:29:15Just to remind myself that my voice is enough.
00:29:20Everybody's got their version of what you just said.
00:29:23You know, everybody's got their mask, whether it is something physical that they hide behind.
00:29:28Or this certain identity that they've created for themselves.
00:29:33And, you know, then of course you do worry that if I wasn't that, would anyone still love me?
00:29:39Yeah.
00:29:40You're very relatable.
00:29:42What are you going to sing for us today?
00:29:44This is Brother by Matt Corby.
00:29:46It's an Australian singer.
00:29:48Yeah.
00:29:49All right.
00:29:53Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:29:56Ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:30:11Somebody call out to your brother, he's calling out your name.
00:30:16Whoa
00:30:19Hiding under the covers with no one else to blame
00:30:26You couldn't help out your own neighbor you couldn't tell it to his face you were messed up by the place
00:30:38You carry the corner
00:30:46Yeah
00:30:48Let it pass
00:30:50Away
00:30:56Right there
00:30:58Pull yourself out of this state
00:31:02Did acknowledge you were a fake
00:31:07Here and from then you might just
00:31:11Just
00:31:19Somebody call out to your brother
00:31:21He's calling out your name
00:31:25Whoa
00:31:29You couldn't know about your own neighbor
00:31:31You couldn't tell it to his face

00:31:55Yeah
00:31:57You being the loudest guy in the room you don't always have to be that
00:32:00Being the most dynamic singer in the room you don't have to be that
00:32:03It's okay to just peel a layer off
00:32:06But that was impressive
00:32:08Thank you
00:32:09You're an artist man

00:41:34She's going to Hollywood Week
00:41:36I couldn't stop looking at her baby knees
00:41:37Her what?
00:41:38Baby knees
00:41:39When you have like a face in your knees
00:41:40Oh really?
00:41:41Do you know baby knees?
00:41:42I've never heard of that
00:41:43I have baby knees
00:41:44Oh really?
00:41:45I have baby knees
00:41:46Oh really?
00:41:47I have baby knees
00:41:48Oh really?
00:41:49Right after Kate and William had their baby George, right?
00:41:51Right?
00:41:52Yeah George, yeah
00:41:53My knees were in a magazine and it was like Prince George's face is in Carrie Underwood
00:41:55knees and I was like what the crap is going on with my knees?
00:42:20So I have baby faces in my knees and I can make them sing too
00:42:24You can make them sing?
00:42:26It was like, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah.
00:42:30I gotta shake my knees now.
00:42:32All right.
00:42:33That's crazy.
00:42:35Ah, there we are.
00:42:54Hello.
00:42:55How you doing?
00:42:56Good, how are you?
00:42:57Great.
00:42:58What's your name?
00:42:59Hannah Harper.
00:43:00Where are you from?
00:43:01Willow Springs, Missouri.
00:43:02Where did you get that dress?
00:43:03This was homemade.
00:43:04If this doesn't scream yee haw, I don't know what will.
00:43:07What kind of music do you perform, listen to?
00:43:11I grew up doing bluegrass.
00:43:12My family had a bluegrass gospel band.
00:43:14Went church to church and sang at churches.
00:43:17I grew up in a super musical family.
00:43:20My dad worked at the lead mine for several years.
00:43:23One evening he was just feeling like God was calling him to do something different with his life.
00:43:27So in 2009 my parents quit their jobs and we bought a bus and we went on the road as a family band.
00:43:32The tour bus was 40 foot long.
00:43:36It was bright red and we lived on the bus for seven years.
00:43:40We just would go coast to coast and play banjos and sing for the Lord.
00:43:45It was a very unconventional upbringing but I literally wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
00:43:49We didn't come back into Missouri until 2016.
00:44:01We settled back down and then I met my husband.
00:44:03We got married and we found out we were pregnant with our first baby like four months after we got married.
00:44:08Oh, right in the noggin. I'm sorry buddy.
00:44:12Then one turned to three really fast.
00:44:15With three boys it comes a lot of chaos.
00:44:17And a lot of fun.
00:44:19Oh, watch your face.
00:44:21Cy why are you standing up there?
00:44:23Same old house, same old stuff.
00:44:27It's just hectic at all times.
00:44:30I'm trying out for the show just because I want the opportunity to give the boys the same life that I had growing up in a bigger way if possible to be able to sustain my family and do music full time.
