00:00Welcome back to Hot Rod Garage. I'm Lucky Costa, and next to me is my good friend, Alex Taylor.
00:11Hello.
00:11Hello. How was your flight?
00:13It could have been better, but it could also have been worse, and we're here.
00:17Well, we are here. And where is here, exactly? We're at my shop because we're still in between shops right now.
00:23I thought you were going to say we're in another galaxy, but...
00:25We are actually in another galaxy.
00:28We actually have a galaxy. But yes, we are at your shop with your galaxy.
00:32This is a 1963 Ford Wagon Country sedan. We go way back.
00:37Yeah, like to last season.
00:38Yeah, and then I go way... This thing scarred me when I was like 15 or 17 or, I don't know, way back when I was riding BMX bikes.
00:46Back in the day.
00:47Back in the day.
00:48Black and white TV, guys.
00:49Yeah, and then this is actually how I found black and white TV. What are you trying to say?
00:54I'm just kidding.
00:55Wow.
00:56But this beast behind us, we want to make it into a functional cruiser that we can take to cars and coffee, and then Lucky can actually take out and enjoy it.
01:04Because if you guys remember, last year, we kept hearing the story that Lucky kept telling about this wagon that scarred him from a very young age and made him fall into what he loves now.
01:15Exactly, which is cool cars you would not expect to be performance vehicles, station wagons, pickup trucks, and stuff like that.
01:23But, yeah, it was a cool story.
01:25I saw a car go by, and I was like, is that a station wagon?
01:27Yeah, so...
01:28Yeah, it was.
01:29So we surprised Lucky got him his, not quite dream car, but the car that started it for him.
01:36So we got it, brought it in the shop, and the worst part about it was there was a ton of trash in it, all kinds of...
01:41Got some surfboards.
01:43Surfboards.
01:43There wasn't a lot of go to it, but it had the good bones.
01:46My options were coilover for handling or bagging for cruising, and I chose bagging.
01:50So it's RideTech front to back, four link in the rear, bags in the front.
01:55There's a little budget controller.
01:57It's honestly a couple of faucet knobs that you open and close and make it go up and down right now, and a notch engine tank in the back.
02:02Well, he wanted it to look cool, but last year it definitely didn't have all of the go forward and backwards that it needed.
02:09We got it going up and down with its RideTech suspension.
02:12However, we didn't have the engine and transmission to get it to go the other directions we needed.
02:16We didn't have the equipment to make it up a simple hill.
02:18We didn't. The hill got us before we got the hill.
02:20We had to back out of that deal.
02:21It was rough.
02:22But anyway, so now we have a new engine to swap into it, and we're not going LS swap.
02:28We're going...
02:29We're going full Coyote swap, 5 liter, with a Gearstar 6R80 transmission and a Yanks billet torque converter.
02:36So now we'll have the ability to go forward, backwards, up and down, and drive it to cars and coffee, cruise it, have a good time, and try not to get in trouble, right?
02:43Well, it's still going to smoke.
02:45It's just going to be a different kind of smoke.
02:47Tires, not engines.
02:48Okay, so where do you want to get started?
02:50Well, I think we have a lot of engine and a little space, it looks like.
02:53Eh, we have a lot of space.
02:55A lot of space.
02:57We probably ought to start by taking some measurements, pulling some stuff off, and figuring out how we're going to fit this new engine in.
03:02Right, and by stuff, I believe you mean the entire front clip, which is just going to be maybe six or eight rusty bolts, so probably half out as it is.
03:10And then we'll drain out all the fluids.
03:13The thing will be up on the lift.
03:14We'll start working on getting the motor and transmission out, and we'll measure for this and for this.
03:20You made that sound really simple.
03:23Okay.
03:24Rusty bolt time.
03:25Okay, so I'm not going to lie.
03:29This is pretty exciting for me.
03:30We've been talking about doing this for a long time, and it's happening.
03:35It's happening right now.
03:36All right, once you get something crazy, look at the offset control arm bushing.
03:41Uh-huh.
03:42See how it's like a little crank shaft?
