00:02Good afternoon everybody. To answer the first question, when you look at T20 cricket now, the way that it's going,
00:10you can't really think much about wickets.
00:12If you watch even the game that is being played presently, the power play went for over 100 runs.
00:17So, again, sometimes the best form of attack is also defence.
00:21And, you know, we're not looking too much into the wicket-less native of Jasper Bruma.
00:26He's a world-class bowler. He has done it time and time again.
00:30You know, for India and also for Mumbai Indians.
00:33And, again, when the time comes to get wickets, you'll get wickets.
00:35If not, and it's economical, we'll accept, you know, that, you know, as well.
00:41As to the second question, in terms of the RACB, for me, I think this is the IPL.
00:47You know, all contests are spicy.
00:49All contests are one that you look forward to because the main thing is two points, you know, at play.
00:56So, for us, we don't look too much into the opposition.
01:00We just try to come out and play good cricket as much as possible.
01:03And hopefully, at the end, the result, you know, sort of go away.
01:15We can't live in the past.
01:16That's the thing.
01:17You know, we have to live in the present.
01:18I'm sitting here in a different capacity.
01:20So, my emotions, obviously, is going to be a lot different.
01:24But it's up to the guys now, you know, to create their own destiny and history in what they want
01:31to be seen and known as in terms of these contests.
01:34So, again, as I said, it's different.
01:37We're in a position, as you just said, coming off two losses.
01:39So, I think, more importantly, getting two points rather than thinking about emotions of the opposition that we're coming up
01:45against.
01:54It could be five tomorrow as well.
01:58That's fine.
01:59And it could be six as well.
02:21Again, as it comes to the pace and the lack thereof, if the ball is going at 100 knots
02:28out of the ground, you don't want to fight fire with fire, right?
02:31You're going to try something different.
02:32But, again, as I said, in our camp, we are not concerned, you know, about Jasper Bruma.
02:37There's no issues.
02:39Again, as I said, you guys sit and go into the intricacies of data and pace and wickets and all
02:46of that.
02:47Okay.
02:48And it could be 97.
02:49It could be 105.
02:50Come next year.
02:51It's fine.
02:52You know, on our side, it's fine.
02:53We don't look at cricket like that.
02:55And I, as an individual, never look at, you know, cricket as that.
02:59Cricket is a team sport.
03:00So, you know, for us, it's about coming together as one and, you know, trying to get the desired result
03:06at the end of the day
03:07because then I can look into all different things and, you know, create things that are not there.
03:14So, you know, for us, he's fine.
03:16He's fit.
03:17He's firing.
03:18And for your sake, I hope he gets five wickets tomorrow.
03:21And the economy is about five as well.
03:23I think that's happening.
03:24Huh?
03:25I hope we are happy.
03:26Okay.
03:27We will be happy.
03:28And as to Will Jacks, we expect him very soon.
03:32As you alluded to fitness issues, to my knowledge, I don't know anything about that.
03:37As a franchise, I said, we are a team.
03:39A team made up of over 20-odd members.
03:42And at this point in time, he's not here.
03:45Not required or whatever.
03:46But we'll be here soon.
03:48And hopefully when he's here as well, his economy will be low.
03:51He will get wickets.
03:51And he will score runs just for you.
03:54Yeah.
03:56We touched upon the way T2Ts play these days.
04:00Teams, you know, earlier it was 8-10, 12, looking at 14 now.
04:06Are you also looking to maximize the putt in the last 30 balls?
04:10Say it again, sorry.
04:11Are they looking to maximize in the last 30 balls?
04:16Well, the way I was going now, it's, I don't know, it's exciting for watchers.
04:22It's exciting cricket.
04:24But, you know, for bowlers, it's very difficult.
04:27But having said that, as you rightly said, yes, you're going hard a bit on top.
04:32And, you know, when you lose wickets, the momentum, you know, the game tend to slow down.
04:36So you don't have to sort of maximize the last five overs as you used to before.
04:40But I think the impact players had a real part to play in that, where everyone is just going from
04:47ball one.