00:44:48I have two boys. They make things more interesting.
00:44:54Oh, for sure. Mine's been screaming all day.
00:44:57Good. Yeah.
00:44:58That's great.
00:44:59Love it.
00:45:00What are you going to sing for us today?
00:45:01I'm going to sing an original that I wrote called String Cheese.
00:45:04You're like my favorite person. You're wearing homemade clothes. You're singing songs called String Cheese.
00:45:09What's the song about?
00:45:10My youngest is one and shortly after he was born I had postpartum depression and so I was sitting on my couch. I said I wasn't going to cry.
00:45:17I was sitting on my couch wallowing and you have boys, you know, everybody wants to touch you and I didn't want to be touched.
00:45:30And my youngest son, like I was just having a pity party praying that the Lord would calm my spirit.
00:45:39And my son kept coming up to me. He said, Mom, open this. Mom, open this. Open my cheese.
00:45:43I'm like, leave me alone with the dadgum cheese.
00:45:46And I finally opened his cheese. And when I did, I realized that God had put me in that place and that where I was in my house was the biggest ministry that I could ever have.
00:45:55And being a mom. So I gathered myself and I got up off the couch and I quit throwing a pity party and I realized that that was exactly what I wanted.
00:46:05And I kind of kicked the postpartum depression in the butt and I said I ain't doing it.
00:46:09There you go.
00:46:10So I wrote this song called String Cheese.
00:46:13Do you need a second? I want to give you like.
00:46:16Probably just give me one second.
00:46:17Yeah.
00:46:18I can't cry and sing. So I don't want to put you in that position.
00:46:23That is a tough one.
00:46:24Here.
00:46:25Thank you so much.
00:46:34Ready?
00:46:35I wore my morning coffee up for the third time.
00:46:53Missed Rachel on the TV with their favorite nursery rhyme.
00:46:59Hot wheels and little people under my feet.
00:47:04Baby's crying.
00:47:06It's pure chaos, but I don't miss a beat.
00:47:10Always knew that a nine to five wouldn't suit me very good.
00:47:17But my hours are extended.
00:47:20That's just motherhood.
00:47:23I never knew this is what my twenties would look like.
00:47:30But they saved me before I had the chance to waste my life.
00:47:36One day I'll be alone with a hot fresh cup of joe.
00:47:42Wishing that someone would just drop me by.
00:47:47And I'll sit and reminisce on times that I sure miss.
00:47:54I've scattered toys and a baby on my hip.
00:47:59I thought finding peace in the quiet's what I wanted.
00:48:05But I'd do anything to go back to being needed.
00:48:11To those days I want to cry.
00:48:16Run away and hide.
00:48:18But I'd worry about their every need.
00:48:23When I'm overwhelmed and touched out.
00:48:28They come climbing up on the couch.
00:48:31Saying, Mama, can you open my strange cheeks?
00:48:36I smile because I know meeting their needs fills my soul.
00:48:43Being their mama is who I'm meant to be.
00:48:53That's great.
00:48:54Do you have more questions?
00:48:55Oh.
00:48:57My turn.
00:49:00This pack is going quick.
00:49:02Well, that's about the most relatable song I think I've ever heard.
00:49:09Hannah.
00:49:12Great job.
00:49:14Great job.
00:49:15Just with that mountainous bluegrass sound that you have in there.
00:49:20I kept thinking like Kacey Musgraves is in there.
00:49:23I kept thinking certainly Alison Krauss.
00:49:26Like a little dolly.
00:49:27A little dolly in there.
00:49:29And gosh, even if we got you to lean in more on it.
00:49:32Just fill the room a little more.
00:49:34You're going to be able to move some people.
00:49:36But great song.
00:49:37Way to really write the moment you're in.
00:49:39Yeah.
00:49:40I want you to use Dolly as the example of two things.
00:49:44One, her storytelling ability.
00:49:46And two, she has the ability to tell that story and then give us a lift.
00:49:51Mm-hmm.
00:49:52You've got the range.
00:49:53I would have loved to have found you just on one of those lines.
00:49:56Just hold it for a minute.
00:49:59I was going up, but then I chickened out because I was crying.
00:50:01Yeah.
00:50:02Well, it's hard to come from a tear.
00:50:03It is.
00:50:04You might be my favorite person that's walked through those doors in the past three days.
00:50:08You're my new best friend.