03:43Yeah.
03:44You loosen this and crank it, and that adjusts the caster.
03:48Oh.
03:48Is that weird?
03:49It's pretty interesting.
03:50Yeah.
03:50I do see that the course board is only being held on by one bolt in the middle.
03:54Like, that's like a tri-five.
03:56Along with the bumper brackets, that one bolt, the two lower fender bolts, and the hood hinges actually hold the top of the fender on.
04:05Huh.
04:05I think if we take those things out, we could potentially just muscle this whole front clip out of the way.
04:16So here's your standard bumper bolt.
04:18You've usually got four or six or eight of these holding the front bumper on any rusty bucket that you've got.
04:23However, if you have a high-tech, technology-packed, galaxy-flying bucket like this, you have a cam-eccentric header bolt.
04:35That's crazy.
04:36So the bolt is built off-center, and there's a little pond right there, a little cam.
04:42When you put it in there and tighten it all up, it lifts and lowers the bumper.
04:46However, I'm not losing these.
04:49They're going back in.
04:51Let's take this bumper off.
04:54So we lift it and push it back like that right there.
04:57Now, my bolt just fell out.
04:59Okay.
05:00Here, hold this side now.
05:01I got this side.
05:02You got it?
05:03Yeah, girl.
05:04Oh, girl.
05:05You hear that sound?
05:08Yeah.
05:09Sound of freedom.
05:10Coming down.
05:13This side's really light.
05:14Oh, wait.
05:15There's a Mark King.
05:16Yeah, a Mark King.
05:17We're going to go back that way.
05:35Of course we are.
05:36Okay, hold on.
05:37We're going to go this way over here.
05:39Now, go back over there.
05:41You suck.
05:42You're gone.
05:43Watch out.
05:44Hold on.
05:46Now, we're going to go that way over there.
05:49All right.
05:49Stop.
05:50Turn it down.
05:51Yeah.
06:12Thanks for the Lord.
06:19Jack can come out maybe now.
06:28Okay, Alex Taylor, I believe this is excessive for an oil change.
06:31Are you sure this is how we do it?
06:33Well, it's absolutely not.
06:35You remember that conversation where I said, hey, do you want to drain the transmission?
06:38And you said, no.
06:39Oh, no, if we do it right with a plug and we put it in the end of the transmission, we
06:43won't make a leak.
06:45My bad.
06:46There's another hole there.
06:47Yeah.
06:47So, out with the old.
06:50This thing is used up.
06:52Not even just old.
06:54It's old and broken.
06:56So, don't know what's actually wrong internally, but it had no power.
07:01Seemed like it was a couple cylinders down last time.
07:03So, we can't get much worse, but we can get it quite a bit better.
07:08Yes.
07:08I actually think it's better right now.
07:10You're right.
07:10It is.
07:11It is.
07:12So, we're going to clean up this engine bay, and then we get to put in the new, or start
07:16to put in, start to fit the new engine.
07:20It's pretty good.
07:21Is that pretty good?
07:22We're done here.
07:23All right.
07:23Cool.
07:24Cool.
07:24Cool.
07:24Cool.
07:24Cool.
07:25Cool.
07:25Cool.
07:25Cool.
07:26Cool.
07:26Cool.
07:26Cool.
07:26Cool.
07:26Cool.
07:27Cool.
07:27Cool.
07:27Cool.
07:28Cool.
07:29Cool.
07:30Cool.
07:31Cool.
07:32Cool.
07:33Cool.
07:34Cool.
07:35Cool.
07:36Cool.
07:37Cool.
07:53Cool.
07:53Nice.
07:53Cool.
07:53Nice.
07:54Cool.
07:54Cool.
07:54Nice.
07:54Can I pat that down?
07:55Cool.
07:55You may.
07:57However, it is a coyote.
07:58You should be careful.
08:00Woo!
