00:00:08Big city, bright lights, this is the place where stars are born, baby.
00:00:15More idols have come through this town than anywhere else in the world.
00:00:19The best singers in the country are here to put on a show.
00:00:26But the thing is, this city has no idea what's about to happen.
00:00:31Hollywood Week has arrived in Music City.
00:00:41And the lights are brighter than ever.
00:00:47With the band behind them, it's time for our idol hopefuls to face the music.
00:00:55Hollywood Week in Nashville, outstanding.
00:00:59Music City is like holy ground.
00:01:00The energy in this city is different.
00:01:02It's super nerve-wracking, but super exciting.
00:01:05Hollywood Week in Music City just feels surreal.
00:01:08They'll have one song, one shot to leave it all on the stage.
00:01:13My life could be changing right now.
00:01:16Buckle up, y'all, because this is American Idol.
00:01:21I thank you to knock me out.
00:01:28One hundred twenty-seven of the nation's most talented singers have graduated to the next step in this already epic
00:01:35season.
00:01:37Hollywood Week, Music City takeover.
00:01:40We just had auditions.
00:01:43Moving right into Hollywood Week.
00:01:45This is the earliest they've ever went right in there with the full band.
00:01:49One shot, some of them have never played with a band in their lives.
00:01:54Okay, here it goes.
00:01:55Some people can handle that, and some people can't handle that.
00:01:58We're out for blood.
00:01:59Each hopeful will sing for the judges and more than 1,500 eager idol fans.
00:02:05We're out for blood.
00:02:06Throughout the day, the judges will stomp down.
00:02:08All right, what do we think?
00:02:09Deliberate and begin making some tough decisions.
00:02:13It's sink or swim.
00:02:14For most, this is where the dream ends.
00:02:17I'm not sure if that was the right song.
00:02:20Bring it on!
00:02:22I love it!
00:02:27But for the best of the best, the journey will continue.
00:02:31Your dreams are still alive.
00:02:33Into the all-new Golden Room.
00:02:36Where the only thing to do is wait.
00:02:39Still in the race for the top 30.
00:02:41But nothing is final.
00:02:43We got more bloodshed coming.
00:02:45Because the decision that matters the most comes at the end of the round.
00:02:49We're out for blood.
00:02:50We're going to be looking for that next level that instantly goes from American Idol stage to that Grammy Award
00:02:57winning artist.
00:02:58And that's what we're looking for.
00:03:01Hollywood Week Music City Takeover starts right now.
00:03:05Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready?
00:03:09Say hello to your judges.
00:03:13Let's get this party going.
00:03:17Oh, yeah.
00:03:19Coming all the way from Alabama, here's 26-year-old Brian Cummings.
00:03:24All right.
00:03:26All right.
00:03:35My last audition was pretty cool.
00:03:37Don't look at me.
00:03:39We're not looking.
00:03:40Okay.
00:03:41No one had really seen my face before my audition.
00:03:44So it was great to finally be able to step down into the spotlight.
00:03:48Wow.
00:03:49Wow.
00:03:50Everything after that just felt like magical.
00:03:53Hey!
00:03:54So.
00:03:56Yes, yes, yes!
00:03:58Oh, congratulations.
00:04:03Welcome to my hometown, Mobile, Alabama.
00:04:09I started supporting myself completely off of music with a band of guys.
00:04:14You know, we played three to five shows a week.
00:04:17So I'm used to performing on stage, but never in such a beautiful theater as this or being
00:04:23in front of that giant live band.
00:04:27It's nerve-wracking.
00:04:28But this is my opportunity to really, like, show people who I am.
00:04:33I'm going to be singing Champagne Problems by Taylor Swift for you guys.
00:04:37Oh, wow.
00:04:39Okay.
00:04:40Oh, my God.
00:04:41Oh, my God.
00:04:45You booked the night train for a reason
00:04:48So you could sit there in this hurt
00:04:56Bustling crowds of silent sleepers
00:05:00I'm not sure which is worth
00:05:05Cause I dropped your hand while dancing
00:05:10Left you out there standing
00:05:13Crits falling on the landing
00:05:16Champagne problems
00:05:18Your mom's drink in your pocket
00:05:22My picture in your wallet
00:05:24Your heart was glass
00:05:26I dropped it
00:05:27Champagne problems
00:05:31From the Chevy door
00:05:33November flush
00:05:35In your flannel coat
00:05:36This storm was once a madhouse
00:05:38I made a joke
00:05:40But it's made for me
00:05:41How?
00:05:42Evergreen
00:05:43Our group of friends
00:05:44Don't think we'll say that word again
00:05:47Then soon they'll have the middle
00:05:49To deck the halls that we once walked through
00:05:52Two one for the money
00:05:54Two for the show
00:05:55I never was ready
00:05:56So I watch you go
00:05:58Sometimes you just don't know the answer
00:06:01If someone's on their knees and ask you
00:06:03You could have made such a lovely bride
00:06:06What a shame she's stuck in her head
00:06:08They said
00:06:09But you'll find the real thing instead
00:06:11She'll patch up your tapestry that I shred in
00:06:15Hold your hand while dancing
00:06:18Never leave you standing
00:06:21Crest falling on the landing
00:06:24With champagne problems
00:06:32Thank you guys so much
00:06:35Oh yeah
00:06:36Passionate
00:06:37Oh yeah
00:06:39Hi

00:06:49I love that you picked that song
00:06:51Because I mean
00:06:52I feel like you're going to keep us on our toes
00:06:54And I love that
00:06:55And you've got a great voice
00:06:56On top of it
00:06:58It's so soulful
00:07:00Very cool
00:07:00Thank you
00:07:03For now
00:07:03Bryant will have to wait
00:07:05To learn his fate in the competition
00:07:06This year
00:07:08The judges will watch groups of performances
00:07:10Back to back
00:07:10Very cool
00:07:11Then
00:07:11They'll deliberate
00:07:12And deliver results
00:07:13All adding up to the biggest cut
00:07:15In Idol history
00:07:17All right
00:07:18Cue it
00:07:19Did they clean up the glasses?
00:07:20Did they get them?
00:07:21I thought those were truck shop glasses
00:07:24Who's next?
00:07:26Carey?
00:07:27Who we got?
00:07:27Who we got?
00:07:29All right
00:07:29Here we go
00:07:31This is a really big moment for me
00:07:32I'm ready to get out there
00:07:34And just do what I gotta do
00:07:36Never in a million years
00:07:37I thought I would be here
00:07:39The audition with the judges
00:07:41Went really good
00:07:42It was such a vibe
00:07:43Oh boy
00:07:44Hi Miss Carol
00:07:45Hi
00:07:45And just having my son
00:07:47On the Idol journey
00:07:48Has been a joy
00:07:52God only knows
00:07:53What to say about you
00:07:55I've been doing music
00:07:56For six years
00:07:58I've had a lot of ups and downs
00:08:00And I was doubting myself
00:08:01But I never gave up
00:08:03That fire was still burning
00:08:04You want it bigger?
