01:00Sport fishing in El Salvador is something relatively new for the country.
01:07The fishing grounds are amazingly plentiful for both inshore and offshore.
01:12And to test it out, the Murphys are visiting for the first time and probably not the last.
01:17El Salvador is one of those underrated countries to visit.
01:22It's become the safest in Central America and one of the safest in all of Latin America.
01:27Captains Rick and Ridge are heading to Casa del Golfo in La Union Department of El Salvador.
01:35It's a long ride from the airport, but the country is investing in building infrastructure.
01:39This includes the new Pacific Airport, coming in 2027, that will cut travel time to the La Union area to a fraction.
01:48Day one, a drive through town to the marina.
01:52The area is quite rural.
01:53Sometimes you have to dodge the cattle drive, but they know the drill and get out of the way.
01:59The entire crew gets prepped by transferring gear onto a ponca, then to the relax, where they will spend the day.
02:05Fishing charters are becoming a major drill, with the Gulf of Fonseca offering excellent opportunities to reel in snapper and even larger offshore species for those willing to venture deeper into the Pacific.