08:00really good at that yeah i don't know if that's a good skill to have i don't either
08:06anyways so new engine coyote engine correct uh 2015 so second gen good motor uh only weak link
08:14is the oil pump which we have the new billet cool one rad okay yeah and 44 000 miles so a
08:21mileage motor okay plug and play uh everything from ford including the gas pedal wiring harness
08:27uh cold air intake map sensor master everything all included nice very very cost effective too
08:33okay so however now mustangs are a rear sump motor so uh the sump would be the deepest part of the
08:39oil pan where the oil pickup is it's in the rear because the mustangs newer mustangs have rack and
08:44pinion in the front um in 1963 back in the day they did rear steer with a steering gearbox right by the
08:51firewall luckily moroso makes an aftermarket oil pan with the sump in the front for the steering
08:58in the rear yes guess what we have new in the box oil pan oil pan yeah so we're gonna swap that out
09:05and then we're going to uh fit some universal motor mounts and set this thing in there yeah i'm proud
09:11of you you did some homework i did do some you are ruining me you are ruining me i'm unhappy about it
09:17all right ready to do some stuff yeah all right
09:21we're waiting for a couple of parts specifically a special pickup
09:36so we're just going to set this on right now so we can progress
09:40and uh start making this mounts i'm not twerking this down
09:46it's a half a hug okay okay down willis
09:55okay hang on yeah that's the tight fit so we set the coyote motor in and just got it kind of close
10:07i knew we were going to be trimming the top of the upper control arm perches and a little bit
10:12more clearance in the back right there give me a little bit of an air gap between
10:15the upper control arm perches and the headers and then uh set it back in again see how it goes
10:20let me look yeah just a little bit too far back
10:31that is a lot closer
10:40okay so after doing a little bit of trimming some grinding yes a little burning the coyote motor is
10:47actually levitating it's float hey it's the coyote float hey we have that pretty much set in place
10:56it looks pretty good that means we are making good progress yeah this is uh more than we expected
11:03to get done today yeah do you want to let that go this is a false sense of security right now
11:09yeah it's okay the headers will catch it on the way now we're going full floaty mode
11:13and this is not even doing anything it's just there for looks
11:18floaty so with the coyote doing the floaty that just never gets old in my opinion i like it i do
11:25uh we're going to get those motor mounts fabbed up um it's a really sweet little universal kit
11:30very nice and then we're going to take the motor and the transmission
11:33bolted together and get a running start at installing it directly into the floor we're going
11:38to be a little more careful than that all right it's finally time for motor mounts i say finally
11:43because we've done a lot of measuring but again the prep cork is the hardest part most time consuming
11:49so as far as motor mounts go this is actually a universal kit that's specific for the engine but
11:55universal to the car so paul horton's well together series series uh the mount is actually already on the
12:01block and uh in the car so we've been using that to kind of get an idea of how we're going to place
12:06it and an idea of where our mounts go these tabs here is the part that's universal so what we've
12:12decided to do is we're going to take a plate and weld it to the frame as an extra set of reinforcement
12:18or an extra step to reinforcing it and then we're going to weld these to that and they'll bolt up so
12:24you'll see how that'll work but something cool about this kit is they actually provide a laser cut
12:30cardboard so that way you've got these already in a pattern you don't have to cut them out
12:36nice little pop out pieces here so we are going to use these to get an idea of how we want to trim
12:43them to fit the frame and then once we get that we'll go ahead and cut these out cut our other piece
12:48of metal weld it together pack it in the car yank the motor back out weld it in finally and then the
12:54engine will be done pretty simple right okay so alex has done the measurements she marked everything
13:01she wrote it in very simple letters however all caps seems a little rude to me either way i'm going to cut
13:09them up ow ow ow ow wow look at that it's like somebody knew what they were doing
13:26the engine's going in not for the final time i'm pretty sure this is not the way it goes
13:51well it's not there yet not for the final time for another trial fit time
13:56hang on and over here
14:03okay motors in motor mounts everything lines up bolted right up life is good yeah it did go in