00:08:05Yeah I want it big
00:08:06Oh
00:08:07I'll make sure we're big there
00:08:08I just want to pour out my heart
00:08:09Oh let's go
00:08:10The song I'm singing today is
00:08:12I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz
00:08:14It speaks to me
00:08:15Because the first thing I thought about
00:08:17Is just me and my son
00:08:19So when I sing the song
00:08:20I'm singing to him
00:08:21I think at the very beginning
00:08:23I want you to sing it like you're singing a lullaby
00:08:26Like you're rocking him to sleep
00:08:29Just really sing
00:08:31I do want to be somebody for my son
00:08:33I want him to know
00:08:35You can do anything you put your mind to do
00:08:37You want to come watch your mom with me?
00:08:40Okay come around this way
00:08:45You sit in my seat
00:08:46Ladies and gentlemen
00:08:47Make some noise for Keilah Richardson
00:08:56My name is Keilah
00:08:57And I'll be singing
00:08:58I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz
00:09:00I want to let my son know that
00:09:03Never give up baby boy
00:09:04I love you
00:09:05This is for you baby
00:09:15When I look into your eyes
00:09:20It's like watching the night's gasp
00:09:27What a beautiful sunrise
00:09:30Well there's so much stay home
00:09:37Cause even the stars they burn
00:09:43Some even fall to the earth
00:09:49And we got a lot to learn
00:09:54And God knows we were there
00:10:01I don't want to be someone
00:10:03Who walks away so easily
00:10:04I'm here to make the difference
00:10:07I can make
00:10:11And in the end
00:10:13You're still my friend
00:10:16Yeah we got a lot to stay
00:10:22I won't give up
00:10:24Oh won't us
00:10:27Even in the skies
00:10:29Can't rub
00:10:32I'm giving you all
00:10:35All my love
00:10:37I'm still looking up
00:10:41Yeah

00:13:29In hopes of surviving the most brutal cut in Hollywood Week history
00:13:36Knowing only 30 of us are gonna make it through
00:13:38Is a super scary feeling
00:13:39I mean
00:13:41This is crazy
00:13:42It makes my belly hurt
00:13:43I feel like I'm gonna throw up
00:13:44Oh lord have mercy
00:13:46I just wanted to come and sit and listen to people
00:13:49But you're the butcher now
00:13:50I know
00:13:50It's terrible
00:13:53It's a war right now
00:13:54But you know
00:13:56I've dreamed of this my entire life
00:13:57So getting to the top 30
00:13:59This would change literally everything for me
00:14:02Make some noise for Navey
00:14:03National
00:14:04How we do it baby
00:14:12Singing to Carrie Underwood song in front of Carrie
00:14:15Was definitely a little nerve wracking
00:14:16But she gave me like really good advice
00:14:18If you start off out of the gate going 100 miles an hour
00:14:22There's nowhere left to go
00:14:24So if the audition was 100 miles per hour
00:14:26What speed will this be?
00:14:28Slow
00:14:29We're gonna take it slow
00:14:29We're gonna be sexy about it
00:14:31We're gonna be sexy?
00:14:32Oh yeah
00:14:32I'm excited
00:14:33I'm ready
00:14:34Let's see it
00:14:35Get with me
00:14:39Let's take our time tonight
00:14:43Girl
00:14:44Mothers are the stars are watching
00:14:49Underneath the chandelier
00:14:54We're dancing all alone
00:14:58There's no reason to hide
00:15:02What we're feeling inside
00:15:04Right now
00:15:09So baby let's just turn down the light
00:15:13And close the door
00:15:16Ooh I love that dress
00:15:19But you won't need it anymore
00:15:24No you won't need it no more
00:15:27Let's just kiss till we're naked
00:15:30Baby
00:15:31Massaging on the floor
00:15:34Come on
00:15:36Oh
00:15:38Take it off for me
00:15:40For me
00:15:40For me
00:15:41For me
00:15:41For me
00:15:42For me
00:15:42Now girl
00:15:43Versace
00:15:44On the floor
00:15:48Oh
00:15:49Take it off for me
00:15:51For me
00:15:52For me
00:15:52For me
00:15:53For me
00:15:53For me
00:15:53Now girl
00:15:55I said Versace
00:15:57She on the floor
00:16:01Oh
00:16:06Thank you
00:16:08Thank you
00:16:09When you cause a judge so much excitement that he almost rolls his ass off the back of this band
00:16:16It is clear that you are doing something entertaining
00:16:21You are just performing
00:16:23I will tell you though song choice is going to be the master of here
00:16:29We know you have a voice in there okay so if there's a next time I want you to come
00:16:34out and show it off
00:16:36But overall you did a great job
00:16:41So Libby now waits for results while the round continues
00:16:46I'm nervous because I'm hearing so many amazing singers
00:16:59This performance is a huge deal I get the chance to show the judges that I'm worth it
00:17:07You look like a star and you have such a big big voice but I had trouble picking up a
00:17:13lot of those lyrics because of the bending and the rounding out and the back phrasing and all that
00:17:19But you know we'll see what happens later
00:17:22Okay
00:17:23Thank you
00:17:24I just thought that I had done better than he said but apparently I didn't
00:17:33I'm a little nervous
00:17:34I'm getting a little overwhelmed
00:17:36The judges they have some really tough decisions to make today but
00:17:40I want to be one of the top 30 like so bad that I could hit a backflip right now
00:17:47I can't flip but I'll try
00:17:53I never thought I would make it to Hollywood week
00:17:56But singing has always been my dream
00:18:00And my dad he just encouraged me to do whatever I put my mind to
00:18:04And he's like baby you gonna get it
00:18:06I am missing my dad wishing that he was here
00:18:13My dad passed away 11 years ago from cancer
00:18:16I was 13 years old
00:18:20I was a daddy's girl
00:18:22I was there every day every step of the way
00:18:25Take an angel by the way
00:18:27At the hospital I fed him
00:18:29I got him water
00:18:30One more day
00:18:32Take an angel by the way
00:18:36I was there to the very end
00:18:39Ask her for the strength to stay
00:18:44Dear dad
00:18:45I've lived so much life since you've been gone
00:18:48And sometimes I wish I could sit with you
00:18:50And tell you all of it
00:18:52I carry you with me
00:18:54In my heart
00:18:56Every step forward
00:18:59I miss you more than words could ever say
00:19:04Love your baby girl
00:19:07I know he's proud
00:19:10With his performance
00:19:13I know he's looking down and shining down on me
00:19:17And when I hit this stage the heavens will be dancing
00:19:28How did you get here
00:19:34Nobody's supposed to be here
00:19:39I've tried that love thing for the last time
00:19:46But when I turn around
00:19:50Again love has knocked me down
00:19:54My heart got broke
00:19:57You know it hurts so bad
00:19:58I'm sad to say love is again
00:20:03So I place my heart under lock and key
00:20:06To take some time and take care of me
00:20:10But I turn around
00:20:13But I turn around
00:20:13And you're standing here
00:20:19Standing here
00:20:21Standing here
00:20:22Oh yeah
00:20:25No, no, no, no, no, no, nobody
00:20:27No, no, no, no, nobody
00:20:32I've tried it over and over
00:20:35My, my, my heart said
00:20:40No, no, no, no, no, no, nobody's supposed to be here
00:20:47Came along and changed my mind
00:20:52How did you get here?
