00:00Ooh, Dr. Evil has sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their head.
00:04Do you know what mine does? Mine does haikus.
00:06Checkmate, Dr. Bald!
00:10Oh, Canada!
00:12Voiced by the late Peter Spellius, Skybite first appeared in the 2001 series Robots in Disguise as a mainstay Predacon,
00:19often indulging himself in schemes and Earth literature, mainly haikus.
00:23He's a complex animal.
00:25In 2025, they brought him back in Age of the Primes.
00:28Cyberworld gave him wheels? What are you talking about? He's always had wheels.
00:33Had some fins from the soup, I mean sprue, and there!
00:36Skybite is a robotic shark that's seen better days.
00:39The false flesh tears open to reveal so much of his robotic details, very much in line with the show.
00:45And to think, it didn't actually start off as Skybite, it started as Cybershark from Beast Wars.
00:50Its body is so smooth in its silhouette, with large panels covering to complete the look, all in purple, gray,
00:56and silver throughout.
00:57It's surprisingly long, the length of an old leader toy.
01:01The fins sticking out is the top of the head and fits so elegantly inside.
01:05Sure, the tail is just the arms and the legs are there, but if you compare, it still looks like
01:10a shark.
01:11I love the red eyes, savage teeth, all the wires, and the biggest surprise is the joints.
01:16The jaw opens, the head tilts, the fin rotates, the tail moves, the tip rotates.
01:22I didn't expect that from an ocean potato, better than some of the kingdom toys.
01:26I won't throw shade, but Rhinox!
01:27The rockets jam into the mouth like peanut butter, but also tab to the bottom.
01:31I appreciate the rockets, even if he looks like he bit into a life preserver.
01:36The shark is so well-crafted, it's rough, it's terrifying, it does slam poetry, but where are the wheels?
01:41Robot mode.
01:42Nom nom nom nom.
01:43I need a lava girl to my shark boy.
01:46The shape and sculpt seems on point at every part of the bod itself.
01:50The disfigured looking eyes in the chest with the lighter blue side, round core, the slick gold shins, pointed knees,
01:57and the moving shoulder pads you need to attach because they're so big for the box.
02:01The robot seems clean, but the process getting here was a mess.
02:04All these large panels tried to swerve around each other, and while massive, at least the back smooths out,
02:09his butt is on point, that being the shark nose.
02:12You could tilt it, but now it looks bigger.
02:14I can't wait for the pins in the shoulders to corrode.
02:18I do like the little arm flippers.
02:19That head is gorgeous, with so much of Skybyte's energy, the gold face, the snarling teeth, even the nose.
02:27That fin is massive, it's gotta be hard to walk through doors.
02:31All lengths motionless, till spoken of a lone word.
02:35Articulation!
02:35Ball turned ahead, shoulders out and in, forward to back rotation below, elbow bend, wrist rotation, claw rotation,
02:41hinge fin, hinge fin, hinge fin, hinge fin, waist rotation, hips out and in, forward to back rotation below, knee
02:46bend, and foot tilt.
02:47Posing is near stellar.
02:48I'm shocked with the wrist rotation that matches the spin drive tail.
02:53The shoulder flaps move, but I wish there was more range with the hips, and the knees often unlock.
02:57He's also a massive voyager, so much that I don't mind the scale with Optimus Prime.
03:03Let's take a look at the accessories.
03:04Other than the tail and headdress that can poke out an eye, the yellow rockets can plug into the hand.
03:10It's fine, but feels out of place or too simple, so I'll just leave it in the jaw.
03:14He can hold the fins separate as blades, or back to back.
03:18And you can actually do the Prime cosplay thing, even if it's a mistake.
03:22That shark is pretty playful, more than I expected, considering it has to work around the transformation.
03:28The robot has certain quirks just to know about, but nothing seems to ruin it, especially with how good and
03:33poseable it is.
03:34Now for another haiku.
03:37Disguised animal, prior to a forceful gust.
03:40Oh no, it's Sharknado!
04:11.
04:11.
04:11.
04:11.
04:11.
04:11.
04:11.
04:11.
04:11.
04:16.