00:50:09You're gorgeous.
00:50:12Like you look famous already.
00:50:15I just think you have just a beautiful simplicity to your voice.
00:50:19You're one that I'm going to think about when we leave here.
00:50:21Like, I wonder what song she's going to sing next.
00:50:24And I feel like I'm going to be just rooting for you.
00:50:26I loved everything about everything you just did.
00:50:30Thank you so much.
00:50:31I mean, it's a yes.
00:50:32I'll go first.
00:50:33It's a yes for me.
00:50:34I'll go second.
00:50:35It's a yes for me.
00:50:36Yes for me.
00:50:37Heck yeah, brother.
00:50:38Come get this.
00:50:39You are going to Hollywood Week.
00:50:41It's nice to meet you too.
00:50:42I just didn't meet you too.
00:50:43Oh my god.
00:50:44The chicken!
00:50:49Hearing Carrie say that I was one of her favorite people that has walked through the doors,
00:50:52I almost melted in my boots.
00:50:53That's the biggest compliment I've ever received.
00:50:55She was great.
00:50:56Oh.
00:50:57Goodness.
00:50:58It means a lot to me to get up there and stand and represent other moms.
00:51:03And let them know that they're not alone.
00:51:05And let them know that they can still chase their dreams with their little people.
00:51:08Some real juice on that one.
00:51:11Unassuming.
00:51:12Sweet.
00:51:13Perfectly moldable into stardom.
00:51:16And I'm gonna love you.
00:51:18Yeah.
00:51:19Can you help me put it on the fridge?
00:51:24Good job.
00:51:25Don't worry, love.
00:51:26No, you don't have to wait.
00:51:27She said love don't come easy.
00:51:28It's a game of give and take.
00:51:29I'll remember mama said.
00:51:30Oh, I missed me.
00:51:31Have you seen the guy do the...
00:51:32With pins and stuff?
00:51:33Is that one of your TikToks?
00:51:34Yeah, that's TikTok.
00:51:35I can tell right away.
00:51:36He's on, he's on the TikTok doom scroll.
00:51:37Oh, man.
00:51:38I remember swearing off TikTok and now I'm a TikToker.
00:51:41Pretty little baby.
00:51:42You say the baby.
00:51:43You say the baby.
00:51:44You say the baby.
00:51:45Oh, you don't have to wait.
00:51:46She said love don't come easy.
00:51:48It's a game of give and take.
00:51:49I remember mama said.
00:51:50Oh, I missed me.
00:51:51Have you seen the guy do the...
00:51:52With pins and stuff?
00:51:53Is that one of your TikToks?
00:51:54Is that one of your TikToks?
00:51:55Yeah, that's TikTok.
00:51:56I can tell right away.
00:51:57He's on, he's on the TikTok doom scroll.
00:52:03Oh, man.
00:52:04I remember swearing off TikTok and now I'm a TikToker.
00:52:11Is he down?
00:52:13Is he down?
00:52:14Look.
00:52:17I'm addicted to TikTok.
00:52:19I'll just go on and say it if anybody wants to intervene.
00:52:24Oh, look at that.
00:52:25Hey.
00:52:34And now I'm actually scrolling, finding talent that somehow makes it in front of us judges.
00:52:42Well, tell us how you made it here.
00:52:44Somebody happened to see me.
00:52:46That's right.
00:52:48What's your dreams in music?
00:52:50I want to go from being a TikTok singer to a real singer.
00:52:53And I also really want a Birkin bag.
00:52:55Oh.
00:52:56I've been everywhere, man, looking for you, babe.
00:53:00Looking for you, babe.
00:53:02Searching for you, babe.
00:53:03But, Lord, I've had a lot of no's.

00:55:23We're gonna start some fights.
00:55:25I think on the show, she's definitely still her silly self.
00:55:30She's a little crazy, and I love it.
00:55:32Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
00:55:35I have an announcement.

00:55:46Brittany has always been a very big mentor to me,
00:55:49so get out there.
00:55:50Okay, everybody, let's go.
00:55:52Okay.
00:55:53She has her own spotlight.
00:55:54She's living out her dream, and that's why I'm here, too.
00:55:57She is music.
00:55:59I mean, she radiates music out of her pores.
00:56:02It just explodes.
00:56:04Yeah.
00:56:05She bubbles in light.
00:56:06Yeah.
00:56:07Carmelita.