00:21:12I don't know where you gonna be in the stars
00:21:16But you are a star
00:21:18Thank you
00:21:22With the first line of singers complete
00:21:24Making this so difficult
00:21:26Where are you putting all these people?
00:21:27It's time for the judges to discuss what they've heard
00:21:30I had her as a yes
00:21:31You think?
00:21:32She had the wrong song
00:21:34That was the wrong everything
00:21:35This year they will first decide
00:21:37If our hopefuls have shown enough potential
00:21:41Make it here to the golden room
00:21:42And you're still in the mix for a spot in the top 30
00:21:45Otherwise, it's the end of the road
00:21:48Alright
00:21:49You know I'm sad to see this one go
00:21:52But for those who've made it here
00:21:54They can't get too comfortable
00:21:55Because more dramatic cuts
00:21:57Are just around the corner
00:22:00I've always dreamed of being in a position like this, so
00:22:04It's so hard having to cut this many, y'all
00:22:14At this stage of the competition
00:22:17We have to cut from 127 down to 30
00:22:24This is not your everyday easy task
00:22:30Would the people I call please step forward?
00:22:34Bryant
00:22:37Keela
00:22:42Makaya
00:22:46Front row
00:22:48You are going to the golden room
00:22:50Your journey with us continues

00:22:57We're sorry but your journey with American Idol ends now
00:23:01It's like a whole weight that's been lifted off of me
00:23:05I feel so good, I'm just really celebrating
00:23:10Going back to serving tables, you know
00:23:12We didn't get what we wanted, but it's okay
00:23:15It just wasn't enough basically
00:23:20Made it through to the gold room
00:23:22I have no idea what's going to happen next
00:23:25But I cannot wait
00:23:30Here's 27-year-old Jordan McCullough
00:23:35Let the church say amen
00:23:36Amen
00:23:37Amen
00:23:43People
00:23:46Keep on learning
00:23:48Ready
00:23:49While soldiers
00:23:52I see you over there
00:23:54Keep on touring
00:23:56Oh, girl
00:24:02Keep on turning
00:24:05Cause it won't be too long
00:24:11So glad that you let me try it again
00:24:14It's my last time on earth
00:24:17I've been the whole world of sin
00:24:18So glad that I know more than I do then
00:24:22Gonna keep on trying
00:24:24Till I reach my high ground
00:24:30So glad that you let me try it again
00:24:34It's my last time on earth
00:24:36I've been the whole world of sin
00:24:38So glad that I know more than I do then
00:24:42Gonna keep on trying
00:24:47Till I reach
00:24:56I reach my high ground
00:25:16Wait now, wait now
00:25:19Let the universe say amen
00:25:21Amen
00:25:22You have found some new notes on higher ground
00:25:26Excellent, excellent, excellent
00:25:29Thank you guys so much
00:25:32Fire
00:25:34Up next to perform
00:25:36And hoping for a similar reaction from the judges
00:25:3821 year old rocker
00:25:41Madison Moon
00:25:42I've been performing since I was very, very little
00:25:45I grew up listening to rock
00:25:48My dad loves hard rock music
00:25:50And I always listen to it with him
00:25:53My dad bought my first guitar
00:25:55And I still use it today
00:25:56Both of my parents are musicians
00:25:58And it's just amazing to have them see me do my thing
00:26:02Coming up next, get up audience
00:26:04For Madison Moon
00:26:09I am very excited to see Carrie again
00:26:11I'm actually doing a song that she did when she was on the show
00:26:15I'm gonna be doing Alone by Heart
00:26:17When I saw Carrie's idol performance of Alone
00:26:20It introduced me to the band Heart
00:26:22This is a very challenging song
00:26:24Especially I take it up all steps
00:26:27I'm doing it a key higher
00:26:28It's kind of insane that I'm going to sing it in front of Carrie
00:26:32So I'm hoping for the best
00:26:41I hear the ticking of the clock
00:26:45I'm lying here
00:26:47The room's pinched dark
00:26:53I wonder where you are tonight
00:26:57No answer on the telephone
00:27:04And the night goes by so very slow
00:27:08Oh, I hope that it won't end all
00:27:15How long
00:27:22Till now
00:27:24I've always gone by on my own
00:27:29I never really got it
00:27:32Just I met you
00:27:35And the night shows me to the moon
00:27:39How do I got you in love?
00:27:45How do I got you in love?
00:27:49How do I got you in love?
00:28:02Oh, I don't know
00:28:04Oh, I don't know
00:28:12What am I doing?
00:28:13I don't know
00:28:14You did it
00:28:15She did it
00:28:15You did it
00:28:17You did it
00:28:19Carrie did that song on the show a while back
00:28:22Now, what is she gonna say about that?
00:28:26You are the only person on planet Earth who has ever raised the key on that song.
00:28:35All I got to say is, dang.
00:28:43Wow.
00:28:44Oh, my God.
00:28:45I just sang in front of Carrie Underwood again.
00:28:49Raised the freaking key.
00:28:52I didn't know it was possible to do that.
00:28:54Now it's judgment time for Jordan and Madison.
00:29:00No matter what happens, man, that is the best that I have ever done.
00:29:05I got a bloodbath.
00:29:07We're a little more brutal.
00:29:08Cutting them in half, and then we got to do another half.
00:29:11Jordan.
00:29:13Madison.
00:29:15Your dream is still alive.
00:29:17Thank you very much.
00:29:24That's crazy.
00:29:26I was not expecting that.
00:29:27Oh, my God.
00:29:32I'm really proud of myself.
00:29:38It's just insane that this is such a huge cut.
00:29:41And for me to be considered to be in the top 30, it means the world.
00:29:46So Madison is the first of our rockers to get to the golden room.
00:29:50And after that, it was time for the male rockers to take the stage.
00:29:54Music City, you ready to rock?
00:30:10So you know I'm in your corner.
00:30:12I feel like we had a few hiccups in there.
00:30:42You're just a good time, Noah.
00:30:44I don't come down to, like, the Broadway bars, but I would come if you were playing.
00:30:50Oh, my God.
00:30:52Every girl crazy about a sharp-dressed man.
00:31:00Rock can do no wrong and carries us.
00:31:03That's not true.
00:31:04I mean, he did the moonwalk in boots, people.
00:31:06He moonwalked.
00:31:10I don't know.
00:31:11He might be someone people want to get behind.
00:31:14But, I mean, is he going to be a contender?
00:31:17No.
00:31:21Brett, step forward, please.
00:31:24Noah.
00:31:29I'm sorry, but your journey with us ends right now.
00:31:34They canned me.
00:31:36I think I'm going to follow him on Instagram after this.
00:31:40The crowd started cheering, and I completely lost my spot a couple of times, but it's all good.
00:31:45It was awesome to be a part of the whole thing.
00:31:47I'm losing my rockers.
00:31:49You know I'm sad.
00:31:51Cheers.
00:31:52God bless America.
00:32:00Make some noise for Trace Casanova!
