Totsuko is the kind of student who can’t just „read the room“. She literally sees people’s emotions as colors. Joy has one look, excitement another, calm a third. So she spends her days trying to prevent everyone’s irritation from boiling over. It’s like being the family thermostat, except emotions don’t have a dial.

Then she meets two other outsiders, Kimi and Rui. Instead of continuing the whole emotional damage-control routine, they decide to start a band. Which is great, except Totsuko still can’t play an instrument. Spoiler: the movie treats that problem like a fun starting point, not a deal-breaker. A 2024 Japanese drama with a visual idea that actually sticks, and a soundtrack premise that feels weirdly believable.

Totsuko ist keine normale Schülerin. Sie sieht Emotionen als Farben. Nicht im poetischen Sinne, sondern so, dass ihr beim Anschauen von anderen Leuten sofort klar ist, ob jemand genervt, aufgedreht oder irgendwie… gelassen ist. Praktisch. Leider auch maximal anstrengend. Denn statt einfach abzuhängen, versucht sie ständig, ihre Umgebung vor Unmut zu bewahren. Dann trifft sie zwei Gleichgesinnte, Kimi und Rui. Und plötzlich geht es nicht mehr nur darum, Gefühle zu „managen“, sondern sie in einer Band rauszulassen. Klar, sie kann noch kein Instrument. Aber hey, manchmal ist Chaos der beste Ton. 2024 aus Japan. Überrascht erstaunlich warm und ziemlich witzig nebenbei.