00:56:09That's my theme song.
00:56:11You go in there, and you rush it.
00:56:13My lovely Carmelita.
00:56:14Brittany, you can stand to the side and just sing Carmelita
00:56:16as she comes in, and they don't know what this is.
00:56:18That's the entrance.
00:56:19Carmelita.
00:56:22I really should do that.
00:56:24Does anyone have a glass and a knife?
00:56:28Why do you have a wine glass?
00:56:29Uh, you'll see.
00:56:34Howdy, howdy, howdy.

00:56:42What do you have?
00:56:43I have an announcement.
00:56:45What is the announcement?
00:56:46This is my beautiful niece, Carmelita.

00:57:09Hi.
00:57:10Who you're about to hear, and it's insane.
00:57:13Well, if we don't have good things to say, she has a knife.

00:57:31Sure.
00:57:32Yes?
00:57:33Let's do it, Miss Carmen.
00:57:34Okay.
00:57:35I woke up with a headache today.
00:57:44Cause I've got a mortgage due.
00:57:48And an empty bed to make.
00:57:53Baby, I bet you're happy now.
00:57:59Probably found just someone new.
00:58:02Who's got his life all figured out.
00:58:09Girl, I thought it was love.
00:58:17Girl, I knew it was love.
00:58:25I guess I didn't know what love was.
00:58:31All right.
00:58:32Good job.
00:58:33You have a really pretty voice.
00:58:34Like your range is really great.
00:58:35You're hitting some high notes in there.
00:58:36Yeah.
00:58:37But it would be great if you could put some oomph in there.
00:58:52Yeah.
00:58:53We actually might have something to sing together.
00:58:55Okay.
00:58:56Oh.
00:58:57Let's hear y'all do one.
00:58:58Okay.

00:59:03You got it.
00:59:04Okay.
00:59:05Let me be your star.
00:59:14I just have to forget the hurt that came before.
00:59:19Forget what used to be.
00:59:22The past is on the cutting room floor.
00:59:27The future is here with me.
00:59:33Just me.
00:59:37It's all you've been needing.
00:59:40It's all here and my heart's bleeding.
00:59:43Let me be your star.
00:59:56Oh great.
00:59:57Wow.
00:59:58Wow.
00:59:59Wow.
01:00:00Wow.
01:00:01I learned.
01:00:02Yeah, I think.
01:00:03Friends and the family.
01:00:04I learned something.
01:00:05It's very good.
01:00:06It was very present there.
01:00:07We just got to get you to cut loose a little bit.
01:00:10I think the piano is forcing you to be very proper.
01:00:13Oh, you should see me with a band.
01:00:15Well, we got to get you to the band.
01:00:18That's very true.
01:00:19That's very true.
01:00:20I think that the only way she's going to actually understand this thing called roughing up is to put her in a brawl.
01:00:28The only way to put you in a brawl is to say yes so you can go to the next level and meet the rest of this crazy class and you'll understand what this means.
01:00:37Oh yeah.
01:00:38Okay?
01:00:39So it's a yes for me.
01:00:40I think your voice has definitely earned you a yes, but I want to see some fire.
01:00:47I can show it.
01:00:48I kind of believe you can.
01:00:49There's a yes.
01:00:50Hey.
01:00:51Let me see the glass.
01:00:53Boom, boom.
01:00:54Ding, ding, ding.
01:00:55Not too hard there.
01:00:56Not too hard.
01:00:57I need you to come get your golden ticket.
01:00:59Yay!
01:01:00I have an announcement.
01:01:04We're going to Hollywood.
01:01:05You're going to holiday.
01:01:07Oops.
01:01:08Uh-oh.
01:01:09You're going to Hollywood.
01:01:10You're going to Hollywood.
01:01:11You're going to Hollywood.
01:01:12Here's a joy.
01:01:16Let's get a little singer.
01:01:18I have an announcement.
01:01:19I swear.
01:01:20I swear it's true.
01:01:21I think today I played it very safe, but they will see the fire that is inside me and they will see me roar.
01:01:28I concur.
01:01:29She didn't seem villainous.
01:01:31No.
01:01:32It's so nice.
01:01:33Me too.
01:01:34Thank you for coming.
01:01:35Seriously, thank you.
01:01:36By the way, are you still dating Jared?
01:01:38Is that true?
01:01:39Is that real?
