Ziggy Marley On Dedicating Songs to Dad, Bob Marley
Transcript
00:00I'm only doing music in 4.32.
00:02Nice, it changed you that much?
00:03Yes, I'm never doing 4.32.
00:04The human frequency.
00:05Now I'm going to be asking people that too.
00:07I'm like, hey, excuse me, you got 4.32?
00:08Not messing with it.
00:09Don't want it, don't want it.
00:11And then also with this project, I feel like recently,
00:14it's been one of the first times you've done songs about your dad as well.
00:17Yeah, yeah.
00:22Talk to me about Morn for Bob and what it is to write songs when you have him in mind.
00:26Yeah, that song, interesting song.
00:28I don't know why I wrote that song.
00:32I don't understand where that song came from.
00:35Honestly, I don't.
00:36I think I was trying to tell a story.
00:38I don't know what sparked me to even go there.
00:42Because I don't think it was like, oh, yeah, let me write a song for Aunt Bamfather or something like
00:48that.
00:49But what I can tell you is when I was in the studio doing my demos by myself,
00:55and I do this song, I said to myself, I feel like in some way to me,
00:59and this is a part of me kind of trying for me to be open and truthful, you know?
01:04Because not everything I like, something I like to hide, you know?
01:07But like right now in time, I say, let me tell people, let me see how you feel about this.
01:12So during this song, I actually felt like, I said to myself, yeah, my father could be singing this song.
01:18Like, this could be coming from him.
01:21This could be him singing this song.
