The Dongchuan Red Land, northeast of Kunming, has emerged as a striking patchwork of rolling hills and richly coloured soil, drawing visitors with its vivid hues under the sun.
Footage captured on Tuesday shows the landscape glowing in shades of crimson, gold and green, illuminated by the spring light and captivating visitors from across the country.
"I'd heard a long time ago that the Dongchuan Red Land was beautiful. I was lucky enough to come to Yunnan this time [...] I think it's so beautiful and breathtaking, definitely worth seeing," expressed a visitor from Sichuan.
Travellers were drawn to the vast, richly coloured farmland, where iron-rich soil creates striking red hues set against green crops and golden fields, as well as the sacred tree decorated with red envelopes and ornaments symbolising blessings in life.
"I've never seen scenery like this before. My most immediate impression is experiencing the wonders of nature; it's truly breathtaking and it's completely natural," shared a tourist from Zhejiang.
The striking landscape in southwest China's Yunnan Province owes its red hue to high concentrations of iron and aluminium oxides in the soil, which have oxidised over centuries in a warm, humid climate.
The Dongchuan Red Land has also earned its reputation for preserving its rustic scenery, as it has not become overly developed and offers visitors an unforgettable chance to experience nature's untamed beauty.
