00:08There is a clear recognition of the fact that various global supply chains of pharma inputs
00:16have disrupted on account of West Asia crisis. There is an issue related to supply of solvents
00:26and active pharmaceutical ingredients. However, there is no major increase in sales prices
00:33of drugs and pharmaceuticals. In order to support pharma industry and to maintain the availability
00:41of inputs, feedstocks and also APIs, Department of Revenue through Notification dated 1 April
00:492026, has slashed custom duties of 40 various petrochemical products to zero. It should
00:59be recognized that the pharmaceutical sector has a very strong value chain linkage with
01:07the petroleum and petrochemical sector, particularly in the supply of critical feedstocks and solvents,
01:14which are used for manufacturing of drugs and syrups. In view of this interdependence,
01:21the government is working in close coordination with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas
01:27and the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, so that uninterrupted supply of essential pharma
01:33inputs is ensured. Accordingly, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has made allocation
01:41pro rata as per the availability of feedstocks, particularly propylene. And there are other two solvents,
01:49ammonia and methanol, as with the help of Department of Fertilizer. Fertilizer manufacturing units
02:00are continuously providing the necessary input of ammonia to solvent manufacturers so that further downstream
02:10products are made available. And propylene remains the most critical input because it is used for
02:18production of isopropyl alcohol and isobutyl benzene, which are used for manufacturing of medicines like
02:25ibuprofen and other necessary drugs. A significant portion of these is being supplied by
02:33Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas through BPCL Kochi and Mumbai refineries.
02:41However, methanol supply has emerged as a major area of concern. In this regard, there has been discussions
02:49with Assam Petrochemicals and GNFC, which are ready to supply the necessary quantities of methanol.
02:58So, work is underway to establish the necessary logistics and supply chains. And supply, however,
03:07in a moderate way has already commenced. The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals has also extended support
03:14by suspending the quality control order of Marfolin. And Marfolin is a very important building block used for
03:21manufacturing of various life-saving drugs. Aluminium supply required for pharmaceutical packaging had faced
03:27constraints. Restoration of supplies underway and the situation is expected to normalize within a week or so.
03:34Supplies of LPG and HSD oil is important, particularly for ampoule and vial ceilings and are under very close watch.
03:44And pharmaceutical units are currently not facing any constraint as of today. The government remains
03:51fully engaged with facilitating supplies on case-to-case basis. That means to say, if there are any concerns,
03:58we get information and request through concerned organizations and also through associations. And as and when
04:08we get requests from these associations, we facilitate the supply in our own limited manner. Thank you.
04:16Thank you. Now we take updates from the Petroleum Ministry. Over to you, Sojati.

16:06Now we will take questions.
16:07First row
16:0954, 130, 208
16:13and 46.
16:16Good afternoon.
16:17I am Rajesh Roy from Bloomberg.
16:18Sujata ma'am,
16:19any details possible
16:20on oil minister's visit to Qatar
16:23because Qatar is a big supplier of energy
16:26and Mangal sir,
16:26any details on the Indian flag
16:28vessels movement?
16:30And Randhir sir,
16:30as you know,
16:31over the weekend,
16:31Pakistan is going to hold
16:33a high-powered delegation
16:34from U.S.
16:35led by J.D. Vance
16:36and also Iran.
16:37How do you see that?
16:38How does India react to that?
16:45Hi, thanks.
16:46I'm Arjadi from PK.
16:47Partly asked by Rajesh.
16:49But again,
16:50what is on Mr. Puri's agenda
16:53for Qatar?
16:53Are we looking at
16:54resuming sourcing of LNG
16:57again from Qatar
16:58because Qatar has been
16:59the largest supplier?
17:01And one question
17:01to Mr. Satiprakash.
17:03Does the supply,
17:05the feedstock supplies,
17:07will they normalize
17:08the production
17:09of critical medicines now?
17:12There were also reports
17:12that some
17:13contraceptive production
17:15was also impacted
17:16because of the supplies.
17:17Have all those supplies
17:17been normalized now?
17:21Hi.
17:21Sukar from the Indian Express.
17:22Yes, my question is
17:23for Mangal sir
17:25and Randhi sir as well.