01:01:40I was always wondering.
01:01:41I was always wondering.
01:01:42Lean on the end.
01:01:43When you're not strong.
01:01:44I'll be afraid.
01:01:45I'll help you carry on.
01:01:46For it won't be long till I'm gonna need somebody to lean on.
01:01:51I just might have a problem then you understand.
01:02:12We all need somebody to lean on.
01:02:19You just call me.
01:02:22You just call me.
01:02:25Yeah.
01:02:26You just call me.
01:02:28You just call me.
01:02:33Cool.
01:02:34All right.
01:02:35Woo!
01:02:36Wow!
01:02:37Thank you so much.
01:02:38I have never seen you just jump out of that chair.
01:02:41It made me happy.
01:02:42She was like, I was like, is she gonna rush the artist?
01:02:45I think it is because, you know, you did your own thing with it.
01:02:49It sounded fresh.
01:02:50And I feel like it was such a smart song choice.
01:02:55It was just mwah.
01:02:57You know, I'm telling you, familiarity is everything.
01:03:00A big voice.
01:03:02Once you go to the kaboom, it's magnificent.
01:03:08You took that song that the world has heard a million times and you made it very authentically
01:03:14you, which that says you're an artist in your own mind, in your own right.
01:03:19I appreciate it.
01:03:20T'Nashe, I'm a yay.
01:03:23I'm a yes.
01:03:24Yay.
01:03:25Yes.
01:03:26Yes.
01:03:27Thank you so much.
01:03:28There we go.
01:03:29You need this.
01:03:31Can I come to you?
01:03:32Okay.
01:03:33Thank you so much.
01:03:34Can I shake your hands?
01:03:35Oh, please.
01:03:36It was an absolute pleasure.
01:03:37The standing ovation from Carrie Underwood was insane.
01:03:40And here he comes.
01:03:46Just call me when you need a friend.
01:03:49I'm going to Hollywood weekend.
01:03:53I'm going to Hollywood weekend.
01:03:56I appreciate you coming.
01:03:58It means a world.
01:03:59You know, I know you're going to do great.
01:04:00You got it.
01:04:01Love you, though.
01:04:02Love you.
01:04:03My name is Braden Rumfelt.
01:04:07I'm 22 years old and I'm from Murphy, North Carolina.
01:04:10You still got it.
01:04:12Ay.
01:04:13Oh, no.
01:04:16When I was young, my life revolved around baseball.
01:04:20My twin brother, Kellen, and I played sports constantly.
01:04:25Dad was dead set on us becoming college athletes.
01:04:31Unfortunately, going into high school, I was starting to have knee pain in both of my legs.
01:04:35Tell me how to be in this world.
01:04:38Then I found out that I have a congenital issue.
01:04:41My legs are naturally in the wrong position.
01:04:45Tell me how to be in this world.
01:04:47I needed surgery.
01:04:48I needed two lower leg realignments.
01:04:50Tell me how to be in this world.
01:04:51That put a stop to the dreams of becoming an athlete.
01:04:56Tell me how to be in this world.
01:04:58It was tough seeing everybody be able to get to do what I wanted to do.
01:05:02As I'm hurt, it kind of hit me like, wait, I feel better when I am singing.
01:05:10And my twin brother, Kellen, was there for me.
01:05:13He was kind of like my voice of encouragement.
01:05:18Growing up till now, I always felt that his talent is music, is singing.
01:05:24And I couldn't be more proud of Brayden because of everything that he's going through,
01:05:29where he's at now with pursuing his new dream.
01:05:31He's my hero.
01:05:34The only reason that I hadn't signed up for American Idol was because I was scared.
01:05:39This is my dream.
01:05:41I didn't know that I would get like a, you know, a chance like this.
01:05:44So this is, this is really awesome.
01:05:48What's up?
01:05:49Hey.
01:05:50Hi.
01:05:51How's it going?
01:05:52I'm really good.
01:05:53How are you?
01:05:54My name's Brayden Rumfelt.
01:05:55I'm 22 years old.
01:05:56I'm from Murphy, North Carolina.
01:05:58This is my twin, Kellen.
01:05:59Twin brother.
01:06:00Oh, yeah.
01:06:01Did y'all grow up playing music together?
01:06:02We did.
01:06:03As long as I've been sentient, I've been singing.
01:06:06Good deal.
01:06:07Good deal.
