00:50the competition is tonight's host childcare practitioner Leon I would
00:54describe myself as a little bit of a Tasmanian devil I'm always on the go
00:58here there and everywhere my mind is at rest and when I've got something to do
01:02or I'm excited I'm just buzzing all over the place getting the party started on
01:07Monday with her Mexican fiesta was content creator Lizzie tuck in go for it mine I
01:14didn't go quite as well as I thought it would I think it all just kind of fell
01:18apart when it came to serving I wish I did I wish I did I don't think I'm gonna
01:26win this competition if I'm honest I don't think my food was up to scratch and
01:31ultimately this is a cooking competition Ambrose agrees if I lost to Lizzie I would
01:36be absolutely devastated I would question my ability completely
01:39Sally's definitely my competition let the evening begin Tuesday saw fashionista law
01:46lecturer Sally out to impress with her authentic old Shanghai menu
01:50beautiful beautiful presentation I think my evening was pretty refined I was very attentive and I think I met everybody's
02:05needs and more
02:06lecturer Lindsay was all compliments the flavors are really subtle it's really nice last night was stupendous
02:14Sally's food was so good on presentation really tasty the percentage chance of me
02:22winning went down significantly after Sally's night she's going to be a
02:27tough act to follow you're not wrong she notched a very impressive 33 points so
02:32what's everyone expecting from Leon I would assume Leon is an absolutely abysmal cook
02:38high hopes then I'm hoping that Leon gives us some very authentic Jamaican food I'm bringing a taste of
02:45the island vibe and Jamaica and the Caribbean culture to my menu and it's definitely a good take
02:51on it I feel I want to bring loads of flavor loads of energy loads of color and I think
02:56I'm going to
02:56execute it well you've got the enthusiasm part covered Leon kicks off with his main jerk chicken and
03:08so I'm really looking forward to this and I'm hoping it's going to be very very well seasoned and spicy
03:14this is a dish that needs to be spicy traditionally it's a spicy dish and I love spice
03:19so this is what we call the jerk seasoning loads of fire and spice and knock you off your feet

06:05them down as a baker I'm not gonna lie I'm just gonna chuck it in I'm a man of many

06:13it's something that I love I've not really made it before but I think I want to give it a

06:18I love my Jamaica ginger cake I like it stodgy I like it moist I like it dense I like

06:24the outside that is what I'm gonna be looking for in your head when people used to have that thought
06:28what came first the chicken or the egg that's me doing this trying to work out what ingredients go in

10:56making sure that I didn't overcook it the vegetables weren't soft that's the main thing for me they're
11:03definitely not soft it's like dog sick it actually tasted way better than it looked but my carrots like
11:12rock hard I do like vegetables al dente so that suited me down to the ground I would have preferred

11:20carrots to be a bit softer and I could have done with a bit more heat I like but it's

11:28group know by now that I am critical and but I'm critical about myself so if I can judge myself

13:51no oh my gosh please tell me I thought what could I do that looks similar so I decided to

13:58corn drumstick option okay I will admit I got really disappointed when I thought I had cauliflower because
14:06as a vessel I think it's such a versatile vegetable and then I found out it was just fake chicken
14:12from a
14:12bag how are the spice levels wow I could feel my face flushing my body temperatures rising I get that
14:24doing extreme yoga it's got a tingle on my tongue okay and I love it oh yeah just a tingle

14:30spicy yeah you're a hardcore girl the spice level was perfect for me but I definitely think a few
14:36more aromatics would have made the dish better with main course I expected to be jerk chicken spicy
14:46vibrant flavorsome I think Leon's dish was just a little bit lacking good house how did you cook the
14:51chicken obviously I wanted to make sure the flavors and the juices were there I kind of just use kind
14:55of a
14:56a similar style to an airfryer style instead of cooking in the oven so you air fried it yeah yeah
15:00and that's quite common with obviously jerk chicken airfryer is not a traditional Jamaican
15:06kitchen appliance though is it no it's the way you cook it I thought you might have used a barbecue
15:12but
15:13you might have just actually just gone some effort even had a barbecue stand in his garden he could have
15:17done it I have air fryer myself and it does actually give a very good result but at the same
15:23time
15:24it's kind of a shortcut so me in school I was in the back of my music class and there
15:31was a boy stood
15:32up so I thought you know what let me play a bit of a joke so I pulled his chair
15:36away and he smashed his
15:38head on the cabinet oh dear oh god that backfired I was just very impulsive has anyone else got any
15:44stories of doing things like they wish they'd never done I really regret auditioning for the school
15:49choir in junior school because because I made it and I was in that choir for the last two years
15:55in junior school it was terrible you didn't sing the song you know oh happy day remember sister

19:11want it to take away from the ginger no it's stunning no worries yeah I just like it to be

19:15more moist I was really hoping for a dense gooey saucy sticky cake and I just I didn't get that
19:24unfortunately it was just a little bit dry and what about the ginger yeah so I basically use the
19:29ginger paste the reason why I use the ginger paste is because raw ginger can be very strong and obviously
19:35I didn't want to overpower the cake with raw ginger and I thought it was a happy medium I really
19:42could not
19:42taste any ginger in the cake I literally thought he made it with molasses I would have added maybe a
19:49cream because the golden syrup is very sweet yeah yeah yeah I would have like preferred more ginger
19:55flavor and maybe an additional sauce to improve it it was very dry it needed the syrup it needed a
20:01custard it needed a cream it needed something it needed saving so guys I've got a bit of entertainment
20:07outside so come and follow me oh my god oh yes the party has reached its climax and I want

21:09moves to top it off what can I say absolutely smashed out of the park let's get some schools
21:16the starter and the dessert were a bit of a letdown the main I loved but I wish he served
21:22more of it
21:22so I'm going to give Leon a five tonight was really good fun really high energy however the
21:29cuisine wasn't quite up to scratch so therefore I'm giving Leon a six tonight I'm going to score
21:36Leon a six his jerk should have been spicier his pudding should have been moister but we had a great
21:42time with a good laugh so I scored my seven which means Leon's Caribbean cuisine gets him 24 points