00:32:03Come on, Trace!
00:32:04Come on!
00:32:05Oh, boy.
00:32:07Here we go.
00:32:08Oh, yeah.
00:32:10Mike, Michael, Michael, raise your hand if your name is Michael.
00:32:14Oh, we got one over here.
00:32:16All right.
00:32:16Is that good?
00:32:17Thank you, everybody.
00:32:18That concludes our mic check.
00:32:24Let's swing it, boys.
00:32:38I can't believe you've got the internet.
00:32:40I can't believe you've got the internet.
00:32:46I can't believe you've got the internet.
00:32:50I know that things are going wrong for me.
00:33:01You gotta listen to my word.
00:33:08Yeah, yeah.
00:33:09Going off the rails on a crazy train.
00:33:16Going off the rails on a crazy train.
00:33:37No!
00:33:39No!
00:33:41No!
00:33:45Trace, what are you doing?
00:33:48I mean, I mean...
00:33:50Trace is just being Trace.
00:33:51I mean, Trace.
00:33:52I mean, I love it.
00:33:53You kill it, man.
00:33:55Thank you, Trace.
00:33:59Are y'all on drugs?
00:34:01Sure, you're stirring the pot out there with those guys.
00:34:04That's what we do, man.
00:34:05Yeah.
00:34:05I'm glad I'm good at this because I can't serve tables.
00:34:07Well, either they want to rise or they want to fall.
00:34:10It's kind of making our decisions easy.
00:34:12Easy cuts.
00:34:12Yeah.
00:34:14Audience, please put your hands together.
00:34:16Coming all the way from Dorado, Puerto Rico!
00:34:19Roel!
00:34:22Roel!
00:34:27Since my audition, I actually flew back to Death Valley.
00:34:31Did my eighth hour shift at the Desert Outfitters bike shop.
00:34:35These are the prices for the e-bikes.
00:34:37For me, it's very important to keep this job because my housing situation is tied to my job.
00:34:45It's for adjusting if it's too small or too big.
00:34:48Risking my living situation for this opportunity is scary.
00:34:59Today I'm going to be singing California by the Great Chapel Road.
00:35:04This song, California, talks about moving from your hometown to pursue your dream and not wanting to let your family
00:35:10down.
00:35:12This is basically the anthem of my life, the risk that I'm taking right now to pursue my music dreams.
00:35:19When I step on the stage, I'm going to be thinking about that plane flight that I took from Puerto
00:35:25Rico to California.
00:35:28My brother dropping me off, giving me a hug, telling me, you can do this.
00:35:36Go and make us proud.
00:35:40I stretch myself across four states, new lands, west coast, where my dreams lay.
00:35:55I trade amber clay roads for the sea foam and the endless sun rays.
00:36:09Cause I was never told that I wasn't gonna get the things I want the most.
00:36:15But people always say if it hasn't happened yet, then maybe you should go.
00:36:23Come get me out of California.
00:36:28And all these are brown.
00:36:31I miss the seasons in Missouri.
00:36:35My dying town.
00:36:38Thought I'd be cool in California.
00:36:41I'd make you proud.
00:36:45I'd make you proud.
00:36:46I think I almost had a going.
00:36:49But I made you proud.
00:36:55Come get me out.
00:36:59Come get me out.
00:37:03Thought I'd be cool in California.
00:37:05I'd make you proud.
00:37:09To think I almost had a going.
00:37:13But I made you proud.
00:37:16Come get me out.
00:37:22Come get me out.
00:37:28Come get me out.
00:37:29Thank you so much.
00:37:33you were holding that note at the end i said okay okay that was fabulous but let me tell you
00:37:38something you have a natural stage presence that you can't teach i think you did a great job
00:37:46i'm not fully satisfied with my performance i kind of messed up on the lyrics i feel like i
00:37:53could have done much better if i'm being honest i think she missed a note that she tripped on
00:37:59the sequence of the lyrics that's my favorite song like i know it completely by heart
00:38:05it was just the nerves maybe it got too excited it is done
00:38:12you're okay

00:39:08when i'm overwhelmed and touched out they come climbing up on the couch saying mama can you open my
00:39:18string cheese i was excited that carrie had an emotional connection to the song because she's in
00:39:24the same position she's a boy mom oh well that's about the most relatable song i think i've ever heard
00:39:29and what nobody knew was how her original song would quickly become one of the most viewed

00:40:57nothing short of breaking down is gonna get me off this road that i'm on
00:41:05but i won't win anywhere as fast as i can
00:41:11i'm a little past a little rock further down the line
00:41:17too soon to know what's up ahead too late to change my mind
00:41:23gotta keep my heart out of this with both hands on the wheel
00:41:28learning more with every mile just tell me that feels it's a lonely stretch of black tie
00:41:37out into the blue don't know where i'll go or what i'll do
00:41:45i'm a little past a little rock but a long ways from over you
00:41:56i'm a little past a little rock but a long ways from over you
00:42:16i'm a little past a little past a little past a little past a little past an early
00:42:19Hidey Hanna you know you you're one of my favorites in auditions
00:42:25leanne womack it's not an easy person thing to sing it's like you listen to it it's so nice
00:42:29but you don't realize how intricate the things that she does with her voice and i feel like
00:42:34you just nailed that thank you so much man i thought i had it you must have felt great about
00:42:43that performance i was very excited about the performance i just wish i wouldn't have messed
00:42:47up the words you did did we even notice i don't think anybody knows i didn't notice i noticed man
00:42:53i was beating myself up she jumbled lyrics too and got through it and she handled it and didn't
00:42:59even bump yeah i'm real worried right now i got excited i forgot the words didn't come in on the
00:43:06right spot but i sure hope i did enough to make it to the next round with another group of
00:43:14performances
00:43:15in the books all right okay all right what do we think our hopefuls wait to see if they've done
00:43:21enough to survive the judges first thing there's a lot at stake right now i'm very eager to show
00:43:29the world that even a girl from puerto rico can do anything i i think this guy's time to go
00:43:35i i
00:43:36think he just didn't rise to the occasion it makes me sad though because i feel like it's in there
00:43:40hate this part oh lord have mercy oh hang in there hang in there
00:43:48that's one because i'm sure what's happening to you and i can do anything else

00:43:54Roelle Trace
00:43:58Hannah
00:44:02You are still in the running to become the next american idol
00:44:08Front row, I'm sorry that your journey has to end right now.
00:44:13Those are happy tears.
00:44:16Yes.
00:44:16I did it, tears.
00:44:18Yes.
00:44:19You wouldn't even understand.
00:44:21I didn't have an idea.
00:44:22I'm getting the picture.
00:44:25I was scared.
00:44:26I was terrified.
00:44:27I didn't think I was going to get it through.
00:44:31What's with that wind?
00:44:33It's a winner's breath.
00:44:34I don't know, man.
00:44:35The winner's breath.
00:44:36Oh, God, dude.
00:44:37All right.
00:44:38So much fun.
00:44:39So our hopefuls can celebrate for now.
00:44:42But they'll have to wait with the others until the end of the round when the judges make their final
00:44:47decision on who's made it into the top 30.