01:06:08What do you want to sing for us?
01:06:09Girl Crush by Little Big Town.
01:06:11Let's hear it.
01:06:12You ready?
01:06:13Yep.
01:06:14I'm ready to go.
01:06:15I got a girl crush.
01:06:24I hate to admit it, but I've got a hard rush.
01:06:32It's slowing down.
01:06:34Yeah, I want to taste her lips.
01:06:39Yeah, cause they taste like you.
01:06:43I want to drown myself in a bottle of her perfume.
01:06:51I want her long blonde hair.
01:06:54I want her magic hush.
01:06:58Yeah, cause maybe then you'd want me just as much.
01:07:05And I've got a girl crush.
01:07:06Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
01:07:21I want to taste her lips.
01:07:25Yeah, cause they taste like you.
01:07:29I want to drown myself in a bottle of her.
01:07:34Love her.
01:07:35Of her.
01:07:36But you might want her long blonde hair.
01:07:41I want her magic touch.
01:07:44Yeah, cause maybe then you'd want me just as much.
01:07:53And I've got a girl crush.
01:07:57Oh, and I've got a girlfriend.
01:08:11That's good.
01:08:11That's good.
01:08:13That's good.
01:08:14That's good.
01:08:14What do you think, Carrie?
01:08:16I'm happy.
01:08:16I'm happy.
01:08:17Surprising.
01:08:18I don't know what I expected to come out of your mouth, but that wasn't it and made me happy.
01:08:23I feel like you are very nervous.
01:08:27I am.
01:08:27You've got to loosen up.
01:08:28I wanted to come out there and just shake your arms and throw your vest across the room.
01:08:34I think you're a racehorse, man.
01:08:36Don't you agree?
01:08:37I agree.
01:08:38You have a top end to your voice.
01:08:42It's not as high as Steve Perry, but the texture when you get up there is so sweet, man.
01:08:49It doesn't break.
01:08:49No, it does not.
01:08:51And we can wake the outside of you up to combine it with the inside of you, what's coming out.
01:08:57We've got show business.
01:09:02Oh, he can sing, y'all.
01:09:03Oh, yeah, he can.
01:09:04Yes, he can.

01:09:37Like, are we...
01:09:38Is this real?
01:09:39You know, I almost wanted to pinch myself.
01:09:42That was nice.
01:09:43Heck yeah.
01:09:44They love it.
01:09:45Stand it.
01:09:45Stand it over.
01:09:46With the struggles that I've had over the years,
01:09:50couldn't be happier.
01:09:51He is 80% of what he could be doing.
01:09:54He's got such potential.
01:09:57You want me just as much.
01:10:01I've got a good place.
01:10:06That was crazy to see how well he did.
01:10:11We've got a lot of memories together under our belt,
01:10:13and I wouldn't be here without his help.
01:10:16And I love this guy.
01:10:18He's the best.
01:10:19You're going to make me cry, dude.
01:10:20I'm going to Hollywood week.
01:10:22He's the best.
01:10:23Yeah.
01:10:24Yeah.
01:10:25Yeah.
01:10:25Yeah.
01:10:31The old cowpoke went riding out on a dark and windy day.
01:10:37Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way,
01:10:41when all at once a mighty herd of red-eyed cows he saw
01:10:45plowing through those ragged skies,
01:10:47And up the cloudy draw
01:10:50Yippee-yi-yi
01:10:55Yippee-yi-yi
01:10:59For this ghost rider's in the sky
01:11:05Sorry, that was...
01:11:09There you go. It happens.
01:11:11You know, Matthew, I mean, right now you're just doing sing-along.
01:11:15We're talking about lead singer, center stage, crowd screaming at you.
01:11:21I'm gonna give you a passionate no because you're passionate about this business.
01:11:27I think that passion is gonna take you a long way. Don't lose that spark, man.
01:11:31It's a no today, but I'm not gonna stop working. I'm not gonna give up.
01:11:37I'm gonna make the best of this moment.
01:11:41You have been on some amazing platforms.
01:11:45You've been with national recording artists.
01:11:49But today is your day.
01:11:52Hi. Come on in.
01:11:54What's your name?
01:11:56My name is Tiana Roberts.
01:11:58What brings you to us today?
01:12:00I'm just ready to get myself out there, take the risk.
01:12:04That's just kind of been my motto for the year.
01:12:07No risk, no story.