14:16it really wasn't bad uh and it actually is sitting with our calibrated blocks sitting at the angle
14:23that we would like exactly three degrees and now we have to mark where it's going to be cut
14:28to do our incision yeah because the reason that has to be cut is the transmission um tunnel in this
14:36is not at all big enough for the transmission that's going in this car came with a slush box three
14:42speed yeah little guy yeah this is this is a 6r80 it does have a billet converter inks converter in it
14:50six speed automatic transmission six speed automatic exactly non-manual transmission is 27 inches long
14:56there is four inches between the engine and the firewall and then from the firewall to the seat
15:02there's 26 inches so that's 30 uh we only need 26 27 for this so basically long story short we're not
15:10going to take the seat out right now i'm just going to cut a hole that'll get us an idea the
15:15downside is the only good metal inside this car with no rust is the tunnel that we're getting ready
15:21to cut out of it that sucks all right see what i did there you made a hole i believe that's about
15:33the minimal amount i'll have to cut out i'm going to be lightening it up a little bit i kind of want
15:39to see i want to see if you put it in tomorrow like we'll put it in all right just to sit it's
15:44toupee back on it and see just to see if we even need to cut it out at all yeah it'd be kind of funny
15:49for who me okay well that's important so um we have a few parts to throw at it we have a
15:58engine spacer transmission spacer uh flex plate yep starter motor because might as well put it in
16:05now and we'll be able to get to it later safe space yeah time and um a couple of other small
16:09parts we can put the accessory drive back on that sounds like fun and that's a good time i don't
16:13care i don't care who you are and then we'll put the transmission on it and we'll stuff this thing in
16:17that that actually sounds pretty simple party
16:19all right so flex plate is on like you just torqued it down um these are torque to yield
16:38bolts so instead of just getting a foot pound number an inch pound or a number that's just
16:42specific into the point means that you go to a foot pound and then go to degrees after that so
16:47the theory is you're stretching that bolt uh so put simply goes to the foot pound of 25 foot
16:53pounds and then he has a really nice digital torque wrench which also reads degrees went to 60 degrees
16:58after that which is 81 foot pounds yeah and if you google it says 70 to 80 but we made sure we did it
17:05the right way exactly how forward built it to go okay is it time for
17:12a ceremony i'm gonna lightly let it down okay ready stop
17:20go down just about a little bit half a smidge a little more
17:26that was it
17:32watch your hooves i'm watching god don't hit those motor mounts
17:47drop it let it down easy
17:50okay oh something's hitting somewhere i just heard it i don't think i cut high enough on the
18:06firewall
18:06whoa calm down
18:17simmer down now simmer down
18:19okay this is ready to drop in over here
18:25up in the back
18:26you mean like that
18:29did it just go in
18:33yes it did that's a weird sound
18:36okay so the motor is in is the motor in it is well my side's in uh motor mounts are hooked up well
18:42most motor mounts are in the right place her bolt went right in um this side is resting
18:47safe and then we have no transmission cross member however we do have a marking do we not
18:53okay so with mark securing the transmission on the inside can you check again mark
18:57yeah it seems pretty secure hold on uh we're gonna let the motor down
19:02should get much heavier get this out of the way put the car up
19:05without mark with mark in it oh we're gonna leave it
19:08yeah yeah and then we'll do a quick little temporary trans mount to hold it in place
19:12that makes perfect sense right
19:14total
19:15motors in yes it is how cool is that uh pretty rad considering it actually fits
19:21since the coyote is so wide fyi it's using up all the engine bay
19:26all every bit of it yep yep transmission is actually secured in the vehicle with a cross
19:31member ready to go of custom fabrication i might add yes very nice very nice piece
19:35yeah so engine transmission that's two of the really big components and however we have some
19:40other stuff to connect to make all of that work yes we have to plug up some holes for example it
19:44won't hold any coolant that is a fact there's not a single hose on the thing and there is no
19:48cooling system it won't hold any gas do you know why uh because there's no fuel system there's
19:52not a single hose on it and there's no gas tank you guys remember that one time we put a boat tank
19:56in the back remember that time it's still back there as a matter of fact yeah um it won't hold
20:00any transmission flow do you know why there are no lines there's no cooler and it's just a
