00:00But we were talking about the West here, SBJ,
00:02and the number one seed now officially clinched for the Oklahoma City,
00:06who won the championship last year, betting favorites to win it again this year.
00:10Obviously, they've got the reigning MVP,
00:12who is the favorite to win again this season in SGA,
00:17Jay Gildress Alexander.
00:19Too many initials, too many acronyms floating around here.
00:22But you're not as high on this team as you are perhaps a couple others
00:27in the Western Conference.
00:28So, rationalize it for me.
00:30Why is that?
00:32I mean, it might be an unpopular opinion,
00:34and I know that the Thunder have become the darling of the NBA,
00:37creating that D-word, the dynasty possibly that's growing in Oklahoma City.
00:41And I get it.
00:42I mean, they've been one of the best defensive teams in the entire NBA
00:45over the last two seasons.
00:46They obviously have the MVP last year
00:48and looking like it's going to be the MVP once again this year.
00:51But to me, I just think that what the Spurs bring to the table
00:55and with how hot the Nuggets have been over the last 10 games,
00:58it's really hard to ignore both of these teams
01:00with two also MVP candidate players in Victor Wimbanyama and Nikoli Jokic.
01:05So, I lean a little bit more with the Spurs,
01:07possibly being the best opportunity to take down the Thunder
01:11and the juggernaut that is the Oklahoma City,
01:13you know, things that they can do down there.
01:16But I just think that Wimby is such a hard player to have to game plan for,
01:20especially in a seven-game series.
01:21It would obviously be Sinema,
01:22and I think that a lot of people would love that Western Conference Finals.
01:26But, again, I'm a little bit biased
01:28because I just really don't enjoy watching Thunder basketball.
01:30I know that everybody has their cup of tea in the NBA.
01:32They're just not mine.
01:33But I think that the Spurs, with the depth that they have this year,
01:36with another year of Stephon Castle kind of growing even further
01:38in his NBA development,
01:40with how De'Aaron Fox can obviously be a game-changer at any particular point,
01:43and players like Dylan Harper, Keldon Johnson,
01:46obviously Devin Vassell,
01:48and the depth that they have behind Wimby with Luke Cornett and company.
01:50So I think that they have all the pieces necessary
01:53that would be required to take down the big, bad Thunder in Oklahoma City.
01:58And I think that they have a lot of value at 3-1 right now
02:00to win the Western Conference.