00:44:49I'm scared.
00:44:50Everyone's so crazy talented.
00:44:52Some of us are going home.
00:44:54I would like it not to be me.
00:44:56Being here in the golden room and knowing that so many people are going to get cut, it's kind of
00:45:00scary.
00:45:00But I think the pressure is good and it will help me get through this stage.
00:45:08All right.
00:45:09Who's next?
00:45:11This is a tough board, man.
00:45:14We'll see what they do.
00:45:18It's a lot more than three people sitting at a table.
00:45:20A lot more.
00:45:21Yeah.
00:45:25I'm just struggling with them.
00:45:27I don't know why.
00:45:28She's got the voice.
00:45:30It's the nerves.
00:45:32Probably.
00:45:33We had people in auditions that were confident, spitfires.
00:45:38And we gave them some feedback.
00:45:41It was a little shaky to start.
00:45:44And it's like they fret and worry and overthink everything that we told them.
00:45:51I think the nerves might have compromised just how good of a singer you are a little bit.
00:45:57Did we scare him?
00:45:58I think we did.
00:45:59I really hope I did enough to make it.
00:46:03Oh, sorry.
00:46:04Can you take the pressure?
00:46:05That's the business.
00:46:09My knees are shaking, dude.
00:46:11What's up, bro?
00:46:12Oh, my God.
00:46:12Your knees are shaking?
00:46:13Yes, my knees are shaking.
00:46:15My audition, the first time I had my hands in my pockets.
00:46:18Take your hands out your pocket and look the folks straight in the face.
00:46:23Yeah, I got to make sure I keep those out.
00:46:24Don't put them back here, though.
00:46:26There you go.
00:46:26Just keep them up there.
00:46:27Are you going to hold a microphone?
00:46:29Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:46:29That takes care of one.
00:46:30Yeah, there you go.
00:46:31Now, it's what to do with the other.
00:46:34Yeah, yeah, that's a good, I mean, that kind of thing.
00:46:37I need to show them more of my charisma, I guess, on stage.
00:46:41And I hope they'll be able to see me move around a little bit more and be more of an
00:46:44entertainer.
00:46:45All right, hold up.
00:46:47I'm not too confident.
00:46:49You don't have to do a crazy run.
00:46:51I enjoy insurance.
00:46:52I enjoy helping families out.
00:46:55But at the end of the day, music's my first passion.
00:46:58And that's why I'm here.
00:47:03Something's got a hold of me lately.
00:47:06No, I don't know myself anymore.
00:47:12Feels like the walls are all closing in.
00:47:16The devil's knocking at my door.
00:47:20Whoa, whoa.
00:47:21Out of my mind.
00:47:22How many times did I tell you?
00:47:25No good at being alone.
00:47:28Yeah, it's taking a toll on me.
00:47:32Trying my best to keep from tearing this skin off my bones.
00:47:37Don't you know?
00:47:40I lose control.
00:47:45Oh, we are not next to me.
00:47:51I'm falling on cloud riding.
00:47:55What do you get to see?
00:47:58How many times do I tell you?
00:48:03Oh, we are not next to me.
00:48:11I'm falling on cloud riding.
00:48:13What do you get to see?
00:48:15Oh, we are not next to me.
00:48:28Oh, I'm falling off now.
00:48:31I'm falling off now.
00:48:38Can't you see?
00:48:45Fill me!
00:48:49Fill me!
00:48:57I mean, how about that?
00:48:59Fill me!
00:49:00Who possessed you?
00:49:02I mean, you kind of walk out, and then you open your mouth, and you turn in to somebody else.
00:49:13And I'm telling you, that's somebody else we love!
00:49:19Fill me!
00:49:21Thank you, so good.
00:49:27Oh my God.
00:49:28That right there was two times better than I was expecting.
00:49:31Unassuming.
00:49:32I mean, walked out here, and then knocked us right out.
00:49:35Shocker.
00:49:36Even your eyes are watering.
00:49:37Yeah, I know, I almost started crying.
00:49:38I feel like I had to get off stage for America to see me cry a little bit.
00:49:42I'm so proud of you.
00:49:44Oh man, this is getting hard.
00:49:47I feel like we've had a lot of good ones.
00:49:48I need, I need people to start messing up.
00:49:51We're gonna be so...
00:49:58Welcome back to American Idol.
00:50:01So far, after 52 performances, just 19 hopefuls have moved on to the Golden Room.
00:50:07Still in consideration for the top 30.
00:50:10They're at least cutting half of us, and like, I ain't gonna sit here and lie.
00:50:14I'm a little scared.
00:50:15Once all 127 have sung, those who remain here will have to survive one more major cut at the end
00:50:23of the round.
00:50:24I've heard people sing, and there's a lot of very, very, very talented people here.
00:50:29This is the biggest stage that I've ever performed on in my life.
00:50:37First time I performed on a stage was just at my piano recital.
00:50:40I was probably about eight years old.
00:50:46I thought I had just won a Grammy after I sang that song.
00:50:51I don't think my younger self would really believe it, that I would be performing on this massive stage.
00:50:56My first audition, I did guitar, but this week, I'm showing a little bit of a different side of myself.
00:51:01I'm gonna have to up my game if I want to get to that 30.
00:51:11Who were you but...
00:51:17Oh oh, Georgia
00:51:22The whole day through
00:51:27Just an old sweet song Keeps Georgia on my mind
00:51:43Other on, reach out to me
00:51:50Other on, smile tenderly
00:51:59Still in peaceful dreams I see
00:52:04The road leads back to you
00:52:11I said Georgia, Georgia
00:52:21No peace, no peace I find
00:52:26Just an old sweet song
00:52:31Keeps Georgia on my mind
00:52:39I said just an old sweet song
00:52:47Keeps Georgia on my mind
00:53:17I've heard the rest of the singers in my group
00:53:19It's actually really intimidating
00:53:22Especially because rehearsal has been stressful
00:53:26I could not hear myself at all
00:53:29I couldn't hear anything
00:53:31You walked past the wedges
00:53:32But you were not off pitch
00:53:35Your notes were on
00:53:37But I know myself and I've never sang that horrible
00:53:42I really want to show the judges something out of my comfort zone and that's what they asked for
00:53:47You were hitting some high notes in there
00:53:51Yeah
00:53:51But it would be great if you could put some oomph in there
00:53:54Oh you should see me with a band
00:53:58Maybe I took it too far and I'm doing too hard of a song
00:54:01I just fell
00:54:02I kind of stumbled a little bit
00:54:03I just wanted to be good enough for this
00:54:05But it's just starting to feel like I can't do it
00:54:13But right now I'm just trying to remember my Aunt Brittany
00:54:17I think Brittany has always been a very big mentor to me
00:54:23To believe in myself
00:54:25To have the confidence
00:54:26You are ready
00:54:27You're ready for this
00:54:28You were born for this
00:54:29Born for this
00:54:31And that just helps
00:54:33Just remind myself that
00:54:36I am good enough to just be here at this part
00:54:38I really don't want to screw it up
00:54:43At least I look hot when I cry
00:54:55Your love is like a tile away
00:54:59Your love is like a tile away
00:55:00Standing over my head
00:55:02You're drowning me in your promises
00:55:05Better left unsaved
00:55:08You're the strong kind of sinner
00:55:11To release my inner fantasy
00:55:14The events of the winner
00:55:17And you know that you are born to be
00:55:22You're a heartbreaker
00:55:25Dream maker
00:55:26Love taker
00:55:28Don't you get around with me
00:55:29You're a heartbreaker
00:55:31Dream maker
00:55:33Love taker
00:55:34Don't you get around with me
00:55:35She's giving up?