01:12:08No risk, no story.
01:12:09What's the deal with that?
01:12:11Well, last year I had a miscarriage.
01:12:15That moment made me realize that life is short.
01:12:18And I could just think of all the things that I didn't do because I was too scared.
01:12:22I decided that the risk was worth the sacrifice.
01:12:25So, no risk, no story.
01:12:27So, here I am.
01:12:28Wow.
01:12:29I like that.
01:12:30Very good.
01:12:31Well, what are you gonna be singing for us?
01:12:33I'm gonna be singing a hymn called Pass Me Not.
01:12:35Okay.
01:12:36Okay.
01:12:37Pass me not, O gentle Savior, hear my humble cry.
01:13:06While, while on others thou art falling, Savior, do, do not pass me, me by.
01:13:29I'm crying Savior, oh Savior.
01:13:42Why don't you hear my humble cry?
01:13:52Oh, while, while on others thou art calling, Savior, do, do not pass me, me by.
01:14:09me, me by. Oh, oh, do, do not pass me by.
01:14:33Thank you. Thank you. Wow. You have an incredible voice. I feel like we've been waiting for you all day. Tell me about it. When you have a foundation and an instrument like you have, it's just a matter of what song would you like to sing. On this show, it's going to be challenging because you're going to cover everything from Disney songs all the way across to every event that ever happened in life in the music world. You can handle it with that voice any day of the week.
01:15:03I love what you did. Thank you so much. Well, great big voice. You just sang within your means. When I saw you going for the big note, I was like, uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh. She got it. All right. She saved it for the end. We love our gospel singers, but just get ready to branch out and get ready to do a lot of stuff.
01:15:22You made everything just seem very effortless. Your small notes were beautiful and clear and crisp. You kept things small, and then it grew, and by the end of it, you were just soaring. You are a really talented vocalist. Thank you. It is a massive yes for me. Yes.
01:15:41It's a yes for me. You got three yeses.
01:15:45Ah! Okay.
01:15:47Thank you. Thank you so much.
01:15:51Your girl did it.
01:15:52Woo!
01:15:58I don't even have words to describe what it felt like for them to say,
01:16:03We've been waiting for you.
01:16:05Like, what?
01:16:07Star, star, star, star, star, star right here.
01:16:09She's our winner. She will always be our winner.
01:16:14I'm proud of you. I'm so proud of you.
01:16:17Thank you, mama.
01:16:18I got my thing.
01:16:19Hey, I got it.
01:16:21You got your thing.
01:16:22You got your thing.
01:16:32Julian, do you remember this kid?
01:16:35Yes. I've thought about him a lot.
01:16:37Really, huh?
01:16:37Ah! Hey, guys.
01:16:40Hi.
01:16:41How are y'all?
01:16:42Doing great. How are you guys?
01:16:44We're so happy to see you.
01:16:46We're happy to be here.
01:16:48One, two, one, two, three, four.
01:16:54My name is Julian Kalel Almanzan.
01:16:56I'm from El Paso, Texas, and I'm 19 years old.
01:17:01Last year, I'd audition.
01:17:03I had no idea what to expect.
01:17:05Obviously, I was terrified.
01:17:07When I talk about it with my sister,
01:17:09we both say that we kind of just blacked out
01:17:11and gave a performance of our lives, I guess.
01:17:15There's a hole in my chest
01:17:20Knock me down, lay me to rest
01:17:25Drown my thoughts with kerosene
01:17:30I performed an original song called Surrender,
01:17:32which talks about the struggles of anxiety and depression.
01:17:36I felt like I was at your show just now.
01:17:47Are you serious?
01:17:48Yeah, I did.
01:17:49Wow.
01:17:49It played like a record.
01:17:51Just a star.
01:17:52He's a star.
01:17:53Just a straight up, straight up star.
01:17:57I'll be gone without a sound
01:17:59When my heart fails me and I'm not around
01:18:01Yes!
01:18:02Yes!
01:18:03Hallelujah, yes!
01:18:05Come on, man.
01:18:06Come here.
01:18:07The things that the judges told me,
01:18:09I felt like my life was changing in that moment.
01:18:12He may win this thing.
01:18:14He literally might win it.
01:18:17It was one of the greatest moments of my life.
01:18:19Oh, I surrender.
01:18:21I'm going to Hollywood!
01:18:27Unfortunately, though, I was not able to continue forward.
