00:00in our current medical system we see body as the primary and the mind as the secondary and this
00:03does make sense right in order to understand something better we have to separate them
00:06instead of seeing it as a unit and this approach has worked so far but i think it's high time
00:10that
00:10we tend to also understand there is a very important relationship between the mind and the
00:14body and we have to treat it as a unit rather than a separate entities so i was reading this
00:18book the
00:19myth of normal by gabor metri you know him and he talks about this idea about how and also he
00:23presents many research and stories from people and he shows the correlation between people who
00:27have had childhood or even adulthood traumas and stressors and how that directly correlates to
00:32um them having diseases down the line such as cancer or heart attack or autoimmune diseases he
00:36also points out how some doctors give anecdotal evidence that if you have certain personality
00:40traits such as repressing your anger or hyper functioning and things like that can in fact
00:43increase your risk of having these diseases such as autoimmune diseases like arthritis and
00:47multiple sclerosis or heart attack and cancer all of this it increases your chances it does not mean
00:51it automatically lead to those diseases but it can increase your risk and this does not mean that
00:55there are no genetic variations that exist or there are no other environmental factors it just means
00:59that we also have to look at all of these stressors that have been happening in your life currently
01:02and in the past when i was reading this i was thinking if this is the case why does it
01:06show up
01:06in our body why does it lead to us because if stressors and trauma is one of the reasons why
01:11we
01:11are having these diseases why does it show up in our body exactly because doesn't it make us more
01:14stressed and more devastated but when i thought about it more i realized how this viewpoint of mine also
01:19comes from the fact that i still put body as the primary factor above mind so this points out that
01:24imagine it works as a system right so your body and your mind works as a system and if you
01:29are
01:29constantly stressed if you are having chronic stress you are going to assume that that is your
01:32baseline so your mind and your the system has to show you that you cannot keep going on this way
01:37so the only way your body can show you some visible signs is through your body which means that
01:41the only way we will understand there are some things going on and i need to work it through
01:44is when it shows up in your body as inflammation as inflammation of tissues or as diseases
01:49of course again there are so many other factors that are at play here i just wanted to point out
01:53this might also substantially increase your risk and this is the reason why when we are having
01:57any sort of disease along with medications along with looking at the body aspect of things i think
02:02it's also equally important we also have to look at the mind side of things and this when we say
02:07things like you have to take care of your mind or you have to take care of yourself it's not
02:10just
02:10social media bus but i think that it is because it can have devastating effects on your body and the
02:15people you love otherwise my point being that we have to start looking at our body and our mind as
02:19together and as a unit rather than a separate entities so when we are when we are going through
02:24something we have to focus on both and we have to heal both together rather than just one