00:55:35I think she's giving up
00:55:37Come back
00:55:37Just don't
00:55:40Don't
00:55:41My heart's around
00:55:46With me
00:55:55Oh
00:55:59You good, are you okay? You good? I have fun good
00:56:04Okay, I kind of felt like you look like you're about to pass out or something
00:56:09It's a fast song. Yeah, so yes, I was trying to keep up but I did my best
00:56:16I know we were like we need some gas and we need some sass and you you picked a sassy
00:56:21song
00:56:21Yeah, but then I felt like you were just running behind it
00:56:27So I I feel like I don't know where we're processing here
00:56:31But you obviously have it like this huge range to work with and I mean we love you or you
00:56:38wouldn't be here
00:56:39Thank you
00:56:46I actually thought I was pinning a lot into the performance to sort of hear that
00:56:51Just kind of broke me
00:56:54We're so critical now we have to be we got so many to go through how many do we need
00:57:00to get rid of a lot of people are going home today?
00:57:03I really hope I'm not one of them didn't we like him he has a great voice
00:57:07But he gets lost in the moment, right?
00:57:11I don't know I just like him okay people's dreams if I call your name, please step forward
00:57:23Filming
00:57:32If I call your name, please step forward filming
00:57:41Lucas
00:57:44Kira
00:57:49You three are still in the competition going through to the golden room
00:57:57Thank you guys
00:58:02The big one there
00:58:04I'm a little cloud nine right now or whatever the phrase is cloud nine, cloud ten
00:58:08Oh my gosh, this is huge. This is amazing. I'm so excited
00:58:12We only called three names and phrase B that I was one of them
00:58:17This is the end of the road for now for here for American Idol American Idol, but not for car
00:58:24No, of course not
00:58:25No, I have to still be my ambitious self and just try to raise for the stars
00:58:33So two of our youngest hopefuls have moved on to the golden room
00:58:38And from there more teenage singers were proving they came to fight
00:58:54Yes, people are always surprised when they hear how young I am and they like you're 16 I get that
00:59:00a lot
00:59:00But I can sing okay guys like watch out
00:59:23You know I keep looking at the number it says 16 I keep looking at the performance and listening to
00:59:29the performance it says 42
00:59:30I keep looking at the performance and listening to the performance it says 42
00:59:33The notes that came out were amazing. Thank you absolutely amazing. I love the performance
00:59:43I'm surprised by all people my age honestly, I never thought people my age had this type of pipe
00:59:5215 year old oh, yeah, let's see how he does in the bright light
00:59:58Everybody's waiting for a break
01:00:01Like fast cause of freedom
01:00:03I'm 16 years old, you know, I understand this competition can be a stressful thing to go through, but I
01:00:10think I have what it takes for sure
01:00:11I just want to be loved
01:00:18I just want to be loved
01:00:21I just want to be loved
01:00:22I just want to be loved
01:00:23I just want to be loved
01:00:24And you tell me am I worthy
01:00:25What important
01:00:26Or am I working hard enough
01:00:29We're not expecting you to be anything other than what you are 16 year old kid, but uh, you're just
01:00:37doing impressive stuff
01:00:38You should be very very proud
01:00:39Good job
01:00:40I just want to be loved
01:00:49I want to be 15 year olds in this competition
01:00:51So I have to step it up and show that I can hold my own even being so young
01:00:56My audition went really well
01:00:58It was a very emotional audition
01:01:00I wrote this song in honor of Aubrey Wyatt, Miss Heather's daughter
01:01:05She was bullied for years and took her life
01:01:08I'm just so moved
01:01:10The way you had your heart broken for someone you didn't even know, you know
01:01:17For this round, I'll be performing Stay by Sugar Land
01:01:22I've been working for this moment my entire life
01:01:24Are you nervous at all?
01:01:25No, ma'am
01:01:26I mean, I've been doing this since I was so young
01:01:28I've been performing in front of people on a stage since I was 10 years old
01:01:32Make some noise for Chloe Grace!
01:01:38Hi, my name is Chloe Grace
01:01:40I'm 15 years old
01:01:41And I want to be the youngest competitor to ever win this show
01:01:46Ready to do it
01:01:48And that's what she said
01:01:49I love it
01:01:5015 years old
01:01:52Good Lord
01:01:53I'm super ready
01:01:56I've been sitting here staring at the clock on the wall
01:02:03And I've been laying here praying, praying she won't call
01:02:09It's just another call from home
01:02:13You'll get it and be gone
01:02:16And I'll be crying
01:02:25What do I have to do to make you see?
01:02:32If she can't love you like me
01:02:37Why don't you stay?
01:02:42So the next time you'll find
01:02:46You want to leave her dead for mine
01:02:56Why don't you stay?
01:03:04Baby, why don't you stay?
01:03:17Thank you so much
01:03:19Thank you so much
01:03:23Chloe, Chloe
01:03:24What a tough song to sing
01:03:26It's just you being a 15 year old
01:03:29That's the way it's gonna sound
01:03:31In the front part it seemed like you were pretty nervous
01:03:34But toward the end you really started locking in and hitting your stride
01:03:38I mean, you should be so proud of yourself
01:03:41Good job
01:03:43Any time you're dealing with a 15, 16 year old kid
01:03:47It becomes really, really delicate
01:03:49She was too young
01:03:50She was good
01:03:51Sweet little girl
01:03:52This could be a life altering moment for them
01:03:56And we want it to alter them in a positive way
01:04:00Not too young, just not ready
01:04:02We hope that it doesn't alter their confidence
01:04:05And who they are as an artist
01:04:08Okay, thank you guys
01:04:09Stand by, please
01:04:10Okay, here we go
01:04:11The following people step forward, please
01:04:15Aboyomi
01:04:18Michael
01:04:27The front row goes through
01:04:30The back row
01:04:31This is the end of the road
01:04:33Thank you very much
01:04:34Love you so much
01:04:48Feeling great, man
01:04:49For real
01:04:50I'm so excited right now
01:04:51Me only being 16
01:04:53I really thought I was out for the count
01:04:55But I guess this just proves
01:04:56It's not just about the age
01:04:58It's about what you got inside
01:04:59And you did it, Aboyomi
01:05:01You broke both the doors
01:05:03And you made it to the next round
01:05:04Thank you
01:05:05Congratulations
01:05:07Yeah
01:05:09Two more of our teens
01:05:10Survived the judge's first cut
01:05:12But it's the end of the road for another
01:05:15So this is it for this time around?