20:04transmission so basically we've installed two things and we have approximately 15 left
20:09yeah kind of hurts when you say it like that there's a minor interference with the drive shaft
20:15yeah looks like it goes through like the middle of the seat yeah so while lucky puts in a fuel system
20:21and he has some tricks he wants to do there i'm going to take more stuff off so that way we can
20:27take seats out and then cut the floor up so you assemble all disassemble then we'll get ready to
20:31totally reassemble everything you're going to cut stuff up oh i'm going to cut stuff up helps the
20:3560 foot time yeah fire gas it all goes together yeah well right well too much too much oh wait
20:44oh no we have to hook it up we like ready yeah
20:50okay so there are a couple of things going on in the back of this wagon one of them is tetanus so i got
20:58a little blanket the other thing is a hidden stash spot where we're going to be stashing that gas tank
21:03that's a universal sort of mustang gas tank it's floor mounted style i want to keep it inside
21:10yes sirree bob
21:21what occurred to me just now is you can spend some time trying to save a little bit of metal
21:30or you can just go ahead and cut it out guess what i'm going to do right now cut it out
21:38so like the final product on this is going to be a piece of one inch square tube welded together
21:49in a square all the way around welded to the floor sealed and then this will sit right on it with some
21:54nuts and hold it in place but for now let's just make sure it all fits
21:58all right i don't care who you are i feel pretty good about that
22:07all right so uh we have no front seat now we're gonna have to do a little modification because i
22:14did have to cut one of the studs maybe i didn't have to but i did and uh so the seat will have to
22:20work on getting it back in we do have floor pans now from the last time that i was in this car
22:24well floor pans it looks like floor pans but you can see that the transmission has clearly decided
22:30it wants to ride in the car with us so um right here is where a drive shaft will mount in the front
22:38front yoke and you can see that that is right in line with this transmission tunnel therefore that is
22:43why we have to cut the tunnel i'm gonna go bow right in front of the front seat with the cut
22:48and uh see if we can save the rest of it and if not we'll take the back seat out and cut some more
22:53but for now i'm gonna move this stuff out of the way and get ready to make a very surgical incision
23:01all right so there's yet another hole in our already very holy floor so um right now it's
23:15just a very rough cut and it's nothing crazy eventually when lucky replaces these floors and
23:21actually you know does a nice job on the interior uh he's going to build a really nice tunnel for now
23:26we're going to do something where we'll grind this down get it nice flat smooth and straight
23:30and then once we figure out how much tunnel we need to have with our drive shaft just build like
23:35something very simple to cover it up because this is temporary in the long term of this project but
23:41for now we have a hole get our drive shaft back very soon they measured for it today
23:46um and then we'll get it in the car and be one step closer to having everything connected
23:52okay so our guys at drive lines inc came in yesterday measured for the drive shaft
24:00compensated for right height matched the yolks and built a slip collar for it
24:05and delivered it back today so the drive shaft is going in and of course they supplied all new u-joints
24:13hardware so that's cool
24:15okay so this is my uh quick and dirty universal transmount to coyote swap a 63 galaxy station wagon
24:36um the deal is i made these sort of telescopic so this will fit in the middle you're going to see
24:42in just a second i'm going to cut one side over about two inches and go down drill a hole through
24:48there drill a hole through there if i need to remove it i can just simply take out a bolt it's
24:52telescopic it will slide and drop right out while these two pieces are getting welded in permanently
24:56so while lucky works on the actual cross member part for the transmission i'm working on the mount
25:04that's going to bolt onto the back of the transmission so uh this is not what the pattern
25:08is going to look like it's just a start so basically it'll bolt to the back with three pieces and then
25:13there'll be a piece that folds under like this where a gm style transmission mount will bolt to and
25:19it'll bolt on top of lucky's cross member so um i'm just working on this piece going to get a pattern
25:25then i'll cut it out of this plate lull it together and then about that time lucky should
25:29have the cross member ready okay i think that looks pretty good i think we did a fine job that
