00:01Britain's Wireless Music Festival was cancelled after US rapper Kanye West was refused entry
00:07to the country.
00:08That's according to organiser Festival Republic Tuesday, which had faced backlash since naming
00:14him as the headline act.
00:15The government has been under pressure to block West over his past anti-Semitic comments
00:20and celebration of Nazism.
00:22British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the artist, now known as Ye, should never have
00:27been invited to headline the festival.
00:30While major companies withdrew their sponsorship after the announcement.
00:34The rapper was also barred from Australia last July after releasing Heil Hitler, a song
00:39promoting Nazism.
00:41He also advertised a swastika t-shirt for sale on his website.
00:45In January, Ye took a full-page advertisement in the Wall Street Journal to apologise.
00:51He attributed his behaviour to an undiagnosed brain injury and an untreated bipolar disorder.
00:57He also apologised for past expressions of admiration for Adolf Hitler and use of swastika imagery.
01:03Earlier on Tuesday, Ye offered to meet Britain's Jewish community, saying his only goal was to
01:08come to London and present a show of change.
01:11Festival Republic said Westminster's interior minister had denied Ye's entry to the country,
01:16and added that refunds would be issued to all ticket holders.
01:20Festival Republic said the surveillance MAND í ëŞ
at one of the factories had said.
01:20And before I adored it, if anyone wouldn't decide...