01:18:31There were shared concerns about my abilities
01:18:35to balance a journey like American Idol
01:18:37and my mental health.
01:18:40I caught him cold and cold
01:18:42I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression
01:18:44my freshman year of high school.
01:18:47But I had been struggling with those feelings
01:18:48for a big part of my life.
01:18:51I mean, through even elementary and middle school.
01:18:54He came up to us and said,
01:18:56I am not okay.
01:18:58There's something happening with me.
01:19:00I mean, it's a knife to your chest
01:19:02because you're thinking,
01:19:04you know, what's going on?
01:19:05What's happening?
01:19:06And he said, I'm sad all the time.
01:19:11For me, anxiety is just like
01:19:14a big wave crashing on you
01:19:16and you just drown.
01:19:20I was questioning the value of my life.
01:19:22You have to look in the mirror
01:19:26and recognize that mental health professionals
01:19:29need to get involved
01:19:30and that there's no shame in that.
01:19:39Music is my lifeline.
01:19:42It's what keeps me grounded.
01:19:43I had so much to smile about
01:19:47with my audition
01:19:47and I just knew like
01:19:49I really regret it
01:19:50if I didn't give this another shot.
01:19:52I'm just hoping that whatever I'm doing
01:19:55just reflects the message
01:19:56of just not giving up
01:19:58and most importantly
01:19:59to not be defined by your struggles
01:20:01but by your strengths.
01:20:04I choke up just thinking about it
01:20:05because I'm very lucky to be here.
01:20:08You know, life is a gift.
01:20:09For you to come back out here
01:20:13to try this
01:20:15we are very happy and proud of you.
01:20:16We are so happy to be here.
01:20:17Thank you so much.
01:20:18So, what are you going to do for us?
01:20:20The song today is called Long Guitar.
01:20:22I wrote it at a very dark time
01:20:24in my life
01:20:25where I was at a crossroads
01:20:26of deciding whether or not
01:20:27to give up or to keep going.
01:20:29Huh.
01:20:29And found that, you know,
01:20:31it's as simple as just
01:20:32stay one more day.
01:20:34That's the message.
01:20:36It's been rough.
01:20:37We've had some rough years
01:20:39and this song in particular
01:20:40it's suicide prevention, basically.
01:20:52What do you see
01:20:53when you look at me?
01:20:57The blessings that I'm letting go
01:21:00Lord, you forgive so easily
01:21:02It's getting harder to find peace
01:21:05Get the chance to grow old
01:21:10But I'm not the man that I should
01:21:12Never felt travel
01:21:15Helling by every night
01:21:17Too far gone for prayer
01:21:19Just a boy afraid to die
01:21:23Oh, heartache stare
01:21:28Words unspoken
01:21:30The burden of my flaws
01:21:32An empty chair
01:21:34A family broken
01:21:35Pain is all I cause
01:21:37I should stay
01:21:38I should stay
01:21:41You walk in daydream
01:21:44Thoughts unholy
01:21:45Damn near giving up
01:21:47Hug your mama
01:21:48Till there's just enough
01:21:50To see that old sunrise
01:21:52I should stay
01:21:58I should stay
01:22:00Oh, I'll switch phones
01:22:03And learn to love these remarks
01:22:05Along the way
01:22:06Oh, I should stay
01:22:08Lord, let me stay
01:22:11I got too much to give
01:22:14I got I love you
01:22:16So say
01:22:16Don't wanna make my old man cry
01:22:19Leave my mama screaming why
01:22:21Guess I'm in this bleeding heart
01:22:24Lighthead in my way
01:22:27To the boy alone in the suffering
01:22:31Thinking no one understands
01:22:33If it's strength that you need
01:22:36You don't have to be a man
01:22:39Awesome, thank you
01:22:46Ronald, what you think?
01:22:48Welcome back
01:22:49Welcome back
01:22:51Thank you
01:22:51I'm gonna leave you with some words
01:22:53That I keep repeating
01:22:55Over and over again
01:22:56And I'm gonna pass it on to you
01:22:57You were born enough
01:22:59I haven't seen too many years
01:23:01Come on, Julio
01:23:02Come on
01:23:03Everything about you is just honest
01:23:09And you organize your thoughts
01:23:12And your feelings into song
01:23:13In a way that comes across so real
01:23:17Thank you
01:23:18That is something that's needed