25:36is a work work of art right there i don't know if i'd go that far but it looks decent it's abstract
25:43okay okay all right so um that means everything under here is well most of the stuff under here is
25:49buttoned up uh-huh so the motor is attached to the car it is no fear involved correct
25:54transmission is levitating via a mount ah drive shaft is installed correct attached to the rear
26:00differential i think we're pretty done underneath there the floor is a story of its own um i don't
26:06think that's going to be fixed this time though very yabba dabba do it is uh so with that said
26:11we are getting pretty close to dropping it down putting some fluids in it and seeing uh this coyote
26:18howl uh put the beak on it maybe throw some fluids at like you said a little bit of wiring right
26:23some voltage yep sorry neighbors it's fire up time almost very close very close okay bye-bye
26:31okay so it's on the ground it is it's standing on its own two feet right four feet right now it is
26:47okay so we have a couple things still to add to the front as you can see there is no beak
26:50that part is important right um so we have to put the beak on with the beak we can uh then install
26:56the cooling system radiator correct start fitting the hoses correct fuel line we need to put a
27:00regulator over there fuel pressure regulator we happen to have one from the nova left over from
27:04the nova with a lovely gauge yes just the way i like battery cable it seems like a lot of work for a
27:08spot to put a battery but since there is a spot to put a battery actually there's barely a spot to put
27:13the battery barely yeah we'll put the battery in build a battery cable run some voltage inside the
27:17car i think we're getting really close yep trans cooler and we're almost there that crow even agrees
27:22with us yeah he says get the beak on exactly get the beak on yeah all right careful with that alex
27:30careful easy careful now you know what i think it's worth more now oh yeah more patina you're right
27:40okay so i took it forward and i was putting my hand here in like the middle of the i got you i got
27:45one of those cars with the removal of one of these oh you've been down that you've been down the bed
27:49ready i go over the tire there it is that was it the beak is on beak is on we kind of have a holding
28:07place for battery radiator everything like that but it looks really good right you want to grab the
28:13radiator and set it right there between that little bracket and i'll grab the battery and set it over
28:16there and then we'll start figuring out where hoses and hoses and cables okay oh my hoses and cables
28:22and something oh my
28:23it doesn't very sharp right in that little
28:33like it was built for it okay yeah it kind of works so now that the motor's in the wagon i'm using
28:41castro edge full synthetic to maximize the performance of this high output engine trying to get every
28:46ounce of power out of this thing as i can
28:48august napa valley before the rains
28:55castro edge will keep this thing going 20 000 miles between oil changes
29:02last twice as long as a leading full synthetic and is three times stronger
29:06all right so since this is lucky's personal car now at this point uh he has the benefit of having
29:17it in his shop and with that we also benefit because he's doing some work in the evenings
29:21uh since he gets to be around it a little bit more one of those things that he did the other night
29:25while we were away was run new fuel lines so these are from the back tied up nicely to the frame all the
29:31way to the front all it needs up there is a regulator mounted and a couple more lines connected
29:35i'm going to go ahead and put the fittings on here and connect them to the tank if you look you can see
29:41that the tank isn't actually mounted yet it will be before we take it out and drive it lucky's got a
29:46frame that he wants to build out a one inch tubing that's going to elevate the tank just a little
29:50secure it down and then allow him to have something that he can build some patch panels too so
29:55i'm going to get this done we're just trying to get it running for right now and then he'll have
30:01a couple more nights with it that he's going to spend and uh it'll have it in pretty good shape by then
30:06okay motor transmission and fuel system is actually in the line to run the fuel pressure
30:31regulator's hooked up all the wiring is pulled over to the driver's side right at the ignition
30:36switch i've got a little harness right here it's all part of that ford performance kit
30:39i apply voltage to the green wire and you can hear the fuel pump actually come on
30:44ready to start up i'm going to run a couple small wires down to the starting motor as soon as we do
30:51that this thing is making noise i'm ready
30:55okay i think i think i got everything done inside the car how are you doing out there
