00:00Media reports on Tuesday said Republican Clay Fuller had won a run-off election in Georgia.
00:06He will replace conservative firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene,
00:10who resigned after a public break with Trump in the U.S. House of Representatives.
00:15Fuller, a Trump-endorsed former district attorney,
00:18vowed during campaigning to enact Trump's America First agenda.
00:22The reality of it is we came up a little short.
00:25His opponent, moderate Democrat Sean Harris,
00:27conceded defeat but highlighted how close the race was in the heavily Republican district.
00:33With 86% of the ballots counted,
00:35Harris had 42.5% of the vote and was trailing Fuller by about 15 points.
00:41By comparison, Harris lost to Greene by nearly 30 points two years ago.
00:46Analysts say the margin of victory will be passed for clues to party strength
00:50and Trump's standing with his MAGA base.
00:53Fuller's win gives Republicans a bit more wiggle room
00:56to push legislation through the House.
00:58It's currently narrowly split down the middle with 217 Republicans,
01:03214 Democrats, one Independent and three vacancies.
01:08Fuller was served through the end of 2026,
01:10but must quickly pivot to campaigning for a full two-year term beginning in January 2027,
01:16starting with a party primary in May.
01:18I think it's incredibly important to make sure that we're fighting for the president's agenda.
01:21And then if the people here, if it had gone blue,
01:25it would have been a complete tragedy for the people of northwest Jordan.
01:28So I know that the conservatives here,
01:30they want to see those policies continued
01:32and want to see me fighting for them on Capitol Hill.
01:42We've been the most dangerous candidate in this race since day one.
01:45And we've shown that the entire time,
01:47every moment that we've been in this race,
01:48we've always won, we've always dominated every aspect of this campaign.
01:52We'll continue to do it, no matter how many times we have to run.
01:55It's a completely dominating performance that we've had on March 10th
01:58and here on April 7th.
01:59We'll keep winning.
02:00How do you plan on being different from Marjorie Taylor Greene
02:02when you do get to Washington, D.C.?
02:04Yeah, just relying on who I've been my entire career.
02:06So I've been a fighter in the courtrooms right here in this community.
02:10I'm a military officer.
02:11I've been fighting for this country.
02:13I'll just continue to be the fighter that I've always been in my entire career.