17:28You know,
17:29our government
17:30has maintained
17:31that there should be
17:32free passage
17:34of ships
17:37through the state
17:38of Hormuz.
17:39But now increasingly
17:40there are talks
17:41of a toll
17:42being formalized
17:43by Iran
17:44and in fact
17:46U.S. President
17:47Donald Trump
17:47also made a comment
17:49calling it
17:50a beautiful thing,
17:52you know,
17:52a big beautiful toll.
17:55Considering that
17:56our stance
17:57has always been
17:58that there should be
17:59freedom of navigation,
18:01what would be
18:02India's stand
18:03if such a system
18:04were to be formalized?
18:07Considering that
18:08there are certain
18:08examples of
18:09natural states
18:10having a toll system,
18:11for instance,
18:12the Bosphorus,
18:13the Turkish government
18:15charges a fee.
18:17So if that sort of
18:18comes into play here
18:19in the state of Hormuz,
18:21what would be
18:22our stance?
18:28Hi.
18:29Tweish from Economic Times.
18:30Thank you for letting
18:31me ask a question.
18:33So yesterday,
18:34DG Shipping
18:35late night
18:35came out
18:36with a circular
18:38regarding
18:38some more advisories
18:40telling the ports
18:41that they should also
18:41pass on the concessions
18:43as early as possible
18:44and telling the ships
18:45to make sure
18:47that they're not
18:47overcharging
18:48of saying
18:49that there's
18:50too much insurance
18:50premium being paid.
18:51Sir,
18:52can we get to know
18:52about any of the
18:53triggers that led
18:54to this
18:54more stricter
18:55advisory
18:56that was issued?
18:59Third row?
19:01Okay.
19:01We can move.
19:02Yes.
19:04Two,
19:05yes,
19:05two and two,
19:0666 and
19:0895.
19:11five.
19:11Hi.
19:12So,
19:12Ritraj here from
19:13Ment.
19:13My question is
19:14about for the
19:15Petroleum Ministry
19:15and Ministry of
19:17External Affairs.
19:18So,
19:18Bangladesh Foreign
19:19Ministry yesterday
19:20met
19:21Hardeep Singh Puri
19:22and he sought
19:24further supplies
19:25of diesel
19:26and fertilizers.
19:27Can you give
19:28details in terms
19:29of what
19:31sort of
19:32supplies
19:32our neighboring
19:33countries have
19:34sought in terms
19:34of petroleum
19:35products
19:35and have
19:36we made,
19:37have we actually
19:38sent
19:39further petroleum
19:40products
19:41amidst the
19:41past one
19:42month
19:42or
19:43what is
19:44the way
19:44forward
19:45on this?
19:48Hello sir.
19:49My name is
19:49Anubesh Rat.
19:50Hello.
19:52Hello sir.
19:53My name is
19:53Anubesh Rat.
19:54I'm from
19:54Razi Biznes.
19:55My question is
19:56Randeer Jaiswal
19:57and Mr. Mookes
19:59Mangal.
20:00First,
20:01the shipping
20:02ministry.
20:02Sir,
20:04the way
20:04the
20:04Iran
20:06has
20:06changed
20:07that we have given the alternate routes again.
20:10The minefields that we have collected.
20:12So that India got a clue.
20:14Indian flagship should go to the state of the form.
20:17Is that status changed?
20:19Is that totally blocked it?
20:23Is that Indian ship again?
20:25Is it going to come further?
20:26Is it going to further?
20:28And then, you have asked to ask,
20:30Iran has done a advisory for us.
20:33Iran has made a lot of people.
20:34If it is possible, we will move out from India or move out from India.
20:38How many Indians are in Iran or are there in the conflict zone?
20:42Are there any other plans there at this time?
21:04A political meeting that is scheduled between America and Iran.
21:08How do we see it?
21:1096 and then we can give the mic to 45 also.
21:13Neeraj, my question is,
21:42The last question, 45.
21:46Now, my question is follow-up to what Anwesha has asked.
21:50Looking at, since it is a developing situation, things like that,
21:53I am a person that is a political leader and an organization that is a political leader.