31:03well it's done ish is that a stealth cold air intake right there it's something you can hardly even see
31:09it so you guys know the deal this is lucky's car the only thing we had to get to today was getting
31:15it started and then you got a lot of work yeah you know what i'm fine with that though it'll be good
31:21that way you can take your time and do stuff the way you want it right yeah yeah it's not gonna look
31:25nothing like this yeah so the thing is uh stuff is kind of just plugged semi-plugged it's gonna get
31:31it started we're gonna get an idea of how the kai-hoo right kai-hoo sounds you're pronouncing it all
31:35wrong it's that we're gonna get an idea of how it sounds and then um this is one of those that since
31:42it is a personal project like he has a couple ideas on stuff that he would like done right and so
31:48he's gonna have a couple days to do that a couple days sweet so uh starter yeah let's crank it over
31:54and uh get some gas circulating through it we already checked for leaks that's good check for
31:59leaks let's not put the cover on so if it's leaking we're not gonna see it all right okay i have my
32:04power probe down here and i'm able to apply voltage to the starter motor via the green wire that i ran i ran
32:10please do that sir uh eon i'm waiting for that howl you hear the fuel pump yeah i heard it
32:16uh-huh technically that's pretty cool we're gonna make it do more though but i'm just saying
32:29that's pretty neat if i catch on fire put me out oh really no promises
32:35hang on hang on you see fire no go ahead
32:44that is not howling yet
32:52you know sounds like half them cylinders aren't hidden you know it's uh it's growling it's not
33:16howling but it is growling okay so that wasn't super amazing but it was still amazing we put it in
33:21we turn the key it started up what key well i twisted the wires together then i hit the
33:27starter with the test light we were in different rooms it's the same thing i was in this room you
33:31were out here exactly i heard some stuff i don't know that you heard you step on the gas pedal the
33:35throttle body moves the battery is still charged fuel pump is fueling right fired up full confidence
33:43that the coyote is going to be amazing when it's done is it amazing at this moment
33:48is that a cat because this is a coyote
33:52it's a wounded coyote
33:54now it's a monkey great
33:58anyways so um next time you guys see this it's gonna be running driving with a transmission tunnel
34:06a seat in it i don't know if it'll have a hood on it that's not so lucky because i'm gonna have to
34:10leave you it's gonna be hopped up and slammed down you heard it here first so stay tuned because we
34:15got driving cars and coffee and some ruckus to cause right uh cars and coffee with the donut
34:20places yes color me in okay have fun okay bye-bye good luck red eye red eye okay bye-bye
34:27okay so while i was supposed to be running fuel lines and doing some wiring and i don't know
34:35stuff with the coyote and the gear star transmission ride tech hooked me up with an amazing hookup it's the
34:41full air pod air ride control we had done the ride tech four link conversion in the back and bag this
34:48thing all the way around i had these old antiquated like look like volume knobs or the faucet knobs
34:53that make it go up and down but now it's a whole new game people
34:58i'm just gonna say right now we are cruising i'm good to go
35:24what a lovely day to go for a test man this is a wonderful day we did put in a fair amount of work
35:47on this vehicle it got clean the only thing i don't think we did was oil the windshield wipers
35:53i think the last time we were with the car together yeah it wasn't quite running you're
36:00correct it was running adjacent close to running it was a hurt coyote yeah so since then we've done
36:06the complete ford performance wiring harness engine management and a ford performance wiring harness for
36:11the engine the actual engine harness that was the that was the culprit last time was the uh engine
36:17harness who would have figured there's a specific engine harness so the wonderful tech tip there um
36:24do your research noted okay no that means there was a lot i mean when i left there were pieces over
36:30here and over there and it had that oh that's a hurt coyote that was a hurt coyote yeah okay yeah i got
36:38that so nice work it's got a transmission tunnel now it does have a trans tunnel in addition to the
36:43trans tunnel i cut the whole drive shaft tunnel out you can tell all the way to the back
36:48and uh put a ton actually i cut all that out before we had to do that just to get the stuff in
36:52but yeah i bent up some metal i literally took piece of steel and wrapped it around a welding tank
36:59if somebody would have driven by and seen me pounding on the side of a welding tank with a