01:05:18Yes, sir
01:05:18I know it's disappointing
01:05:20But there's a lot of future in front of you
01:05:21Thank you
01:05:25It's hard to go home
01:05:26I would have loved to move forward
01:05:29But they felt like it was best for me to go home
01:05:32And work hard
01:05:32And maybe come back one day
01:05:34This is just the beginning
01:05:36We love you, baby
01:05:37We're so proud of you
01:05:38We love you, do great
01:05:38We're so proud of you, do great
01:05:39Yeah, do great
01:05:54It makes me feel honored
01:05:56To be a part of the chosen one
01:05:59It's blowing my mind right now
01:06:00Because I don't know what's coming up
01:06:02It feels a little tense in the room
01:06:04There's a lot of good performers
01:06:05That are going up right now
01:06:07So I'm sweating
01:06:09Hollywood week is a slap on your mama's mouth
01:06:15And I remember the sickness was forever
01:06:22And I remember the slug video
01:06:27Cold September, the distances we covered
01:06:32The fist fights on the beach
01:06:35The busies round us up
01:06:38Do it all again next week
01:06:41And the boy who kicked Tom's head
01:06:44Still bugs me now
01:06:47And that's the thing we think
01:06:50It cuts you when you're down
01:06:52And she wept and wept and wept
01:06:58Love came and died down here
01:07:01I see my murder
01:07:03The EWPC number
01:07:06She cries on the floor ain't coming
01:07:09Seventeen going under
01:07:12Seventeen going under
01:07:15I see my murder
01:07:24I'm Seventeen going under
01:07:29Thank you. Thank you guys so much.
01:07:33I like that.
01:07:36Boom. I like that.
01:07:39You're so ready for this.
01:07:42Yeah man.
01:07:43That's very kind of you.
01:07:45Even the sound that you chose on that guitar
01:07:48was a really, really cool sound.
01:07:50The way you started in the band, I mean,
01:07:52you're just ready to do this.
01:07:54Let me go win this thing, make an album, hit the road,
01:07:57get a band.
01:07:59You know, it's a little bit bigger of a band
01:08:01than I would normally play with, which is a ton of fun.
01:08:03But I consider myself really lucky
01:08:05that I have had the opportunity to play a lot
01:08:07over the last bunch of years.
01:08:09And I'm hoping that that will get me into the top 30.
01:08:13Wow.
01:08:14This is a tough board, man.
01:08:17How are we going to get these people down to 30?
01:08:20I don't know.
01:08:22That's what I'm sitting here thinking.
01:08:24Up next to take the stage is Minnesota hopeful, Chris
01:08:27Tungseth.
01:08:28Being here on American Idol, I mean,
01:08:31it means everything.
01:08:32It's kind of a start of something new for me,
01:08:35just like a new season of joy.
01:08:38I love you guys.
01:08:39Love you too.
01:08:40Love you too.
01:08:48I'm doing this for my mom and for my family.
01:08:51And obviously, my dad is here with me in spirit.
01:08:54I am so proud.
01:08:56I have an American Idol for a son.
01:09:02So for Hollywood week, I'm going to be singing Jealous by Labyrinth.
01:09:07I'm really excited to hear them.
01:09:10After losing my dad and I heard this song, I was like, oh,
01:09:14this could mean so many things.
01:09:16It's a breakup song, essentially.
01:09:19But when I listen to it after losing dad, I think of you losing dad.
01:09:26Because there's parts in that song where it's like, I'm jealous of the rain that falls upon your skin.
01:09:31Your voice will sound.
01:09:35Share your life.
01:09:36Yeah.
01:09:37You know?
01:09:40My family is the reason why I feel so confident in pursuing my dream.
01:09:47This performance could change my life.
01:09:50I know my dad's with me.
01:09:52And I know my mom's at home, just rooting for me, praying for me.
01:09:55And so I'm going to go out there and give it everything that I have.
01:10:04I'm jealous of the rain
01:10:10That falls upon your skin
01:10:17It's closer than my hands have been
01:10:22Oh, I'm jealous of rain
01:10:26Oh, I'm jealous of rain
01:10:30I'm jealous of the wind
01:10:33Oh, great
01:10:35That ripples through your clothes
01:10:42It's closer than your shadow
01:10:46I know
01:10:48Oh, I'm jealous of the wind
01:10:57But I wish you the best of all this world could give
01:11:09And I told you when you left me
01:11:17There's nothing to forgive
01:11:22But I always thought you'd come back
01:11:26Tell me all you found was
01:11:32Heartbreak and misery
01:11:35It's hard for me to say
01:11:39I'm jealous of the way
01:11:43You're happy without me
01:11:49It's hard for me to say
01:11:53I'm jealous of the way
01:11:56You're happy without me
01:12:12I mean, I felt like that was just kind of captivating, you know
01:12:16Just hanging on every word
01:12:18Wondering what you were going to do with it
01:12:20You've got that soulful, soft, sensitive thing in your voice
01:12:26And it's very mesmerizing
01:12:29Thank you, Gary
01:12:30Thank you, Chris
01:12:31I feel like I didn't really like the way he arranged it
01:12:42Yeah
01:12:43Yeah
01:12:44That song typically auditions very well
01:12:47Yeah
01:12:47It didn't compliment him
01:12:49It was a little quick
01:12:53It's supposed to be one that you milk every second of
01:12:55Yeah
01:12:56I just had to hone in on what I knew I could do
01:12:59And I feel like I did that right there, so
01:13:03We got a lot of cuts to make
01:13:05Stay tuned for more results in Music City
01:13:18The thing I love about American Idol
01:13:22Is its ability to take normal everyday people
01:13:26People that have not been anywhere in or around the music industry
01:13:30We take those people and give them the opportunity of a lifetime
01:13:35Being here in Hollywood Week in Music City is nerve-wracking
01:13:42I have never performed with a big band or in front of anyone
01:13:46Except for in church
01:13:48This does feel like a big opportunity
01:13:50Stuff like this just doesn't happen to people like me
01:13:58Growing up in Warrenville, it was very
01:14:02Definitely different
01:14:03It's not very wealthy
01:14:05It's a very small, very poverty-like town
01:14:12I did move around a lot growing up
01:14:14We've probably moved about ten times
01:14:16Moving schools a lot
01:14:18And it didn't really feel like I fit in anywhere
01:14:20I didn't really have a lot of friends
01:14:22I know finances weren't always like there for us
01:14:25It was really hard for me to talk about it
01:14:32Music was the constant in all of that craziness
01:14:36I always felt limited
01:14:38Like I don't have the resources to reach this goal of mine
01:14:42When it comes to music
01:14:43Because I've always wanted to sing
01:14:44I would lay down at night
01:14:47And I would pray
01:14:49And hope that something would come about
01:14:53And now I'm here
01:15:01I'm going to be singing
01:15:02Girls Just Want to Have Fun
01:15:04By Cindy Walker
01:15:14I come home in the morning light
01:15:18My mother says what you're gonna do with your life
01:15:23Oh, mama dear