04:48If we even look at the game, as I said last night, RCB was six wickets down.
04:53But then Venkateshaya walks in.
04:55He's a quality player.
04:56So there's no respite for bowlers or great bowling and getting wickets.
05:02So it's however we want to look at it in terms of the dynamics of the T20 game is changing.
05:08And teams are actually going hard in the power play.
05:11But we look at our previous games as well.
05:13You got 50 in a power play, but you still end up getting 250 as well.
05:16So it all depends on, you know, the type of team that you have and the pitch that you're playing
05:21on
05:22and the opposition and the bowlers and stuff like that.
05:26I don't know, a couple of questions.
05:27Firstly, Rohit Sharma journey, how do you look at it?
05:30You just completed 15 years with MI.
05:33And secondly, I'm sure you must be watching Web of Suri when she's batting in the other matches
05:37apart from the career that he caused in the match against you.
05:40Does it remind you of yourself the way he's used to batting play this thing?
05:45At 15 years, I was still at school playing club cricket.
05:49I'm not even sure if I'll have a career.
05:50But again, it's exciting.
05:52It's very exciting to see, you know, a young guy taking the will, you know, by storm.
05:57And he's using his youthful exuberance to his advantage.
06:00And long may that continue for him and, you know, for Indian cricket, you know, as well.
06:04We continue to churn out the talent.
06:06And we just need to continue to encourage him.
06:09One of the things I always say, let's not be on the bandwagon when he's here.
06:13And if you have a couple of failures and guys sort of figure him out,
06:16we then just trim on the wayside and we forget all about him.
06:19I think that's the biggest fear for me as an individual being a cricketer,
06:23that we all run with the hype and then when something happens.
06:26So, again, he's a talent.
06:28He's doing well.
06:28And long may that continue, you know, for him.
06:32As the road charmer, yes, celebrated 15 years, you know, as a Mumbai Indian, you know, player.
06:37And as we have said, you might have seen in the videos.
06:40It's a great honor and a privilege and an achievement, you know, for him or any individual
06:46to be in one franchise for 15 years.
06:48Not many people can say that.
06:50As I said, luckily enough, I can say that.
06:53But he has been a great leader for us, you know, over time.
06:56He's a great leader for Indian cricket.
06:57He has been a legend in his own right.
06:59And as I told you, long may that continue, you know, for him.
07:02And we continue to reap rewards, you know, of his success.
07:05And as I said, we are happy to have him, you know, in our dressing room.
07:11Hi.
07:12We are seeing every team go so hard, like you just said, scoring 220, 250.
07:18And one can, as you know, better than anybody else, batters try to hit as many sixes as possible.
07:23In this kind of a scenario, what kind of conversations you have with bowlers like Trent Boldt, Deepak Chahir,
07:30and Shadul Thakur, because Bumrah is the only one who is not leaking as many runs.
07:35So even though they are experienced, if they are leaking runs,
07:37what kind of roles do you give them in this kind of a situation?
07:41So now you're giving me the bowling coach's job now?
07:44You also used to bowl, you're not just...
07:47Yeah, yeah, no, no.
07:49All jokes aside, you know, the experience you have garnered over time,
07:53you tend to, you know, participate in all discussions and conversations.
07:57And it's difficult for the guys, you know.
08:00We just try to continue to encourage them.
08:02We try to work as hard as possible on execution and understanding how we can,
08:07when the batsmen come and get them out firstly, and if not, try to restrict them.
08:11When you're on the field, it all boils down to mindset and execution.
08:15So the most you can do is sort of practice and have those sort of conversations,
08:19you know, practice the skill, but is bat versus ball on the day and who cracks first.
08:25So, you know, for us, we're going to hold strong, you know, as a bowling unit.
08:30And when you look at it, in any given day, a couple guys are going to go in T20 cricket.
08:35But hopefully, at the end, you can average it out and stay within that, you know.
08:39So, you know, we learn both of those that are specialists.
08:40So, thank you for your time.
08:45You