37:02rubber mountain yeah you know the thing is i thought we would do like a nice test drive
37:08before but i mean we're just going at it rain and all right and all weather yeah no local we're
37:14not keeping this local yeah we're going way down south all the way to cars and coffee i heard it's a
37:21super car cars and coffee well clearly i mean i think this is a super car yeah yeah
37:27i can say this has come a long way from when it first rolled in the shop last time last year it
37:32and i rolled barely rolled i mean they had like three flats yes and they were like 18s 19s and 22s yeah
37:41and had not enough power to make it up a hill correct yeah and then uh yeah exactly we didn't
37:47we didn't have the equipment to make it up a hill yeah and i think uh it was smoking quite a bit so i
37:53took the valve seals off that motor put new valve seals on it and it actually smoked more i don't
38:01know what that was all about oh diamond we need a diamond in the carpool oh yeah i mean we are very
38:10it's nicer over here i like it it feels like we have status or elite right now
38:19what a smooth cruiser yes it is i can ruin that it's just a push of a button
38:23my bed
38:37my bed
38:51south oc cars and coffee we are here we are at a nice outlet with a whole lot of nice cars
39:10surrounding us uh i can say we're surrounded by supercars currently but this is a super car yeah i
39:15was about to say i mean uh really great show from the looks of it because there's so many people
39:20so we're gonna get the cruise around check that out get some coffee check out some cars right so
39:25uh supercars everywhere there's a silver one there's an orange one there's a yellow one there's a
39:32non-supercars over there volkswagen van that's the car there's a dog corgi and a lambo oh my gosh
39:39winner hang on i need a picture of that i know you do oh yeah yeah that's the one wow this is a
39:47lot going on here yeah there is hey hey do you want to take a look at real quick one of these cars
39:53behind us is our budget for the show for like five years i think the headlights off of one of these
39:58cars is the budget for the last three builds hey i think i remember these cars uh yeah so that one's
40:02from speedwell when we did the speedwell rally last year this is the next episode sorry i like mine
40:08like on the ground dragon you know nice okay we have corvette alley hey look a blue one and a
40:15gray one and a purple one and a black one you know i can say they do have a collection of a very wide
40:23group of cars check this out some home-built coolness right here
40:27okay that's a full-on nascar with a nice body on it i like this heck yeah i would drive that in a
40:34minute okay all the way up until the officer told me i couldn't can you believe how far this thing has
40:47come since it was rusting in some field in north carolina i remember rolling in you thinking i was
40:52parking my forklift and honking a clown horn and here we are clown horn yeah i had a weep beep beep
40:58i recall that yeah that was so long ago yeah and now we cruise down here under our own power
41:04up and down in suspension with uh coyote howling yeah absolutely i have a question this is your car
41:12how do you feel about it um i feel good about it i really truly expected more than that but i think
41:20i he airdropped some thoughts into my head and he's very excited very happy and this is his dream
41:26come true that's the stuff i say all the time that's what it was absolutely i heard it it went
41:30from rusting in a field in north carolina to rusting in a parking lot in beautiful san comente california
41:34talk about giving it a new lease on life absolutely all right um so you did a good job finishing it up
41:39we have a couple friends to thank first of all thank you to south oc cars and coffee for letting us come
41:44and park this in the middle of all of that and we're trying to get this done quick because of all of
41:50that it's starting to sprinkle yeah big thanks to gear star for actually making this happen i mean
41:55as always we did not put the stock transmission in we got some gear star goodness absolutely also
42:00there's some up and down involved here right tech they got some suspension last year with bags and
42:05then completed it this year with a nice system bluetooth controlled complete airbag system
42:11plug and play works great bad move for lucky though because he's sitting here just up and down on his
42:16phone it's like a full-scale video game anyone else i think maybe we should thank the san clemente
42:21police department for not stopping us i think you're right i'd like to say that's a wrap on this
42:27because if not we're gonna get the rain on us yes do you have social media i do have social media thank
42:31you so much for asking i am mobile tech lucky on everything oh really well i am alex taylor racing
42:36and we are hot rod garage show if you want to see more