01:15:26Oh, mama dear, we're not the fortunate ones
01:15:29But girls, they want to have fun
01:15:33Oh, girls just want to have fun
01:15:39That's all they really want
01:15:48When the working day is done
01:15:52Oh, girls, they want to have fun
01:15:56Oh, girls just want to have fun
01:16:04They just want to have fun
01:16:38Well, Chloe, I tell you what
01:16:41You have one of the most original-sounding voices
01:16:44In the whole competition
01:16:47Thank you
01:16:48When I heard you were going to do
01:16:51Girls Just Want to Have Fun
01:16:52I was like
01:16:53I can't imagine her voice doing it
01:16:56Like Cyndi Lauper did it
01:16:57And then when I heard
01:16:58Kind of the moodier version
01:17:00I kind of really got confused
01:17:02Because I wanted the original version
01:17:04That Cyndi Lauper did
01:17:05But then I really enjoyed your version
01:17:08But then it got a little sleepy
01:17:09But then I still loved your voice
01:17:13Yeah
01:17:14Overall, there's a lot of emotions
01:17:16That I'm going through right now
01:17:18And I thought that we were all
01:17:19Going to be dancing
01:17:20To Girls Just Want to Have Fun
01:17:22But I really appreciate your arrangement
01:17:24And when you do want to have fun
01:17:26Make sure you come on out here
01:17:27And have a big old time
01:17:28All right
01:17:29Thank you
01:17:32I feel like I let myself down
01:17:34I am self-sabotaged really badly
01:17:36I tried to do the best that I could
01:17:40It's almost like she's given up on herself
01:17:43The pressure of the competition
01:17:45Is definitely a playing factor
01:17:47In why I feel the way I feel
01:17:49And I don't feel like I did my very best
01:17:51She's got the voice
01:17:53Wrong song
01:17:54It's really about pushing myself
01:17:57And wanting to win
01:17:58Because I know I can
01:18:01I don't know where she went
01:18:02Yeah
01:18:03That's not it
01:18:04Here's 22-year-old Brayden Rumpfell
01:18:09Oh, I remember
01:18:11Oh, yeah
01:18:16Gotta loosen up
01:18:18I wanted to come out there
01:18:19And just like shake your arms
01:18:21And throw your vest across the room
01:18:23And I think you're a racehorse, man
01:18:25Are you usually a mover
01:18:27A traveler on the stage?
01:18:28A little bit
01:18:29I've had some knee issues
01:18:30So I kind of tend to stay in the same spot
01:18:33How's your knee?
01:18:34Not too bad
01:18:34I just had two surgeries on these guys
01:18:36In the last year
01:18:41I've had two lower leg realignments
01:18:44The doctors have explained
01:18:45That all your body's resources
01:18:48Are going into healing the leg
01:18:50And so you could be susceptible
01:18:52To get sick
01:18:53That spark something in my head
01:18:55Like, oh my gosh
01:18:56Wash your hands constantly
01:18:57Don't touch anybody
01:18:59Don't let them get near you
01:19:01No hugs
01:19:02Now I'm in a panic mode
01:19:04Like, I'm going to die now
01:19:10These intrusive thoughts
01:19:11Pop into my head
01:19:12That are not real
01:19:13They kind of develop
01:19:14A contamination OCD
01:19:16And it's really debilitating
01:19:19I had started going to therapy
01:19:22I've made huge strides
01:19:23To getting a lot better
01:19:29Hollywood week
01:19:30That's good for me
01:19:31I can focus on putting my energy
01:19:33Into something that is real
01:19:36This performance is going to be
01:19:37The biggest one of my entire life
01:19:38I'm confident
01:19:40Going into it
01:19:41Hello, hello, hello
01:19:43I'm doing
01:19:44I'm not the only one
01:19:45By Sam Smith
01:19:58You and me
01:20:00We made a vow
01:20:03For better
01:20:08I can't believe you let me down
01:20:12Mother poos
01:20:14And away
01:20:17You say
01:20:20I'm crazy
01:20:23Cause you don't think
01:20:26I know what to do
01:20:29But
01:20:30Will
01:20:31You call me
01:20:34Baby
01:20:35I know
01:20:36I'm not the only one
01:20:41I have loved you
01:20:44For many years
01:20:46Baby
01:20:47I am just not enough
01:20:52You made me realize
01:20:54My deep fear
01:20:57By lying
01:20:59By lying
01:20:59And tearing us up
01:21:02You say
01:21:06I'm crazy
01:21:07For you don't think
01:21:10I know what you've done
01:21:12But
01:21:15Will
01:21:15You call me
01:21:18Baby
01:21:19I know
01:21:21I'm not the only one
01:21:23And I know
01:21:26And I know
01:21:30That
01:21:31I know
01:21:33I'm not the only one
01:21:46Damn it
01:21:49Damn it
01:21:51Damn it
01:21:51Damn it
01:21:52Damn it
01:21:57Brayden, man, can you make it look hard next time?
01:22:01Just laid it in there.
01:22:03We knew you were special in your audition.
01:22:06We knew it.
01:22:07We felt it.
01:22:08We're here to support you.
01:22:10We're here to lift you up.
01:22:12We want you to have fun.
01:22:13And man, you picked the perfect song.
01:22:17Perfect song.
01:22:21And lean in, be you, be yourself, and get ready for the ride.
01:22:26It's going to be really, really special.
01:22:32I don't know what to do, man.
01:22:33I'm just like, ah, golly.
01:22:36He may win.
01:22:38I'm thankful for the opportunity, no matter how it turns out,
01:22:40but it seems like it's going to do well.
01:22:42Hang tight right here, folks.
01:22:43Our judges are going to do deliberations,
01:22:45and then we're going to know the results.
01:22:48There's so much at stake.
01:22:50And going into results, there's just so many talented musicians here.
01:22:53Like, I want to be in the top 30 so bad.
01:22:55Pass that old board down here so I can get my attitude right.
01:23:00It probably means more to me than most people here.
01:23:03I've always pulled through any situation I've ever been in.
01:23:08I don't know.
01:23:08This one's different.
01:23:12This is a very heavy class, and all of you have done amazing, amazing work.
01:23:22This is probably the most unprecedented time we've ever had, where we had to just cut talent.
01:23:29But having said that, will the following people step forward?
01:23:48This is something we are charged with doing, so...
01:23:55Front row, you should be very proud of how far you've come.
01:24:03But for now, your journey...
01:24:09Next Monday, you're in the toughest class we have ever had.
01:24:14It's the conclusion of Hollywood Week, Music City Takeover.
01:24:17You're in one bondage right now.
01:24:18Some of us are going home.
01:24:20Where we find out who survives.
01:24:23I was trying to kick you out of the room, because I'm so jealous of you.
01:24:26If you were thinking about winning, just keep doing that.
01:24:29And gets in to the top 30.
01:24:31Am I freaking out about it?
01:24:32Yeah.
01:24:32I feel you guys are going to beat me.
01:24:35Bring it on!
01:24:36I love it!
01:24:37I did everything I could.
01:24:39I'm so sorry.
01:24:40I would love nothing more than to be a part of those 30 singers that make it.
01:24:44Let's just hope.
01:24:45Hope and pray.
01:24:46We got more bloodshed coming.
01:24:48We have some sing-offs.
