00:13It is a matter of life and death, government operations.
00:19And wasting energy on distractions is the last thing that state government should be doing.
00:28And I cannot be the cause of that.
00:32New York tough means New York loving.
00:37And I love New York.
00:40And I love you.
00:42And everything I have ever done has been motivated by that love.
00:48And I would never want to be unhelpful in any way.
00:53And I think that given the circumstances, the best way I can help now is if I step aside and
01:02let government get back to governing.
01:05And therefore, that's what I'll do.
01:08Because I work for you.
01:11And doing the right thing is doing the right thing for you.
01:17Because as we say, it's not about me.
01:20It's about we.
01:23Kathy Hochul, my lieutenant governor, is smart and competent.
01:28This transition must be seamless.
01:31We have a lot going on.
01:33I'm very worried about the Delta variant.
01:36And so should you be.
01:38But she can come up to speed quickly.
01:40And my resignation will be effective in 14 days.
