43:49it here's the short version my parents were both junior hockey coaches and they were hit by a drunk
43:58driver when i was 12 years old mercifully for them they died instantly mercifully for me
44:07the saint thomas scholarships existed
44:11i didn't have anybody else to help me
44:16i had a lot of memories a love of hockey and a huge hole in my heart
44:22saint thomas filled it with hope the hope of a new family things things weren't always easy
44:30you know they never are for anybody but in hockey i found what i was missing
44:37first at my high school then later at college and now here with the admirals and i never looked back
44:45because i never had to
44:49the family i craved the family that i needed that that i still need today
44:56hockey gave it to me and saint thomas gave me hockey
45:02so from the bottom of my heart i want to thank you all for being here tonight
45:07and for supporting this cause because it's not just a scholarship it's
